damn, cold shivers every time again i hear this. this track introduced me to dubstep in winter 2005 (on my bicycle 2 school) : for me still one of the freshest tracks ever produced in the genre.
listening to this right after the richie spice song it's named after is so cool and dark as fuck. like this soulful and uplifting reggae song turns into this weird, intense, brooding dubstep and its freeky
HPP's 'In Fine Style' is from 2002. 2006 was when dubstep started picking up steam. Children of Men came out in 2006, and was the first mainstream film, to my knowledge, to feature dubstep in its soundtrack. Digital Mystikz and Kode9 had tracks in it.
First dub track I'd ever heard, first one I fell in love with many years ago & still to this day it never fails to excite me & bring me to that place of pure grime. Bless
I like listening to their tracks and hearing each artists influence. I just get the feeling coki wanted a more abrasive vibe, and mala softened it, the two artists work so well together. That classic Coki snare too, get me erry dai.
For REAL! Trust me this Drops like a hammer to ur face through a decent set of Headphones and Amp... hearing this Live... I don't think I'd have a face when he got done :3
***** Wait so music is not cultural? Are you saying that different music all originated in the same place? hahah you are a fool. By Canadian stuff i was referring to stuff like datsik and brostep. As for how i sound i suggest you read your comment again.
***** Fair enough.I'm not saying all music out of Canada is bad. However in this context of dubstep and its sucessors im not really impressed with what they have brought to the table, when i made that comment i used to like stuff like datsik and i thought wow this is so much better and expressed that.
GREENPAND4 This is true dub. The other stuff from canada, I assume you mean datsik and excision used to sound similar back in the day. I think of most todays dubstep as simply noise. Coki and Mala(Digital Mystikz) were some of the original pioneers of the sound. If you get a chance to see them I highly suggest you do, you will not be disappointed.
Hey guys do you have any idea where can i buy this (and other early dmz tracks) in flac or wav??? I've checked most of the websites dealing with this genre and I found nothing. thanks, peace&respect
Brayden O could you get me some dubstep with some electro mixed with brostep some low drums with extra scratch with my dubstep , please... JK bro , same i love these kinds of dub...
I love this Dubstep and the New Dubstep everyone calls fascist. Music changes fast, I enjoy anything UKF or Americanized Dubstep I still Dig it and they both make for a fine time to get high and chill.
mmm man o man, why did Dub Step move away from this... I miss the days when Mala, Digital Mystikz, Skream and cats like Coki where king! *sigh* oh well more dark and Dirty Dub Step for us right ;3
Dubstep this, dubstep that, I'm on board with what mala himself said back in the day and used to get irate about it 😂. "what is dubstep exactly why does everything have to be in a box or labeled"
Because there is absoloutley nothing wrong with them apart from the price. the bass output is enough for this and they can handle quiet low frequencies.
I think its the type of base. basicially the drums have stayed the same the entire time. its a basic kick snare or kick clap. but the bass was deffinently diffrent. its more dark and evil sounding. and like alot of its solid sub bass. now a days its all square and saw waves.
I was living in a shit flat with Tunnidge in Leicester. Dubstep was new. We had 6 bits of vinyl. This was one of em.......
