lyrics:
"To all my friends, present past and beyond
tho you weren't with us too long
Life is the most precious thing you can lose
While you were here the fun was never ending
Laugh a minute was only beginning
Jason Mathew Thirsk this one's for you, this one's for you
Ever get the feeling you can't go on
Just remember whose side it is that you're on
You've got friends with you till the end
If you're ever in a tough situation
We'll be there with no hesitation
Brotherhood's our rule we cannot bend
When you're feeling too close to the bottom
You know who it is you can count on
Someone will pick you up again
We can conquer anything together
All of us are bonded forever
If you die i die that's the way it is
To all my friends, present past and beyond
To all those who weren't with us too long
Life is the most precious thing you can lose
While you were here the fun was never ending
Laugh a minute was only the beginning
Jason, my brother, this one's for you!"
Whose still rocking to this in 2024! Woooooooo wooohowooo
Yup
I am at 58
I am at 22
Yes
I still LOVE this song / tribute & it still gives me chills everytime i hear it - in a positive & motivating way. I believe this song highlights our ability as humans to understand / acknowledge tragedy & find a positive within to assist with avoiding an increasing worldwide issue. Thank You Pennywise for providing this enlightenment & perspective & last but in no way least .... RESPECT to you Jason Mathew Thirsk RIP ... Brooooooooooooo
Never let this song disappear. Share it with your kids.
Show the youth.
But never let it die.
i play this and haymaker version all the time ive lost my brothers and i miss them boys my kids know be safe broham!
VFB Stuttgart heard you
I'm an old school NYHC guy who now plays bass in a thrash band with Steve Gallo ex Agnostic Front and we play this during sound check and if we don't get a sound check then when the sound guy is doing our levels individually I play the bass line. This song will never die!
I only play the live version, and I play it for my 12 y/o little leaguers before the start of games when they are warming up on the field.
Who's here listening in 2025?
Me
Here...and it's getting worse
I will be.
Bro iam here in 2040!!!!
Making America Great Again
When the crowd starts chanting your music before the band starts, you know you're on to a winner
True haha. Check out the cover that I made all by myself! Would love feedback

Or maybe you wrote a pop song...
Das waren die Band meiner Jugend haben sie öfter mal Live gesehen. Und viele andere wie NOFX BAD RELIGION EXPLOITED SICK OF IT ALL.
Adam Lavine yelling at the audience and leaving.. what a fucking douche
@@lapomitalappen4794 😜😂
I saw them live in london in 2003. This was the last song and after it finished the crowd kept singing this chant for 20 minutes plus till the lights came on and we were all funneling out still chanting, 100s of us walking down the streets of Brixton chanting bro hymn on the way to the tube. The most surreal experience I'll never forget
This is one of the most powerful punk rock anthems ever. I can't really remember, but I think I was 16 when it got stuck into my brain. Twenty years have gone by, and I keep remembering... woooooooooo, wooooohohooooooooooooo... Don't let it die, you new generations.
Landolinify1 I won't I'm 12 and have been listening to this band and this song since the first time I heard it like 3 years ago
mibe igbut I'm 7 months old and have been listening to this song since the mid 90s

I was here 2023!
#classic. #punk is/was/ain't... Never DEAD💕💕🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸✨✨🥁🥁🎸🎸🛹🛹🐍🦕🐍🐢🐢
The 90’s were killer for the scene. Now, we are just old lol. But great to see the younger generation keeping it alive!
Chris Goebbert b
I’m trying to, but others just don’t like this amazing music
I agree. I haven't moshed in over a decade, but you bet your ass I will mosh a few more times before I die!
Not really the younger generation, the majority of people I meet on metal and punk festivals on front rows and mosh pits are still 40+. I'm 43 myself.
@@lucacapezio I'm 2 years older than you and though I'm in good shape, I'm afraid I'll break easily these days lol. Not quite as nimble as I was 20+ years ago.
Old Punk never die.... we just stand at the back. Always rock out to this classic
Lol, this isn’t old punk. This is 2nd Gen Punk.
I'm 43 and still get in the pit dude.
@@richardswheatley4330 Okay gatekeeper 🙄🙄🙄
@@mikecynic5167 thanks!
@@richardswheatley4330 That's not a good thing.
Imagine the feeling on the stage when the crowd chants. Goosebumps.
Missed those days where instead of raising phones, the crowd was raising horns, fists, middle fingers, whatever.
+ShaneDaHorze raising zippo lighters..flame on
+roastbeefdinner agreed
truth
metal bands still do that
I've seen people holding up iPads at concerts.
Still one of the best and totally underrated bands of all time!
TODD FINK fucking oath mate 👍🏻🤙🏼👍🏻
Underrated? They've been considered Punk Royalty for over 25 years now.
@@Dan-cj9yg yeh, by punks, but not the general public… I try turning my teenaged daughter on to my 80s & 90s punk bands… she likes some, but not enough 😅
Who cares ? They got of to live well out of their music, have a loyal fanbase and is on the books
I grew up in Hermosa Beach, I saw these guys all the time they were always down to earth. They would also put on free shows just to help the community
With every voice that sings in this song his death is honored that's why this song is beautiful and probably one of the most punk things ever lol
Dalton Anderson back when Punk meant something....
mouse rumour that is were it all was about ? ahhh you just made it even better, because it is not. thankx
@@thisonecomedian278 There isn't anything wrong with rap
Bruh Moment lol my bad I was high asf watching UA-cam
@@thisonecomedian278 Jesus, that was quick for me commenting on a year old comment
I saw them in 2017 at the Showbox Theater in Seattle. Just after my 50th birthday. They were so damn good, I couldn't stay out of the mosh pit! The next day, it felt like my body had been ran through a meat grinder! They fricken rock!
Hands down the best live song ever.
Jusqx no question
Tossis io
relax
You've never hear OverKill playing Fuck You live then.
Hands down the dumbest comment ever
I've seen Pennywise more times than I can count. They usually end with this and then encore with it because the audience doesn't want it to end. When I'm singing along to this live at a show I AM A BRO! lol
I was blessed to see pennywise in like 99 and they left the stage and no one moved. They came back for 30 mins and played perfect people... peaceful day. every single day..then bro hymn..they will play this song at every single show they do and it is timeless
my dad wants to go see them. do they still play live shows often?
@@izzyphiillips Yes. They play festivals and their own live shows all of the time. They are touring this year. Follow them here: pennywisdom.com/tour
2021 Still rocking this classic out! If you are here then u have great taste for music!! Let's keep these classic groups alive

Lp
Love the extra bass riffing in this version
When they play this at my funeral, and I don't get up, it's because I'm really gone.
My teacher played this song in class. We were learning about the affects of alcohol and she told us stories of friends, family, and past students who were killed while driving under the influence. Now i think about that every time i hear this song
To this day this song still can bring me to tears.
This song brings tears to my eyes for the fact that I'm still alive. God Bless all you punks
OMG!!! I'm 66 and I love this!
Happy to see no one holding their cell phones up to record it. #2006
What's wrong with recording
+troll king youre there to see an amazing band. not hold up a phone to record it lol
drumkid330 well you can watch and record it so u can remember the moment that's kinda what phones are 4 lol
i guess
+NOTTa YouNoob I never record concerts. I just watch and enjoy the moment.
There is no better feeling than being in the crowd during this song. EVERYONE sings along. So much great energy!
Man I miss the 90s skating and listening to PW. Time flies.
Goose bumps. Been listening to Pennywise after watching FLF's snowboard movie "Project 6" 29 ago and seen them live back in 1999 first time. This song is still one of my favorites beside "
Unknon Road".
Just fund that i lost my bro for covid19 to him i dedicated hymn artur u will all stay with us.
Punkrock forever
A Good SOLID BASS noise!!! ALL you ll ever need...
This song takes me when I was 14 years old, remember listening everyday at least 2 or 3 times a day lol good times 😢
Man I loved pre cell phone shows!
Every once in a great while there is a song that comes together and the energy, meaning, lyrics all come together to become an anthem of sorts. I get goosebumps every time I hear this song thinking about friends that have passed. Thank you for this beautiful song Pennywise. F*cking sickass song!
Just saw them last night for the first time 10+ years at a small festival. They STILL go this hard and then some
Nothing like hearing and seeing and singing it live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
saw them just before bad religion - when bad religion were doing their encore everyone just started doing the 'whoaaaaaaaaaaa whoaaa ooooo oooooooooooo! was kinda funny, but great feeling :)
I've seen them 3 times and they're unbelievable. Easily one of the best bands ever!
instantly, I got shivers down my spine...this song is for the ages
I just lost one of my closest friends. This evening I'll pick up my bass and play this one more time for him.
Man, I sold out and wear a corporate noose every day for work. However, every year i bust out the skateboard and do a kick flip just to prove that it’s still somewhere in me…. I blast this song to pump myself up
makes me cry this song
me too
Steven Mcmullen it’s pretty awesome that they made a remake for Jason dying. They’re probably the coolest people ever.
Every single time, right?
Never was a big fan of pennywise but the crowd was insane they were singing before the band started, and they managed to be heard even with all the music, amazing
4:00 what an amazing location for a festival!
Blasting this on a cassette tape way back in the day when it first dropped. Driving or skating from spot to spot. To think that this is 30 years young blows my mind , but just shows what a great song it is. Hope you are all doing well and thanks for that reminder that we need others.
Thanks to this band and John from Rhcp, and lots of prayers Im proud to say that my heroin addiction is now something in the past. Rip to all that we lost and To everyone struggling with addiction or mental illness you are not alone you are loved and you are m fucking worth it don't give up!
Este tema cerró el primer concierto de la banda en Madrid en 1992, los 200 que estábamos en la sala subimos al escenario a cantar con la banda. Nunca lo olvidaré.
Seen these gent's play twice, Heavy MTL 2014, and this summer ( 2017) at Montebello Rockfest, and when they played this song this past summer, they had so many people on stage, crowding the mics', signing along, that I thought the stage would collapse. it was a beautiful moment in my personal music history.
Level 1000 anthem. Remember in the 2000s. Putting this song on to Amp up and go out skateboarding with the squad. Seize the time. Rip to the fallen.
Gen X had the most and lived in the moment.

What a moment in live music, crowd was vibing big time.

This song gives me goosebumps live. Easily top 10 punk rock songs of the 90s.
The Ducks always play it when they score a goal, and I’ve heard a few other teams play it, too.

The bass on this song is incredible.
I’m a drummer, but the bass is awesome in this version. Pretty much base my favorite songs on the drums, bass and rhythm guitar parts. One reason I also love Iron Maiden.
Saw these guys do this live in Hermosa Beach. Back in ancient times, ya know!
Nagyon sokszor làttam ezt a koncertet, de nem az, hogy 2023 van, a hideg ràz, ha màr 1000-szer hallgattam meg, zseniàlis pennywise!!!!😮😊❤❤❤

Westside boot boys from Michigan you guys rock
What a great crowd
from 3:55 and on gave me chills...Every band should work to have moments like that
Less than Jake gets their crowds all hyped too, have them all running in circles around the sound booth. Classic punk n ska!
Bass line is so simple yet so amazing!
For all we Lost and Miss!
Thx Pennywise you gave them all a Hym
This is the strongest pre-workout you can get 💪🏻
My best friend and I use to talk about how we wanted this song played at our funeral. He got his wish.
I guess he died pretty young.
My condolences, man.
@@martijntalma Thanks man. He was 38 years old. He passed away jan 2nd last year. I'm living in another state and usually call to say happy new year. I didnt that year and have to live with it.
We grew up listening to 90s punk and ska and pennywise was one of our all time favorites
@@cbthomas909 it must have felt weird not calling this year.
Fucking sucks for you, man.
Please do not allow it to drag you down too much.
You owe it to your friend to hold on and stay strong and live the fucking shit out of life.

Focus on positivity and love and that is what you get in return for it.
Pma, dude, pma.

There's no way their friend isn't hearing this on the other side!

this song never gets old! I wish we had these types of festivals here in texas
That riff! It's a call out to all humanity and I've never met anyone, regardless of musical taste, who cannot relate in some way to this great song.
If this song doesn't make you feel energetic then nothing else will.

even i watch this from my room, my inner voice wanted to scream *OOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOO* feel the spirit!
Sorry for all who have passed
There's been way too many brother
I grew up in the bronx, always in trouble hip hop head..wasnt till 14 yrs old when Sugar we goin down dropped i was exposed to a song not rap related i actually liked, stood up till 6am waiting on an MTV countdown to play it at its #1 spot.
Then i found I Miss You, Make Damn Sure, Helena, The Quiet Things That Noone Ever Knows....wasnt till i was almost 30 a woman from long island pointed out dude ur totally an Emo heart with a hip hop image😂(till my 30s i never once shared my "rock" music with a single soul so nobody could teach me what was wat)
I didnt rly no wat to make of that but when i started to look at the genre 99% of my guitar n drum based music was, it was emo.
I loove the bittersweet sad, dark yet warm, confessional, bring alll the memories back songs..with rap i only liked the sad songs..We'll Always Love Big Poppa biggie tribute bein my top dog.
Just saw them at punk in drublic in ventura this weekend. They rock even harder now that they are all about 20lbs heavier and 20yrs older- just like most of us! Fuckin awesome!
