The whole album is top tier. I rly wish they’d do more together.
It’s a shame the No Doubt guys are not out there still making lots of music, with Havok OR Stefani. All incredibly talented musicians, and I’m basically convinced that No Doubt stumbled upon the fountain of youth somewhere in the early 2000s because every single one of them looks like they haven’t aged a day.
That's the thing about immortality, you do your fame then you get out :P
I saw Gwen in a Whole Foods in Los Angeles. I didn’t approach her because I’m not a celebrity chaser.
But trust me, she has aged.
Cameras and lighting plays tricks on you.
Real life doesn’t.
SIX YEARS later and this is still one of the best power pop albums ever. Bold AND nuanced. Super high energy but dark in all the right places. Amazing production. Thanks, guys. You nailed it. It's not on you the whole world didn't get it. It the whole world's loss that they didn't.
Half of the lyrics are "woah oh oh" dude, calm down.
@@MagickP00dleNah. He is right. The lads were onto something here and that’s clear to anyone that listened to the album.
@@OptimusPrim4l I'm anyone. This is mid.
@@MagickP00dle I mean, your opinion certainly is but to each his own.
@@MagickP00dle I believe that's part of the chorus which is usually repeated during a song 😉
They need to bring this band back. This is the type of music that transcends generations
they are playing at Cruel World Festival, May 11 2024. maybe they'll drop a new song?
They did for Cruel World Saturday I was there watching their set from backstage they are Good
Davey Havok is incapable of making bad music or bad looks
it took me a second to realize it was him lol
And yet, I don't see so many people excited about XTRMST or even good old Son of Sam ;)
@@rotten87 That XTRMST is too much...
@@rotten87 Xtrmst is a hell of a hardcore band. It's just a niche genre is all
Due to Gwen coming out with a new album, I thought to myself, "I want a No Doubt tour. I wonder what happened to those guys?"
And now I'm here. Why haven't I heard this sooner? This is amazing!
Yeah same. I just randomly came across some article from 2017 about this hybrid group.
That guitar delay is right off a flock of seagulls track haha. This reminds me of the 80's so much.
I heard this on the radio and fell in love. I love the "modern nostalgia" They are putting out. It's a nice shout out to 90's kids. They combine old and new so well.
If you guys continue to put music out like this, I will be a life long fan.
sounds 80s to me
No Doubt or AFI purists who want to hate - you do you, but do you know anything else that sounds like this? Fresh, new, beautiful music with a tinge of nostalgia, still totally their own sound. This is delightful, and I wish you could appreciate it for what it is, instead of harping on it for what it isn't, and what you knew it wouldn't be before you came to listen to it.
....80s new wave?... hahah no i love it but this isn't the most unique thing ever. Definitely fresh and amazing
Haha, I'm not trying to be pretentious, I promise. I don't think it's the MOST UNIQUE MUSIC EVAAAAAR; it's definitely inspired by new wave. But it's still original music, and it's still current while maintaining new wave style integrity. I think it's pretty damn special. :)
The Cure. It's dope, but it sounds like The Cure.
I love the song. can't say the same about the video tho
@orphenshadow are you serious? are you listening to any underground music at all? it's all 90s.
Davey looking like a cross between Freddy mercury and sascha baron Cohen tho
lol
British then
Yesssss
I agree! But Davey is a cross between cultural icon and a savior among beautiful hearts!!!!❤️🖤
A young William Dafoe
As much as I love me some AFI, this side project is pretty damn cool. It's a nice throwback to the new wave and post punk aesthetics of the 80's.
And seeing Davey in that mustache reminds me of Dorian Pavus from Dragon Age and I'm here for it
90s dude lol no doubt is very 90s with the guitar style alot of " wah" peddle 80s is a completely different story
@@jessemonster7292 Yeah, No Doubt was a 90's band, but this isn't No Doubt! I agree, a very new wave kind of sound. Honestly, not my cup of tea really, but it's still kind of cool.
So I wasn't the only one who immediately thought of Dorian Pavus from Dragon Age! lmao
I think of Gomez or Mortimer goth and I love it 😂
@@ThatMidnightRambler I loved it too!!
They're back!!!
If you had played this for me with no video and said it was from an indie band and came out originally in 1984 I would have believed it. That's a compliment.
If this song was released back in 1986, it would have become one of the biggest songs of the year.
I really enjoy the song, but man does it conjure up 2005 feels. Immediate post-punk/nu-wave vibes ala The Bravery, The Killers, etc. Hey, I am all for bringing that back around again!
2005???? Hilarious! Lets try 1985! And its killer for sure!!!!!!!!
I agree. This is the whole mid 2000s garage indie sound like The Bravery or The Cinematics.
Havok this is in no way post punk more like pop 80s
Reminds me of +44
@@rsb9719 Well yeah, but that's the sound that the 2005 wave of bands were bringing back.
This has everything in the album. Davey's voice, No doubt's sound, Throw in some Duran Duran / She Wants Revenge nuances. I am only embarrassed that i have only discovered this now. I was listening to blaqk audio and one of Dreamcars songs came on and i immediately perked up when i heard the voice. I was so pleased to discover what this project was right after looking it up. Thank you for this
I was trying to figure out that 80's sound and you nailed it. Duran Duran!
Me too! I only discovered them recently when I was looking through the festival lineup of Cruel World 2024 & I saw their picture like, "Who's this Dream Car? Hold up, wait, that's Davey & fuckin' No Doubt?!"
I just heard about this amazing band for the first time last week, and I've been listening to the album on repeat ever since. I think it's the first time that I love every song on an album when hearing it for the first time. Thank you Dreamcar for bringing this masterpiece of an album to life, the world needed that!
From one Michelle to another,
I agree!
Yes
Still 5 years later,
Love it! 💞
I'm an AFI "purist" and I think this is great!
We worked with No Doubt in the late 1980's and early 1990's. This is fantastic, great to see how well they've grown, oh and only these guys can do this :-)
You were the first ones in supporting them. I'd kiss you right now..
@@naokisan07 Yep, one of the first in the early days. Thank you for such a great comment. 🎸🥁🎶
@@WorldRockumentaryChannel Thank you for replying! You have now a new Sub and fan!
@@naokisan07 You're one of the best fans now🎸🎶🥁.
I could not love this more..... Davey is a perfect touch.
I'm disgustingly obsessed with this. GOD HAVE MERCY ON MY SOUL
I wasn't a huge fan of the entire album but in my opinion, this song is better than 99% of what No Doubt has put out.
@Esneyk nebulous Opinions are subjective.
~ I wouldn't kill for candy but might missmurder. Leaving now, to get medicated & jam with 17 snow cats. Thank you for posting Davey Havok's latest incarnation ~ Cheers, DAVEDJ ~
I love Davey Havok's moustache
I'm glad The Killers are back making music again.
Love This.. Love ND & AFI
Part of me can't help but picture Gwen singing these songs, and wondering if she'd do them justice. I feel like it's "New" on steroids, and the New Wave sound is spot on. Good stuff. High School-Me and Middle School-Me are very pleased.
This is pure euphoria! Did not know how this project would sound and I am blown away. Perfect hints of all my favorite genres. You guys are killing it! And cannot wait to hear more!
No Doubt this is not AFI
i feel so happy with Dreamcar
Dave ... remember back in 1998 .. I was screwed with out a ride from gilman and you gave me a ride home to walnut creek..once again thanks man. It's scary to think back gilman street wasn't the nicest part of town.
Aaron Ruiz Dang, that’s not a short drive either...
Freddie Mercury is soooo versatile here - he can sing new wave
after this I suddenly listened to Xtrmst.. damn Davey havok can change genres but still fit to it
Hahaahah did the exact same thing. DAVEY is awesome!
The sing sounds, feels , and remains timeless due to the staying power of the instrumentation and whimsicsl yet almost ambient vocals that Davey Havok has layd down for this track The video itself is magical & seems to be shot from POV/Panorama angle's it's simply fucking badass
Very cool beat .Reminds of that 80's new wave 😍
Yep...hay day 1985 top shelf new wave for sure! Love them and most of their songs that are out!
THAT MOTHERFUCKING FREDDY MERCURY MUSTACHE
WEEEEEEE ARE THE DESPAIR FACTION, MY FRIEEEENDS
AND WE'LL FIGHT DEPRESSION TIL THE ENDDDDD
WEEEE ARE THE FACTION, YES WE ARE THE FACTION!
Expecting an upcoming song to be titled "I Wanna Ride A Bicycle (but Mom Won't Let Me Get One)"
this is an amazing fusion of musicians and it feels so right
Davey is living an 80s fantasy these days. This sounds like Davey is at an obscure karaoke bar in London or something. Cuz it sounds like one of those decent 80s songs from some forgotten band
DAVEY HAVOK IS DA MAAAAAAAN! ! ! ! ! ! !
This is amazing! Yes its the guys from No Doubt and Davey from AFI, No it doesn't sound like either band, and that is perfect!
Very cool vocals
Love Tony, Tom and Adrian, they’ve always been one of the tightest and best rhythm sections out there
That was utterly awesome..... my ears want more please. I'm a big Depeche, New Order, and The Cure fan who really digs hearing some of these influences coming back in big ways in todays music scene. We need much more of this.
mmmhmmmm.........yep yep i second all that! Just watched the live performance on Late Show and i watched it back over20 times!!! Almost made me feel stoked and sad at the same time! Just turned 49 but this takes me back to my hay day times!!!!!! Great song and they have a few others i dig as well!!!!!!!!!!! keep killin it and haters go....what ever dont even have time to waste time on haters!
You should definitely give Honeybeard a listen, their single is Hummingbird... if you love Depeche, and New Order you'll dig their sound
ROBSHERI B
Keith D exactly the same here. grew up listening to new order/Joy Divison , the cure ect because of my dad, but independently found No Doubt. and to have Tom Tony & Adrian in a band that is a basically inspired by 80's Synth electronic is fucking amazing.
You should definitely give the band Honeybeard a listemn.. I feel like you'd love them
This should’ve been in the radio.
I love this. The sound is incredible. Takes me back but yet it’s something new.
This is amazing.
Encore!!!!!
Fuck yeah! This is awesome. For any other "retro" music fans, make sure you check out Perturbator, Carpenter Brut, Mega Drive, GosT, Surgeryhead, LeBrock, NeoSlave and tons of the other awesome Synthwave acts.
I have listened to Davey in AFI since I was 13 in 2003.
I honestly think his voice was made for this type of music.
This song is SO GOOD!
Feels like a new AFI album.
I want to find a man of equal parts wit, rebel, and sexiness in the exact way Davey Havok exudes. I love this pairing, their sound and aesthetic.
So good. So so so good. I can't wait to see what else you guys bring. 💚
I could've bet my life savings Tony Kanal would drive a P100D.
Came here expecting something I wouldn't care for but god damn. This is tight. Nice to see musicians you like trying different things.
The sound is like something that would have hit the top of the charts in the 80s. I like it.
remember when afi was a hardcore band, and no doubt was a ska band? I was curious about dreamcar...and i was not disappointed. this is killer.
HOLY SMOKES I HAD NO IDEA TWO OF MY FAVORITE BANDS JOINED AND DAVEY HAS A FLIPPIN *MUSTACHE*??! IS THIS EVEN REAL LIFE???
Davey Havok is a music god.
Wow, this song just took me back to the 80s! It's like listening to a fresh take on my childhood!
DREAMCAR FUCKING RULES!!!!! That ENTIRE ALBUM IS PERFECTION!!!! I have it on cd AND VINYL
Good luck with this new project !!! From Argentina !!!
How does Davey kills for candy? I didn't know this song was sung was Davey and is one of my favs. I'm really impressed 😲😲
I'm so glad that separately they knew of each other and appreciated their musical talents so much to make a band together. this is amazing
I didn’t have super high hopes but I absolutely love this!!!
This song/band makes me so happy. How come I didn't hear about this earlier?
refreshingly good, no need to over evaluate
I love this song....I wish it was a little longer!!
Love the sound! Very much like 80’s new order, new wave ❤
I’d rather see them tour than no doubt.
um wtf I never heard of you guys....DUDE WHAAT
Wow from afi to this...what a journey
I influenced the lyrics in this song. Once I read the book 1984 and I wrote the lesson of the story was "understanding". That's where the "misunderstand" in this song comes from.
Wow I couldn’t even tell this was Davey Havok when I first saw this
One of my favorite songs of the year
i like that little 80's touch in there :)
I love AFI, I really like No Doubt, and I enjoy this song. Davey does look like he is about to 'do the creep' though...which unnerves me...
What the heck? This is awesome.
I love this song! U did a great work, guys. ♡
Pretty cool song, most if not all groups fade when the lead singer leaves. Good job guys.
So underrated!
Criminally underrated album. I was own away by the songs, it has AFI DNA there but twisted by No Doubt vibe in the most positive way. I wish they could produce a second album.
Speaking as an old person, this was giving me "Sparx, Cool Places" look it up kids!!
*I NEED MORE OF THIS!!!*
this is amazing! Gwen was really slacking over the past years. I'm glad they picked up Davey because his lyrics are spectacular and his stage presence is on point. no doubt is an great band and I can see these guys doing well for a while
You’re dumb… you have to be trolling. This dudes lyrics are worse than a 5th graders. His voice is terrible. This band is a dead beat now. This is the worst song I’ve ever heard. I honestly don’t Believe you at all. There is no way ur being serious. His lyrics are worse than Mumble rappers. This techno beat is god awful. The very instance Gwen left. This band went to dog shit coming out of an antelopes ass hole with a bird sitting on its back while it poops in Africa. That’s this band
Incredible sound and vocals !!! Retro 80s vibe !!!! Love it !!!
I cannot wait to listen all what you do! is awesome!
I have a feeling this will definitely be my song for the summer! Can't wait to hear it live in May!
I love Davey Havoc
This needs more views. Amazing job guys! So happy for you. The chemistry is so organic and those guitar riffs kill me TOM!
No Doubt i'm going to enjoy this album! Enjoy the action and keep making beautiful music lads!
I came here to watch the video - and be those old guys in the balcony from the Muppets - and then - the song actually kicks ass - so there's that
lmao
Heckle and Jeckle lol
Perfect. You don't even know, lol
I wish I had Davey's hair and voice. I'd be the next Supreme Leader.
YOU'RE HAVING A CONCERT IN 2 DAYS, WHERE'S THE REST OF THE MUSIC!!??? I NEED MOOOOOORE
this is bringing back a lot of good feelings from the past. love it!
Whatever music davey tom and tony do is amazing especially together
Certainly better than the last no doubt album.
Okay, will own this album tomorrow.
Gwen is stunning as usual
OMG Davey!!!! 😱😱😱
Massive Afi/ Blaqk Audio fan, I live in Scotland so the closest gig was Manchester! You beta believe I'm going to Manchester!
I never knew I needed to see Davey with a mustache
