Great video, thanks. If I may correct you, you mentioned that you have to be a US Citizen to be able to open a Roth IRA. True, however, a legal Green Card Resident is also elegible to participate/open a Roth IRA.

A resident alien with a valid social security number can also open a Vanguard account
I have vanguard but my 20 year old is on track to open with fidelity. Allowing him to skip rent to save $250 for 4 weeks=$1000.00 to open account. The "gruntleness" from some family of that 4 week decision is insane. He is on task 💵$!

Great video once again! I never thought of a Roth IRA for children (custodial account), so this is definitely something I am going to look into. Question I have is; what is the maximum annual amount I can pay our children for doing chores, that is below the tax threshold but still being eligible for adding to the Roth IRA? Or is this not possible? I would appreciate it if you could explain how you fund these custodial accounts for your children while they are still minors.
Roth IRAs for kids are a great way for them to secure their future retirement early!
They do need to have documented earned income. While I’m not a tax professional, it is my understanding that chores don’t count.

Thanks- I loved this video! Based on your video, I think my child is eligible for a custodial Roth IRA now but what will happen when they are off to university and may not have a job some or all of that time?
Great question! They can contribute on the years they earn income. The years they don’t earn income, they can’t contribute. But that shouldn’t affect contributions you/they made in previous years.
My nephew did that. Had a summer job and made $3,000. Contributed most of it that year. But didn’t have earned income the following year. No worries!

This is too general. We need detail guide on how to actually to invest using the money you added through vanguard. Because vanguard user interface is super confusing. By words the steps sound simple but in practical, no clue what to do LOL

Better is relative to the investor as VOO tracks the S&P 500 and VTSAX tracks all publically traded stocks. There will be more mid-sized and smaller companies in VTSAX vs. VOO as VOO focuses on 500 companies vs. almost 4,000 companies in VTSAX.

No annual fee. Contribute when you can or want to.
There are expense ratios with the funds you purchase so it's important to be aware of those.
