I love that you have a "real", normal craft room without thousands of dollars of fancy shelving and storage. Most of us can't afford that. Thank you for showing practical storage solutions.
I love that you used LARGE printed labels, not little labels. I just realized watching this that one of the things that has slowed down my crafting is having to pick up each and every container and hold it right up to my face just to see what the (really cute but) small label says. Large labels like you used are a fantastic idea -- not only will I no longer have to bend clear over to see what's on the bottom shelf, I'll be able to easily spot the container I want from a distance and not waste time looking on each and every shelf for (for example) pipe cleaners. Thanks for sharing!
Of all the craft tours I've watched this is one of my favorites because it is pleasing to the eye but yet you have all your stuff you need and it's neat and orderly!!!
Some nice ideas here. Dollar Store has so many great things for organizing. I spotted a few of my favorites in your video. Just a quick note about your sound track that you may want to look into. I noticed that when you begin a sentence I can barely hear your voice, but by the time you end that phrase or sentence, you come across loud and clear. This happened throughout the entire video. I listen to lots of video and I've never heard that happen. I know nothing about sound equipment, so I can't even guess as to the cause. Thanks for putting this together. Hope you enjoy your new space.
These are some wonderful idea and tips. I love that you mentioned that it is OK to let go of the bits and pieces. Creating is my happy place and I see possibilities in every scrap, but that adds up to clutter. You've given us some great solutions. Thank you for doing this.
Girl I cannot tell you how many videos I have watched to try and figure out how to organize all of my craft items. Finally I watched your and wow the ideas are finally flowing. If I knew how to post a UA-cam video I would share my organization project with you, however I do not know how so I will just tell you thank you for sharing this. I NEEDED IT!!!!
Such great organizational ideas, especially for somebody who gets overwhelmed When starting with a lot of clutter...like me! And thank you so much for your inspirational message...it's starting my day off on a positive and productive note!
Three of us are in a 2BR condo. My craft supplies are on one shelf in my closet or in a bin under my bed. My tools are in a tool box. I crochet, do papercrafts, do beading, and make centerpieces for parties. Tina, Al's wife
I am struggling to get my diy, crafts, etc organized I have a craft art nook my personal closet and finally granted a garage for big projects I can walk to. That being said the problem is deciding what can go to garage what needs to stay inside and be accessible, my mind gets scattered overwhelmed any advice is greatly appreciated. I love how you have labeled things organized your room. It looks amazing. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching Misti! It really helped me to eliminate all crafts but at a max of three. For example: scrapbooking, knitting, & sewing. Put others away for awhile and then rotate. Let me know how it goes!
Shannon, you are such an inspiration to me! Your craft room looks amazing & I have saved this video to refer to in the (near) future when I get to create an entire room dedicated to crafting for myself! Thank you for sharing and for your encouraging words as well, my sweet friend! ❤️
Great ideas. Here’s another one. My husband installed LED strips of lights from Lowes inside the front of closets around the doorway. They have a remote on/off and give great light.
TFS.. I must give sone important advice that I learned from our builder.. we recently moved in to our new home. During the design process, I inquired as to why I was not given the option to add lights in any closets besides the master? I was told that it’s because areas that are small (most secondary bedroom closets, small laundry closets, linen closets etc) are not coded for lighting because of fires hazards. I asked about battery operated to be added after the build.. and was given the sane answer. Of course nobody is picking my after build decor.. but I was advised that our home owners insurance would not cover any damage to the home or contents. If I were to implement any lighting on my own. I wanted to share this info because I know as crafters, we are inventive and problem solvers.. I had no idea that there were regulations to dictated about closet lighting.. but seeing your video reminded me to share.. Thanks again for your organizing shares.. God Bless
I am slowly getting my sewing room back in shape. I don't know why we feel it is ok to put homeless items in our special space. I am inspired to get to work on my sewing space. TFS!
My craft area is in one corner of my bedroom.... But within next 6 months( if everything works out) we are planning on buying a home and I am going to turn one room into my craft room/office. I can't wait
My craft room is in my living room. I live in a small apartment so I'm trying to find ways to store things with only one small closet. Thank you for the suggestions.
thank you for your video and sharing your space, i have to share my room as my home office, work office, crafty space and bedroom and it is a small-medium size room so its quite difficult for me to optimise space, i also have way too much in craft supplies, little storage and a hyperactive 3 yr old to contend with, waking up to find he has been playing with my distress oxides while hubby and i were asleep and seeing my light grey carpet now a rainbow told me i have to fix my room somehow lol
I have a very small space, like ten feet by ten feet, our home office is in three as well. So paying bill and crafting in the same small space. I love how you used the drawers system to organize, I am in the process of redoing, but of my, the more organized I try to get the more disorganized I become. Thanks for the inspiration and useful ideas.
I loved how you simplified your space, yet made the organization still very visually easy to use!!! We downsized & that means my closet/clothing storage & craft space has been consolidated into 1 room with 2 closets 😮 so I’m very grateful for the inspiration!!! Aim curious about the world clock system that you made for your husband~~~do you have a video of how you did that???
I will definitely be using your tip of furniture gliders under my table that holds my computer, printer, and Cricut machine. I have the gliders that I ordered three years ago, and I have only used them once. This is a good use for them. My regular crafting table does have wheel. Like your craft room, mine is also my home office. I’m going to set up a studio eventually, after I get the rest organized. You had many great ideas here. Thank you for sharing.
I use those bins too, to organize! Great hacks, tricks & organizational ideas! I use pool noodles in the back so the bins don't move around! Oh my goodness...u got rid of that beautiful shelf? So nice! Is there any way that you could have put it on one of your walls? My craft room definitely needs to be organized! I have so much stuff & not enough space! I am definitely using every square in that I can!!! My craft room just functions as my craft room! I am so grateful to have!❤️ Thank you so much for sharing your organizational ideas w/ us!😊❤️
Yes! I have a box that I can wrap & put my wreath frames in; instead of leaving on the floor. Thank you. I just rearranged my room and purged. I need to craft my stash & not shop. Thanks.
Really nice, shannon! My craft room is also our laundry room, hubby’s computer room an our office, but it works, so I am very grateful for it! Little Editing Tip: maybe try to not ‘fade in’ all the new sentences you say (soundwise), it is hard to hear the beginning of the sentences you say without having headphones on. Thanks a lot for this beautiful video, it inspires me!
I would put a thin tray across the front of the drawers instead of just place keeping with the small hors d'oeuvre trays at the back. One extra space for storage instead of dead space. Or just use those hors d'oeuvre trays in the front for small things.
Great content and beautiful room! Just a heads up tho, the volume is all over the place in the video. 😅 I think i may have awakened the entire house while i enjoyed it! 🤣
