It's been nice having some time to catch up on the show. I had missed several of these pictures but am glad I had an opportunity to watch them when time permitted. What I liked about this picture is how the actual robbery takes place early on in the movie and isn't built up so much as it is, for instance, in The Killing. I love The Killing, and its pacing is fine, but when I sat down to this film, I was glad that the heist takes place early on and takes up just a few minutes or less. That left a lot of time for the interesting tale of the fallout of the robbery after the fact. It also allowed for some great character development. Charles McGraw was great in this movie. It's funny seeing him as a cop here when I had just watched His Kind of Woman, where he plays a bad guy. I know he played a cop in The Narrow Margin, too, but I just thought it was interesting to have seen him very recently in His Kind of Woman and play an antagonist just as well as he plays a protagonist, as he did in this movie and in Narrow Margin. Have you seen His Kind of Woman by chance? It's a really good and subversive Noir picture starring Robert Mitchum, Vincent Price, and Jane Russell. I find it to be a really laid back and relaxing picture, as most of the time Robert Mitchum is just walking around a resort asking questions and getting people out of jams. It's a Howard Hughes-produced masterpiece with some hard core noir elements mixed with light comedy.

This Wrigley Field was used for the old TV show Home Run Derby. I used to wonder how many times that house down the left field line got hit by baseballs.

The Angels used the Wrigley Field in this movie as their home for their first season in 1961.
