2 of the best days in my life that I will never forget...Saint's winning the Super Bowl and my daughter born the day after. LOL my wife was actually in labor at the hospital getting ready to start pushing while we watched the game...she's the best.
I remember listening to this game on the radio cause I was in a jail in Bogalusa,la which doesn't have t.v. in there I'm from N.O. been a saints fan all my life and so is my family my Grandmaw and my nanny passed away a couple of yrs before and I can remember looking up at the ceiling and asking my Gmaw and nanny to guide them to win and they did lol talk about seeing a grown man cry in jail yes I was in tears. I am watching it today to take my mind off of whats going on in the world today. Stay safe everybody who reads this and stay healthy.

@@damikey18 Oh no doubt. Some coaches will take the biggest of risks and call plays to help the team score points to help win them the game. That play call was very risky. Because it could've went the other way. That's the reason I said it wasn't smart but it was gutsy. This is no insult or knock on Sean Payton's coaching ability. He sure was a hell of a great coach. He coached with balls and guts. The Colts coach coached cowardly and too conservatively
You have to live in Louisiana to understand how important this was. Especially if you lived anywhere near New Orleans. Katrina ripped us apart and the saints brought us back the same year!

Thank you so much NFL experts and pundits across the country for saying over and over that the Saints didn't stand a chance against the Colts. 31-17 baby!!! WHO DAT!!!

I remember that super bowl Sunday like it was yesterday, from watching Chris Boomer and company talking about the game around noon, the orange XLIV colors everywhere, then riding my bike outside my house, around 5PM then heading inside before the game comes on. I remember cheering the Saints on with my family, wearing the Mardi Gras beads, it was absolutely my favorite super bowl I’ve ever watched. Being a kid then, watching two legends duke it out, was absolutely a treat to watch. As a Cowboys fan, i absolutely love the Saints. Drew Brees deserved this win so bad, Sean Payton made the gutsiest call in NFL HISTORY that night. so historic.
When my mind is in a bad place and I want to get out of it, as a Saints fan, I'll watch the whole 2009 Saints NFL series, which most full games are on UA-cam, it will take me out of that bad space for a long time. This Super Bowl is eerily similar to Super Bowl XXi. A trick play in both games in the second half turned the tide. A fake punt by Bill Parcells and an onside kick suggested by Parcells to Sean Payton. Both quarterbacks almost perfect Phill Simns 22 of 25 268 yards 3 tds Drew Brees 32 of 39 288 yards 2 tds. The Giants were down 9-10 in the first half outscored Denver 30-10 in the second half. The Saints were down 6-10 in the first half outscored Indianapolis 25-7 in the second half.
Despite being a Steelers fan with no investment in either team (I was hoping the Saints would win, I always love seeing a team get their first ever ring), that onside kick to start the second half still gives me goosebumps. I’ll never forget watching it live, it had been a very forgettable first half, I was more excited for the halftime show, getting a short break from college, and the amazing spread of food my parents had prepared for that evening than anything that had happened in the game up to that point. But then the second half started and I leapt off the couch when the Saints decided to catch the Colts off guard. Conservatism and playing it safe rarely works in the big games, sometimes you have to have the balls to take a risk, and that made all the difference in this game.

I’m from Houston and was in elementary school when this happened, but I had a friend who spent his early childhood in New Orleans. When this happened, he couldn’t stop raving about the Saints and Drew Brees for weeks. The city deserves this, and even with the controversy (not that we aren’t also familiar with that), this will always be a legendary sports game and something they needed after the sheer devastation they felt.

Despite being a Steelers fan with no investment in either team (I was hoping the Saints would win, I always love seeing a team get their first ever ring), that onside kick to start the second half still gives me goosebumps. I’ll never forget watching it live, it had been a very forgettable first half, I was more excited for the halftime show, getting a short break from college, and the amazing spread of food my parents had prepared for that evening than anything that had happened in the game up to that point. But then the second half started and I leapt off the couch when the Saints decided to catch the Colts off guard. Conservatism and playing it safe rarely works in the big games, sometimes you have to have the balls to take a risk, and that made all the difference in this game.
That pile up is so much longer then I remember. Both sides knew just how much of a game changer that decision would be.

I’m from Houston and was in elementary school when this happened, but I had a friend who spent his early childhood in New Orleans. When this happened, he couldn’t stop raving about the Saints and Drew Brees for weeks. The city deserves this, and even with the controversy (not that we aren’t also familiar with that), this will always be a legendary sports game and something they needed after the sheer devastation they felt.
