How to Invest in a Roth IRA (3 Easy Steps)

- Don't let the complexity of investing stop you from investing in your Roth IRA. In just 3 steps, you can get started on your Roth IRA investing journey.
1. Open up a Roth IRA. This can be done at most financial institutions. I use Vanguard but most people find it easiest to stick with whatever financial institution they already have a relationship with. Many apps like Robinhood and M1 Finance also offer Roth IRAs and are a good choice.
2. Fund your Roth IRA. This is typically done through a bank transfer.
3. Invest. Index funds are a collection of stocks and/or bonds, covering a broad range of companies. Since this is a retirement account, target date retirement funds are a great option. These funds will start holding a lot of stocks and gradually (and automatically!) shift to holding more bonds as you get closer to your retirement year.

I just switched up my Roth IRA to 50% SCHD, 25% SCHX, 25% SCHG, and my Roth 401k is 70% vanguard S&P 500 index, 20% vanguard growth index, and 10% vanguard international index. Seeking best possible ways to grow $350k into $1m+ before retirement in 3 years.
consider financial advisory so you don’t keep switching it up... those sound like great picks anyways, not bad for 350k
Agreed, I'm in line with having an advisor oversee my day-to-day investing cos, my job doesn't permit me the time to analyze stocks myself. Thankfully, my portfolio has 5X in barely 5 years, summing up nearly $1m as of today.
this is huge! would you mind revealing info of your advisor here please? in dire need of portfolio rebalancing
I take guidance from a Montana based advisor ''Katherine Nance Dietz'' To be honest, I almost didn't buy the idea of letting someone handle growing my finance, but so glad I did.
curiously inputted Katherine Nance Dietz on the web, spotted her consulting page at once, and was able to schedule a call session. Ive seen commentaries about advisors but not one looks this phenomenal
Thank you so much!! Love how this is straight to the point. ❤
Thank you so much!!!
Increasing tax rates are the reason I rolled over my 401k to a Roth. I don’t want to be 59 paying taxes on current income on withdrawals made from my retirement account.
Pre-tax contributions may help reduce income taxes in your pre-retirement years while after-tax contributions may help reduce your income tax burden during retirement.
I have thought about it, but haven't figured out how to get consultation, I don’t live in a big city.
What is her fee structure like? Are her services available to about anyone? Can you share more details?
Impressive, I took a look at your advisr. I set up an appointment. I’m Looking forward to her reply, I hope she sees my message.
Bro you’re on every ROTH IRA video I’ve seen in the last 5 scrolls! 😂 are you just copy and pasting on every video!?!?
I literally looked up how to sell….
What if are income is past the limit?
No video show how to withdraw, ugh!
Do roth ira accounts only exist in the usa?🤔 asking from canada🙌🏻
Don’t worry about it, just cross the border
Still I have a question! So do my company separately deposite Roth IRA? I can see it is deducted from my paycheck but heck I can’t find where it is depsoited to😩
You are probably putting money into a 401k, not an IRA. Your HR department should be able to explain it to you. You set up and contribute to an IRA by yourself.
@@damondiehl5637 actually I have separate 401k 15% and now I added 5% Roth IRA to it. I can see my 401k on Fidelity and I do see my Roth IRA account on Fidelity too. I have start contribution for Roth IRA few months back, I have check my paystub and it's like 1.5k already deducted, but Fidelity ROth IRA balance is still 0.00 🥸
I finally get it lol
Can you auto withdraw monthly on these funds?
Generally, yes. You have to talk to the financial institution that is holding your IRA and set that up.
What if I plan to retire at 25 😅 do I set the TDF for that year
