Was watching a Star Trek channel and they criticized Robert's episode, "The Alternative Factor" as not too good (which it isn't; poor script and chaotic production) and they mentioned that one of the issues was that Robert had to come in as a recast ONE DAY before shooting started. Now I knew that Robert was hired because John Drew Barrymore (yes, Drew's dad) was, well…acting like a Barrymore and in no condition to work, but I didn't realize that Robert had literally NO prep time. Now that's a pro! Bravo to Robert!
It so happens "April Wade's Nostalgia Network" has uploaded them. You won't find them listed as Here Come the Brides however. They are listed as HCTB S1,E1 as an example. Enjoy. I'm up to S1, Episode 18.
I had loved the show as a pre-teen and Robert Brown was my Favorite brother as well. His looks, his wonderful voice, and his swagger. I would love to visit with him now and hear all the great stories. I admit I still have that crush.
Same here! I was 15 back then and Robert Brown stole my heart 💗While my girlfriends were all falling for David Soul & Bobby Sherman, I only had eyes [and ears] for Robert Brown!
@@Elphaba1952 there’s a nice interview called The Last Interview of Robert Brown. It’s a little less than an hour online & easy to find & there are clips of He & his wife. His wife passed, but he is back in the swing of life at 95! 😊 It was so nice to hear him speak if his extraordinary upbringing in that wonderfully familiar voice of his! Best wishes!
Edward Mulhare as Captain Gregg and Robert Brown as Jason Bolt were my two 'crushes' at ageveleven and they still look good as I approach 60! Who needs Twilight?
As a ten year old when the show was produced I would have married Candy Pruitt. If I had the stature, good looks, height, voice, and build of Robert Brown I might have been able to do it. He is what I see as the embodiment of a perfect man.
I know this is the music that's normally used for actor's Memoriums; however, Robert Brown is still alive. Not sure why I didn't notice him when I was watching David Soul and Bobby Sherman on Here Come the Brides (because I was watching Bobby Sherman mostly). Brown was born thee same year as my Dad in 1926 - which was an interesting year for famous people. He certainly was a head turner and he aged very well. If Here Comes the Brides came out today - I'd probably be smittin for Brown. He had a certain swaggar and command of the role - it was perfect for him. Why he didn't get more noticed - guess we'll never know.
Nodding my head in agreement with every word you've written, Cassie. Have you listened to his interview, from a couple of years ago? Wonderful. The man is as charming and quietly charismatic as he was as Jason Bolt on 'HCTB.' May he live for many more years to come (still going strong at 95 years young).
I loved the slide show! Here Comes the Brides was not on long enough for the teenager I was then! I was so upset when they cancelled the show! Now that was good T.V.!!!
Jason Bolt...what a man. They don't make men like this anymore. I feel sorry for the young girls today...nobody like this to have a crush on. I had a crush on him as a teen, and still do! An underrated actor who wasn't in enough shows or films.
I've rewatched Here Comes The Brides. Robert was the best. I know Bobby Sherman was the teen idol back then, but I bet there were a lot of woman who thought Robert was better looking. Just loved him as Jason. Yes he has aged well. Paul please give him my best the next time you talk to him.
This is sweet..A station in my area has started showing episodes of Here comes the brides..cute show, and Mr Brown was hitting it on the looks back in the day..You go Robert..be hitting it with the ladies :)
God gave this man among men a beautiful head of hair for openers , His leading role on ''Here comes the Brides '' s show depicting the city of Seattle Washington in it's infancy and hoping it would grow . The main resource are trees and 3 brothers owned the logging trade which were lumberjacks ,cutting down trees and preparing the wood for transport ,The men were lonely and they needed women which came from New Bedford MA . The long trip by boat brought the women to Seattle in hopes of marriages and new families. Brown was expert as Jason Bolt who solved every possible problem that came about . The way he solved these problems always worked out to be the best possible solution to which all parties were satisfied and he earned the respect and loved by all. He was a real man always nice to watch him on screen one can only wonder why he did not become a movie star
Lovely tribute. I discovered Robert Brown when he was doing Brides and his looks and bearing impressed me so much, that when I needed a face for a GAMM fan-fic (that show debuted the same year as Brides) character I created years later for Daniel Gregg's best friend, I used his! Also LOVE the music you selected. Thank-you!
Rich206L Yep, still alive. Always go to IMDB.com for actors and actresses to see if they are still alive or not plus their bio's you can read and all the work they have done. He is currently 89 years old. Next year in 11/172016 he'll be 90. According to IMDB.com, Robert Brown has not worked as an actor since 1994. I don't understand why this actor never became big. He certainly had the talent which was noteworthy in Star Trek, TOS when he played Lazarus. I wonder what ever became of him and where he now lives. Well now. I just found this article from 2009, if you're interested in reading. www.focusonthemasters.com/brown.html And here you'll find his IMDB profile and work he had done. www.imdb.com/name/nm0114543/?ref_=nmbio_bio_nm Naturally near the age of 90, I'm sure he's probably quite retired now but what a handsome man Mr. Brown was. An incredible actor, as well...
+Rich206L He's still alive at 89 and married to Elisse Pogofsky-Harris, an artist, for 30 years. I remember the role of Lazarus well. He was one hell of an actor back in his day. He now does photography. Lives in California and Italy.
@@journeyon1983 Sadly, Robert's wife passed away a few years ago. Robert is still alive and well, at age 95. Such a handsome man, with a great style about him as an actor (definitely leading man material!) and a fantastic and wonderfully masculine speaking voice.
@@womanbread This is so crazy to see so many people appreciating him. this is my great uncle and he sadly passed away a couple days ago. it’s crazy to see you comment about his wife (my great aunt Elise) because i didn’t even see information about her passing on google. Thank you so much for your kind comment.
That was most lovely! Thank you! Such a beautiful man & beautiful soul! 🙏🏼♥️💕🙌🏼🎵Beautiful music! PERFECT!
I LOVE Robert Brown!
Thanks loved Robert Brown❤️

I agree, Mary. Loved them both. As a child I had such a crush on both of them. I loved " Here Comes the Brides".
Mary? Me too! and my last name is Casey!
Liked his character's friendship on the show with this brothers, and with the character, Aaron, it was a very good show.❤️🎉🎉🎉💫
Absolutely the most attractive man I have ever seen.
This brought back wonderful memories of HCTB. Mr. Brown was amazing! Thank you.
Gorgeous man! The bluest eyes you'll ever see... Lovely.

Yes:
A perfect 10.
RIP Primus.
wonderful video thank you for that
RIp Robert! :(
always thought Robert Brown a real 'man's man'--not fake macho--but real strength and sensitivity....Gregory Peck had this quality as well.
where can one get that trademark swede brown coat he wears in series--love it.

I had a HUGE crush on him too!..they don't make TV shows like this anymore, either. Sadly.
What a wonderful Video.I remember this show when it aired....Man TV was so great back then...
He was my favorite Bolt Brother..he was better than perfect I adored him!

He reminds me of Joseph Roy Denton of A bride in the bargain (a novel by deeanne gist)
Robert Brown was (1968) Hawaii 5-0's original Steve McGarrett.
Robert Brown was never on Hawaii 5-0. Not as Steve McGarrett. That was Jack Lord.
He was cast to star in H5-0 but at the last minute the producers changed their mind and gave the part to Jack Lord.
I see. Never had heard that. Thank you.
