    Great video!! It is worth mentioning that the best way to get the silent drain is to slightly adjust the valve. Major adjustments won't work so well! Click the valve once, let the system adjust and re-adjust as needed. My Reefer 250 has been setup for 17ish months and I've had no issues with the valve or noise! Oh yeah RedSea customer support is great if you need something!

      Do you still have the 250? How is it after all this time? Did you have any problems with it?

    If my Ex's Mama can clomp around in my place without falling through.. this tank should be fine.

    Great video. It explained a lot of things to me about setting up a sump system.
    I’ve never had a sump as they can be noisy and I worry they may leak.
    I might go for a sump system after seeing this video.
    Can you tell me if there is any noise from the intake of the tank or in the sump?

    Is there anyway to set up a refugium? I would like to have one but do not know how to install and if one is needed. Will it help keep good nutrients in my aquarium? Another reason why I am asking is because I would like to get a ruby red dragonet. Supposedly refugiums help with copapods which they eat. I love your informative and detailed videos! Thanks you for listening! Please reply and keep making great videos!

    Thanks for this video and all the videos that you guys produce. I feel like you have educated me to the point that I can have a successful reef tank and this red reef 250 what I am considering. But as a newbie, one of the missing links in the chain is quarantine. I actually think this could be a opportunity for BRS to offer some sort of turn key quarantine system. Red Reef offers a turn key reef tank. Everyone needs a quarantine system - tank, light, heater, pump, etc.. How about some sort of review or education on this? One of my thought is to have a small tank for a refugium and then use it as a quarantine when I get something new as I don't expect to be adding new fish or corals all that frequently. But can I take a refugium off line for a month or so without throwing off the display system? And the light and pump will probably be different so it may not really work anyway. So there is this void in my knowledge that I am looking to you to fill. Thank you!!

      Very good suggestion! We've been bringing in a few different fish medications onto our website recently, so we'll be better able to serve our customers' QT needs once we stock the necessary meds.

    Great video! You sold me! But Randy, Randy, Randy, you put the sand in before the rock! ;) Question on cycling... you said to wait a month before introducing your first fish. I've found with my freshwater tanks that you want to put a few fish in to enter and cycle nutrients and the BIG thing, a cleanup crew or you'll be fighting algae FOREVER! Is this different in a salt tank? Opinions?

    does just the tank purchase come with pumps ready for use or do you need additional parts?

    • @BRStv
      @BRStv  5 років тому

      The Red Sea Reefer tanks will not come with a return pump. There are a variety of tank sizes that require different size return pumps, but the Varios pumps are ones that we'd highly recommend.

    In this video you don't mention doing a 100% water change after putting in the reefsaver rock,sand and the Dr. Tims and letting it sit for a month. However on your website it is advised. I am setting up a brand new red sea 350 with reefsaver rock. Kinda hate to discard 80 gallons of water if its not necessary,.

    So I had a jbj65 crack on me yesterday and I'm now regretting my decision even more that I didn't go with the Reefer 250. I had 2 mp10's from Eco Tech for flow on that tank, would those be a good idea for this one? I'm not even sure I'm 100% going to replace it as I lost everything I had in the tank as I was home alone when it cracked.

    • @BRStv
      @BRStv  4 роки тому

      Two MP10s will get you in the right direction, but for the size of the Reefer250, I think you will find that you might want to supplement them with one or two more pumps. Gyres or crossflow type pumps are my favorite choice for tanks like the Reefer250 size! :)

    Hi what can be done to eliminate sunlight effecting your tank.

    • @BRStv
      @BRStv  4 роки тому

      If you're concerned about sunlight, tank placement is going to be the biggest factor. You could also consider using window tint like material on the outside of the tank on the sides that are affected. Obviously, you'd want to avoid that on the front viewing panel, however.

    Came here to see how to setup the ato.. all this seems to be is a commercial heh.

    • @BRStv
      @BRStv  2 роки тому

      The Red Sea Reefer tanks have a very simple gravity fed ATO system. Once you run the line from the included ATO reservoir to the float valve, you'll first fill up the sump to the proper water height, then fill the ATO reservoir with fresh RODI water. That's it! 🙂

    I like the reader series but the sumps are stupid! Why are they not the full size of the cabinet with a separate skimmer and fuge area.

    • @Thegasman-hc3zz
      @Thegasman-hc3zz 6 років тому

      BulkReefSupplyCom i always saw the reefer as a second or many there after tank not a first tank. It makes sense as the light and skimmer and even the return pump are all up to the individual. Then to go against all that sense they throw in, in my opinion, a crappy sump. Also this Channel and it's evidence based approach is the reason I went for a decent sized fuge!
