What I like about the bacon is how hardy it is. For a lot of folks higher north in colder climates, bacons handle the cold well and is productive. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for your comment REM, I am impressed how hardy the bacon is. It did really well in our little snowy weather we recently got. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching!
Definitely agree with you there Frank. My bacon in the 24" box looks like a beautiful Christmas tree, really nice to look at. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching!
@@johnnysworld-backyardorchard Me too Johnny! Very buttery! I am growing the other Bacon, Jim Bacon which essentially tastes very similar but up here they turn reddish which is cool.
anything Homegrown tastes better, than store bought , because store bought avocado goes through cold storage, but I've tried fresh hass off the tree and no difference in taste from store bought, bacon probably tastes better than hass, much better than store bought hass
Hey, love your videos! Just had a question, I'm planning to grow 2 avocados and have to select from hass, gem and Pinkerton for a small backyard garden Which two would you suggest I should go for?
Hi Arunav, I personally would plant the GEM and Pinkerton. Really like both trees and they are smaller than the Hass. The Reed is an excellent smaller tree as well and the fruit is excellent. Thank you for watching!
@@johnnysworld-backyardorchard Thank you for your feedback, have seen most of your videos related to avocados. Will try planting a gem in a pot and Pinkerton in ground?
Hi VFG: great to hear from you and hope all is well my friend! That sounds like a great idea on the bacon avocado with bacon sandwich, definitely have to try that one day! Hope you are doing well and thank you for watching!
Bacon by far for the win! I've got a 40' tree in my yard that produces 2000+ per year and all my friends and family are over here fighting too get the giant butter balls off the tree. One thing about the bacon is you have to wait until they feel like you can easily stick your finger through the skin before they are really ready.
I wish I could judge that KL, but I have not yet tasted the fuerte yet. I hope my fuerte avocado trees fruit this year. If so, I would like to see which variety I like better. I heard great things about the fuerte. Maybe a future video. Thank you for your question and thank you for watching!
The bacon is a really great avocado, I highly recommend it. I would say it was nutty and buttery and not really watery. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching!

Great video! Bacon is a great pollinator too. It's funny it seems that people either love Bacon or hate it.
Thank you BAA for your kind words. I definitely am in the camp of being a fan of the Bacon. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching!

Sounds good:) Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching!
Still doesn’t make sense. Everybody says, nutty, watery or buttery. That’s literally says nothing about the taste or feel of it. 🤷🏻♂️🤯
