One of our newest additions to the Lawman Guitars BiLT line of fine guitars.
A Brand New 2018 BiLT Hand Carved Top and Back Reclaimed Cedar Volare Guitar with original Hardshell Case. This is a new model for the BiLT Brand and its really really cool…Its one of two that will be be built from this reclaimed Cedar…Yes, I’m trying to buy the other one..LOL… All the other Volares will not have this reclaimed Cedar and the tops will not be carved. A special, special guitar from these awesome guitar builders!
This cool guitar was invisioned by the talented BiLT Guitar Guys, Tim and Bill and it all started with a Cedar Plank that Tim Thelen had salvaged…This board came from a Watertower in Kirkwood MO that served a Brown Shoe Company Factory. It looks amazing in a guitar now and I’m really proud to have this guitar and its Shoe Factory Legacy for my customers.
This is one of two that the guys have hand carved. Yes, they use a machine to initially create the lines but hard labor follows with hand tools to give this guitar a hand built carved top and back. The top is a a strong ¼ inch and just tapping the top gives a glimpse of the musical tone of this old growth wood. The core is Mahogany and the neck, also hand carved, is a ROASTED Highly figured maple. They have created their own seasoning of the wood they call roasting to give the wood a much older appearance and much more stability than using traditional drying methods. It also smells really good before finishing…LOL..
It comes in the incredible natural finish which is quite dark. The fretboard has large black fret positions which really reminded me of a Geddy Lee Bass…very cool on a guitar. Black Binding to set it off… They used Vintage Fender fretwire on the medium C shape neck with a 9.5" radius. It has a 25 ½ inch scale neck that feels like a Fender and the nut measures 1 ¾ inch… Also upgraded Blacked out Mastery Bridge and Tremelo Tailpiece. That’s a special order item from Mastery … What a guitar!!
Lets talk Pickups! It has the upgraded Lollar Imperial Humbucker in the Neck position and Lollars P94 Looks Single Coil in the Bridge… They sound huge! Combined with the warm body dymanics of this guitar, you can achieve every style of music from Rock and Blues to County and Jazz. I played them all on this guitar and it sounds incredible!
I played this awesome guitar in the BiLT Shop then proceeded to demo it in another shop and played it for about and hour. What a great guitar. Incredible action and the pickups make you feel like a ROCK STAR! They are so powerful…Cool cool guitar.

The concept of thermally treating, or toasting wood, was devoted in Finland.

Juha Ruokangas is an amazingly talented luthier in Finland, is relatively unknown outside of Europe. Ruokangas has many videos about guitar making, which are very interesting - if you are a tone freak (I know you). Using old reclaimed wood and/or thermally treating wood, are enabling luthiers to make the some of the finest instruments ever.
That is a beautiful guitar Mr. Mike, and I assume the price is so high that if we have to ask, we can't afford it - eh?
