How to Install Knulli Batocera on Anbernic RG35XX H & Plus

- KNULLI CFW, a less hardware intensive fork of batocera has been released for the Anbernic devices such as the RG35XX series SP & 28XX as well. There's also a release for the Trimui Smart Pro. On this video I will be installing & setting up Knulli on the RG35XX H with some gameplay demonstration & overview. Is this cfw really a better & less strenous version of Batocera? Awesome video, thanks. My RG35XX H arrived yesterday and I updated stock fw to the recent super piratey img and more stuff didn't work correctly and then I found your video here. I got KNULLI up and running in no time and it just worked. Nice little CFW props to the dev. New sub here.

I have a device running muOS and one running KNULLI and I have to say, KNULLI is my favorite. Love this OS, really impressed. Wireless data transfer out of the box, scraping is easy, default UI is great and it is packed with features.
I have many devices and have seen this theme many times but never really liked it, but for some reason, it just works very well with the RG35XX-H. You don't happen to know how to bring back game count per system, do you? That's the one thing I miss.

It hasn’t been added. Let’s hope it’s a feature they add as more handhelds add the led lights
@@SteliosElia-k9b I've read there is some console command trickery you can do to get this to work, but out of fear of bricking my OS, I think waiting is probably for the best
Nice Video. Im on a Mac and couldn’t get the Share Folder working. How to setup the Share Folder on the 2nd Sd Card Slot? Which Settings are needed here? If there are no Games available it wont start anymore. Thx
what do you thik is better? stock OS or Batocera?
I like knulli but its not perfect. I love th emustation style of knulli and easy scraper. Muos is a great experince especially if you want to use port master. But its not very convenient if you plan on using a big library of games and esthetic wise dont look as good, its more like the stock os look but better performance.
MuOs, you also have alot of themes now if you want to cusomize looks.
You know that the Bluetooth earphones does not work, right? I tried with 4 earphones... Nothing working.

First I installed GarlicOS, but it takes a lot of time to boot (I think it's RetroArch, that takes a lot of time to launch there).
When preparing the SD card for Knulli I had a problem in MacOS. Everything worked fine until Knulli updated the files in it. The device boots correctly, but then MacOS stopped recognizing the SD card. Anyway, I could open the SD card from Windows.
I think there's an extra partition that confuses MacOS, I will see if I can remove it. Now it seems there are 3 partitions: batocera, share, and this other partition that gives problems in MacOS.
My only issue is i can’t get my shader presets saved on Retroarch.
I load a preset, adjust paremeters, apply changes, but when i try to save it as a core preset or a global preset, quit the game and load another game it has no shader applied
Need help... for some reason after following every step until minute 5:20 , When I try to open the Bios Folder it pops up a alert, Locaion its not Avalible. it also hapens with Roms, Save, and Sistem Folders. Soo I was, like let me put it back to the console and open the folder connecting the console to the pc. so i did that and after pluging the sd card and ther turning on the console, it boot up all good. the logo came up and oit was loadin until it reach network pretty much half way the loading line, after reaching there the screen just go all black and wont let me do nothing. I turn it off by folding power off and it did and boot it up again to see what happens and same thing happen again. soo idk what to do
I can’t get PS one games to load 😫 I have all bios and ROMs in the proper file extension. Is there a known issue with ps games and knulli?

Windows still shows several volumes that need formatted before being used, even after deleting and creating a new volume in disk manager, not sure what to do.
You might be doing the one card setup. Is that correct? I use 2 cards. 1 to flash Knulli for the OS and another for my games. Only needed Windows to make the Knulli card. Can transfer games over with my phone.

Yea I did & you know why I did that? It’s because it didn’t work. Why it didn’t work?because I am installing Knulli & I can only use its features AFTER I install the OS…yayyyyyyy🥳🎉🥳
Also, Batocerav40’s format feature wasn’t letting me format the sd.

Knulli is trash. It's like it does a fresh install every time you turn it on. All your settings get deleted and the second SD card gets formatted every time you turn it on and all you're left with is the nine pre-installed trash games. It looks beautiful yes, but if it doesn't play games all it is is a screensaver. Not even one video on YT addressing any of this.
I installed knulli on mu rg40xx and now joysticks do not hace light. Also, some bios are missing, what can i do?
If Bios are missing acquire the bios files from other sources. As for the rgb, there should be a patch available. I haven’t tried it, I can’t really guide you on this.
Ok so Ive tried so many ways now. Ive tried using so many flash image that Im fucking tired of this. My sd card wont work. It keeps disapperaing as soon as i hit write. It always gets an error message. I have to go to diskmanagement just to delete and formate it again because i can no longer see it. Flashing doesnt work. I dont know why, if its because my micro sd card is a Sandisk Extreme microSDXC
Try it with a different sd. Or with a different disk image tool like rufus.

Have you tried cleaning it in the windows powershell command line interface? Sometimes windows doesn't like stuff that's been formated into Linux and is running into issues. The clean function in the command line I find helpful to fix old USB drives
"Open disk management and find your drive in the list. Right click on the right (longer) portion of the drive listing for your flash drive and delete the partition. Once deleted, you can create a new partition and format it.
If windows won’t let you (sometimes happens with foreign file systems) you can drop to an elevated command prompt (start menu, type cmd, right click, run as administrator) and type diskpart, then hit enter.
This will put you into the cli based disk management program. Type list disk, then hit enter. Take note of the number of your flash drive, it should be fairly easy to distinguish because of its storage capacity. Once noted, type sel disk then hit enter. Then type clean and hit enter. Be aware that the clean command will wipe all partition information, and therefore data from the drive, so be sure about the drive number you’re selecting.
Once cleaned, you can repartition the drive by typing create par pri and hitting enter. And format it by typing format fs=fat32 or format fs=ntfs depending on which is preferable (or supported, as fat32 only supports partitions up to 32gb)."
Ugh I have Batocera running and it was easy to install on this thing using a Mac. But seeing you get a vanishing partition is worrying. On Mac you have to go to Terminal to do that sort of thing and it is convoluted. I dont want to waste a SD card putting Knulli on if the partition will disappear like this after flashing.
Most of the time that Share partition gets created automatically on the first boot. Sometimes it doesn’t. But there are chances.

my laptop dont have win32 disk imager, will it work if i just paste it on the card?
No, that does not work. If it did, everybody would be doing that. You can download it. It's free. Just be careful of viruses.
how did you go back to the main menu to choose different game? and how do i change disk 1 insert from the legend of dragoon in knulli operating system?
Press the button on the top to the left of the r2 button.

@@DrBrute7 No, it's something strange. I press the hotkey + b button and enter the drastic configuration menu and when I go to the cheats, if I want to leave it tells me it's the button KB escape to return to the menu (which is the select button) but I can't exit.
In configure controls > extra controls, change the button to exit the menu, but once I enter the cheats I still can't get out.
I have to restart the console to be able to exit
@@kidosamav5397 That's not good. You could wind up corrupting your memory card if you keep restarting it. Be careful.
@@Cyko.. oh really? I suppose it would happen just by changing the memory card, but I'm a little desperate with the cheats, playing Pokemon Ranger becomes even more difficult xD
@@kidosamav5397 Well be careful. There is a reason why there is a shut down menu option.
All of my NDS games crash before they are able to start up, I get the BIOS warning notif and I hit yes but the game isn't able to start. I put the bio7. bio9. and firmware.bin files in the bios folder but it still does not work. My games are .nds files. Any help?
That means there’s an issue with the bios file configuration. I need to look into it & will let you know.

just deleate ext4 partition and then create a full exFAT partition along with batocera one...dont create NTFS as the video or it will not work.

No.
can you teach what should i do in 2 SD card set up?
its the same as 1 card set up, just after you install the OS insert the second SD and the device will automatically format it and create the folders setup, then take the 2nd SD card and now put your ROMS in the respective ROM folder the OS created

how many minutes does it takes to resize the filesystem? I used rufus to flash the CFW is that fine?
Yea rufus is fine too. On windows it just takes a couple of seconds.

I'm getting sick. Using Mac here. Stock OS won't see SD card 2, MuOS OK but runs slow, Botacera so many games freeze, Knulli no share partition and Disk Utility won't show it to me...

I had the same issue. I had to re-Flash Knulli and not take it out of the RG35 after the first boot. For some reason it doesn't like it. Iuse both Mac and Linus to add files. Very easy actually, just make sure to be on the same exact network. Using your phone as a Hot Spot works also to transfer files from pc to RG35.

knuli wont read my second sd card games why is that the stock os could read them
Knulli only reads cards that are formatted to ex4 which is a Linux format that Windows can't read or write to. Stock OS uses formats that Windows can read.
did he just delete the data in the drive only to Flash the SD card with a new Drive Img that Will Wipe the old drive img off the card before it Flash the new img drive on to it?

Uhhh he did that because, A, he wanted to show how to flash the image on a new sd card. B, there’s two partitions that gets created by the OS or needs to be manually created…it needs to be annexed. Just to make sure the system partition has enough space for the OS.

100%. I'd much rather have the ability to transfer my files quickly rather than over WiFi which takes forever. I haven't had any issues with stock.

Some psp games like megaman metalslug works fine but games like gta doesn’t run too well. Psx is fine.
