Love how listening to tunes on youtube has become the new forum for arguments and trolling. Props to those still leaving messages of love for the artists! BIG props to Coki.... timeless! :)
And yet the best producers stayed underground (big ups to DMZ crew!) which is WHY everyone who appreciates real dubstep hates he-who-must-not-be-named. He branded and commercialised a real gem in the music industry... and then gutted it alive for profit.
I got nothing but time and history. I hope one day to remind people where it all came from. And for me. All of the forgotten lives in the present. This kind of music has evolved so fast. Elements that made it great have been neglected. It will change.
so because i wasnt listenin to dubstep in the 90s when i was 5 years old i dont have your respect, great ideas fresh outta from ur brain man, now im 18 years old and im bumpin old school dub all day lovin the music and its awsome vibe
hello everyone! ive been trying to remember this dub/dubstep artist for ages. all i remember is in one of the song names it had "*something* of the rising sun" i think? something similar. and i think it had an album cover of some animal roaring while looking at the sky, like a wolf but it was maybe a lion or something totally different. i dont remember the artists name whatsoever but i do remember in the same song that had "of the rising sun" in the title, there was a sample in it that had goku or gohan from dragon ball z screaming "kamahamaha" really fast right before a small dub drop. was mainly dub than dubstep i think. was kinda like magnetic man or mainly skream. or some older dub artists before dubstep got more aggressive in the 2010s. many thanks!]
I’ve got a good question if anyone can answer, a song by caspa I’m pretty sure, album cover has a person dropping a grenade, and the drop has someone saying “….. rude boy” idk what’s said in the beginning.
ive only listened to one skrillex tune and thought it wasnt too bad. it was better than alot of 'dubstep' coming out nowadays. but on a musical level its absolutely no match to the original, experimental, deep bass tracks like coki, loefah, skream etc.. this is fucking incredible music.
Let's just argue about how fantastic this fantastic piece of art is. Me: this is so good Other guy: No! This is very fucking good. Me: no, this is fucking amazingly good.
I only recently started listening to dubstep but I love many different artists and different styles of the genre. I don't really know the tiny technical differences and I really don't understand why everyone has to argue about this shit. I just love THE MUSIC. I like this slow type of dubstep AND the type that, as you said, goes "wubwubwubwub". You don't have to have exceptional knowledge of the genre just to enjoy the music. Can't we all just get a-bong?
Love coki my favorites i lost my heart in wetherspoons toilet doing lines of ganja with this bloke i met outside mcdonalds vol 2 the return of the mcdonalds guy. Best ep ever
not getting in the middle of any e quabble but coki has been operating the DMZ lable since like 04 or around then, and has been spinning/producing jungle and dubstep for much longer than that.
Yea I feel you, Defenitely prefer 'old-school' Dubstep over the new brostep... The essence of the production is sooo much different. I really really like BSE, I sooo want to thank you for that, exactly what i needed, and they're from Holland too, so could easily go see them. I already listened noisa, really like sub focus' old stuff too. Always thought EDM was so flat and boring (came rom metalscene). But oldschool DnB and Dubstep is so sick. If you got reccomendations, keep em coming (: thanks
I used to think dubstep was just like the stuff from skrillex but this is not even comparable to that Like okay I like new dubstep as well but this is really diffrent and I get why people got upset over the changes like I said not even comparable with newer dubstep (I mean to say that this is amazing as well and I get why people think this is better)
this used to be one of my fav tunes back in the day. BUT, does anyone know if the track sounds same on the 12" record as here ? i have always wondered why it sounds so shitty at some parts, like the sound is messed up, you can all hear it clearly too right ? so, any input on this would be much appreciated .
Damn, I wonder what the hell goes on in Coki's head as he's making a tune. How he chooses his ragga samples, making his nasty synths... it'd be cool to sit down and chill with the guy, he seems so quiet and contained :D
@subvandals its a bit of square bass, yeh obvs sine sub as u said, sounds like maybe annother square/triangle on top an octave up but detuned slightly to make it edgy. bit of reverb and compression and there u go. basses are normally simpler to recreate than u think, just mess around with whatever you use, using a simple synth with 2 or 3 oscillators.
It absolutely was and makes me wish dubstep purists would swallow their pride and just settle with a subgenre. This style should live on, but it's so difficult to find it anywhere because "dubstep" has been redefined over the years and purists refuse to use a different genre name. And I'm not hating on new dubstep. I think they're just skilled in different ways from pure dubstep artists. It's an apples to oranges comparison. Anyone saying they are the same or trying to compare the two is an idiot.
I know dubstep allstars 1-8 inside out ; p though awesome, they`re just compilations. I need ALL OF IT! Complete discographies of Coki, Mala, The Others, Loefah, D1, Kode9, Horsepower Productions, Hatcha would satisfy me ; p
Now, that's what I call: A bassline you'd expect only Coki to make.
Love how listening to tunes on youtube has become the new forum for arguments and trolling. Props to those still leaving messages of love for the artists! BIG props to Coki.... timeless! :)
good dubstep makes you bob your head in your chair in that "chill reggae" style, not make you want to have a seizure.
totally depends on your liking. I love new dubstep as well as old dubstep.
This is real music not that bro shit
Got any more things which you can feel?
Well technically *Brostep* is a sub genre.
😂
@@namelesswonder6827 no
Damn why isnt this still around? This is REAL dubstep
Massive tune. Such class, like a knife wearing a tuxedo.
coki is such an amazing all around producer and anyone who has listened to him from all the old dmz stuff to now will understand what i mean.
And yet the best producers stayed underground (big ups to DMZ crew!) which is WHY everyone who appreciates real dubstep hates he-who-must-not-be-named. He branded and commercialised a real gem in the music industry... and then gutted it alive for profit.
Yo también disfruto este dubstep, pero tampoco es para tirar barro al brostep.
Skrilla
He uses that snare so much in his tracks. With the feedback on the delay down and the wet/dry on bout 6 --- fucking love it :)))
This is my go to tune for testing any new speakers I get. Works every time 😁
Sad it's just 480p but stills amazing
I love old school dubstep. It obviously sounds like a fusion of dub reggae and 2 step garage which is what dubstep is supposed to sound like.

yes, someone who agrees !
😂😂😂
I have no idea how Coki gets such a nice bass sound, the sub is obvious but the actual sound of the bass is perfect!!
Welcome to my dimension. Slew dem.
You will never hear me say a bad word about skrillex, to each its own. But this is DMZ, pay respect where respect is BLOODCLART due.
So nice to listen to Coki's tunes when your stoned!

The song, you talking about, is probably Coki - Animal.
Mala - Maintain Thru Madness?

coki is a madman.
bigup on this one
a coki banger + fat blunt = relaxation + more controlled substances = nirvana!
Let's just argue about how fantastic this fantastic piece of art is.
Me: this is so good

yessss boi, im from gloucestershire. We do it big style in stroud bley.

dub, is a kind of reggae music. dubstep came from kind of mixing 2step and dub, thats why you hear alot of reggae vocals in most early dubstep pieces.
YESS!

I have to wonder, what the people at DMZ think about how dub step has become such a mainstream genre in the music industry these days??
So this is what dubstep was like? It is completely different from today
It absolutely was and makes me wish dubstep purists would swallow their pride and just settle with a subgenre. This style should live on, but it's so difficult to find it anywhere because "dubstep" has been redefined over the years and purists refuse to use a different genre name.
