  • I’d like to share a few ideas on how to easily prepare nutritious foods from scratch at home for children (or anyone). This way they can have more choices to make their own healthy meals and encourage them in forming healthy habits that will benefit them for a lifetime.

If there's no processed food, kids learn to eat what is there. From the garden, the vegetable stall at the market. It is so much easier than people think. Involving them is key. My kids could all cook at 12. And I worked full-time. I still love it if they come home late at night, we all gather in the kitchen to eat. Bakin and cooking in the middle of the night. You bond over home-cooked food.

Absolutely agree! My six year old already does certain things for herself. Prepping fruits or smoothies, toast, etc. Having the good stuff around and not placing too much pressure on them go a long way. ❤

Thank you so, so much. My 17 month old grandson is just about to return from a year in Thailand with his parents, maternal grandmother, other relatives and a whole village! Now it is his paternal grandmother's turn to invite him along for some grandmother Australis food for love and health. You could not have posted at a better time. As always, much gratitude 🙏🏻

As long as you lead by example, and you eat what you want them to eat, there is no struggle. I had no packaged processed foods in my kitchen when I had children, and we just ate what was made, which was whole, nutritious foods. No quick store bought snacks in the cupboards or freezer. If they were hungry when they got a bit older, they had to make it. This also taught them how to cook. Great video!

Children often mimic their parents, so model good behaviors to them.

I started doing this hardwork for myself two years back. I am 25 yrs old and I'm confident that no disease can touch me if I continue to do this hardwork for meal prep. I get riled up quiet often because I wasn't taught cooking at the right age and so it takes me much more time than others to even do basic cooking. But I am confident that it is all worth it.

That's very naive. Yes, healthy food can help to aid overall health, but it doesn't guarantee "no illness will ever touch you". Healthy people, too, can get cancer and develop chronic illnesses, for example.

@@SandySass I just wanted to express the good feeling that I carry with myself now because the changes I have incorportated are drastic. I feel really good about it and have a feeling that no severe disease can happen to me. Feelings are irrational and you're right.

If you wait 45 minutes between chopping the brocali and cooking, sulphurophane is created which is heat stable, extra healthy!

Hi. What was meant by sprouted almonds in the meal? For how long do you soak them for it to get sprouted?

Im curious, Cz I eat meat and dairy, but am trying to switch to more plant based… is there protein in this meal ? Looking at what’s in the plate I feel like I wouldn’t get full. Am I missing something?
