  • A New small foot print prefab home that'll ship throughout North America is in the works. A market segment that I've noticed as to be very popular lately is ADU's that are modern and affordable and there is a new one coming soon. Minimalist has built out their first backyard structure and have are working on a larger livable unit. They've added this new offering after years in the tiny home on wheels industry where they've built and sold mobile and semi permanent homes. In this video I look at who they are, what they offer and how much they cost. Watch and learn more about Minimaliste, a prefab home company building for North America.

I always love hearing about a prefab company I had never heard of before. 😍
That cube is so cute. I would totally ditch the desk for a twin bed. A bathroom in a corner and a microwave and a folding table and voilà! If they think no one can live in a space that small they should visit NYC. 😁
Great video as always Kerry. Keep up the great work. 😎

why pay 47K when you can go to Home Depot and buy something similar for 10K... and im in the same province has that company but i WILL NOT encourage them for doing a glorified shed for almost 50K

I thought prefab houses were supposed to be less expensive than traditional construction by being more efficient etc. These small houses seem expensive.

    Definitely love what they're doing!
With 3 options, there's something for everyone, and the prices seem reasonable.
Personally, I could live in the last one (towable). Have been looking at travel trailers/prices. Why buy a travel trailer that's not going to wear well, when you can get what they're building for almost the same price.
Unfortunately, I live in AZ, so shipping would definitely be hard on the budget.
That said, they're towable would still be one I could go for.
    Thanks Kerry!
You hit it out of the ball park with this one... in my opinion.

A travel trailer has fresh, gray and waste tanks. a towable with a house built on top of it is designed to connect to a septic system and water supply (typical RV park or resort). Didn't see any signs of A/C or heating either, travel trailers have both. Edit: the towable should have standard home amenities as opposed to RV style. The towable sounds more expensive too.

@@ScubaSteveCanada I wasn't sure about the heating/air, but from the 3D walkthrough, I found that it has a mini split.
Yeah, I didn't think about the water/holding tanks. That's definitely something that they would have to have. But it looks like they do have an off-grid version, and that would definitely push the price up further.

Yeah! This is an awesome video, Kerry! I like the designs; but the prices…not so much. How about an update on Incredible Tiny Homes? They now have several of their model homes (including the Woody Line) on display at the factory location and their prices can’t be beat!

I like ITH and Randy but i feel they're going in circles, they just announce a month ago that they're newly affiliated with LOWS, so i commented about 10 times on their channel they should do a "plug and play" / "turn key" incedibox model cause thats what 70% of ppl want... but i dont think he really cares about that!?

@@mathieuduval7544 I've given up getting any answers even thru email - If you aren't buying it as is then they don't seem to listen, I still like the Incred-i-box tho! I still watch on occasion.

    • @celiafrederick1471
      @celiafrederick1471 Рік тому

@@mathieuduval7544 How often do you view ITH’s videos? The Amish build the model homes, while Incred-I-Boxes are produced on an assembly-line at the factory. Incred-I-Boxes are the main-stay. So just because Lowes will feature the build does not represent going in circles; it’s called diversification of marketing strategy. Incred-I-Cottage, Add-I-Box, etc are still the main focus at ITH.

My guess for the 160 sq ft model would be about $65,000 based on the cost per sq ft of the 96 sq ft model. It’ll probably be twice that much but it’s a guess.

these guys are actually pretty close to where i live and i wrote to them about 6 months ago asking them when are they gonna do an affordable design like Boxabl or incredibox?... so i guess they're gonna do the design but wont be affordable, like i said these guys are close to me but it would be more affordable for me to buy an incredibox which is 2000 miles from where i live.... gas and/ or delivery, USD to CND, import charges, taxes, finishing the incredibox!!!!.... we suck in Canada but its even worse in Québec, shame on that company!!!

Again, too expensive. 8 by 10 ft. Is a shed. Converting a shed that originally cost less than $5k would be cheaper and customized. The last time I went to a tiny house convention most of them were custom except one that was priced at $100k and that was admired but not really taken seriously.
