Mr Beast was FOR SURE uncomfortable. But what people fail to realize is that there was a vertical 52" TV next to the main camera that only had the live chat on it in huge text. As you can imagine, the chat was brutal. So they're all trying to be happy while pretending they can't see that their friend is being slandered right in front of them over and over again.
Yeah it’s weird people think Mr Beast would be uncomfortable around Chris, this has apparently been a thing for a while, he’s surely known plenty of time before the rest of us knew. Also, who would be uncomfortable around their best friend just because they changed gender? If one of my bros came out as trans they’d still be my sis, if you’re that close to someone you’ll accept them

I think one of the most irritating things about the Sunny video is the editing. The ominous music and weird 'boom' effects make all his videos seem far more serious, and the topics a lot more malicious than they actually are. This is the same in all his videos, and is understandable in a video about an abuser, but pairing that music with the topic of 'person came out as trans and people are mad' kinda' subconsciously makes it seem like the video is painting Chris as a bad person. Basic editing psychology and all that.

I understand Pyro is approaching the video with a bit of a different lense on than most due to the amount of content he gets to make thanks to SunnyV2.
But the way the video is titled, formatted, and shown with the heavy bias expressing that Chris isn't thinking about how it will affect Jimmy and the channel all together like Chris is a character in a film and not a human-being is fucked.
The video could easily be portrayed on a neutral ground showing what's happened and the backlash but it's not framed in that light.
SunnyV2 is aware of the picture he is painting, picking the most braindead unhinged comments, 90% of which have hardly any likes, so why choose those to highlight I wonder.
Yeah I think that is the single most harmful thing about Sunny’s content (even for the videos where I don’t like the person of interest) he presents himself as taking an objective stance on the matter when he very much wants to push a certain message. And people are way more likely to listen to him because of that. Because “this isn’t his opinion, it’s just the facts”

I think the most damning thing about this is that they keep calling it "MrBeast drama" or "controversy" when there is literally no controversy with either of these two people. Honestly, thinking back on a lot of Sunny's other vids, his takes in this one are completely on point for him. Sunny has always, *always*, focused on the numbers and branding of the people he's made videos about in whatever drama happened. Prime example would be his Kwebblecop video, where he talks about "how ruined his channel is now" because of how much he's lost, despite still having a channel big enough to live very comfortably off of.
Yeah. People take offense of his video because of "transphobia", but the real issue with Sunny's content is not his opinions on Chris and his transition, but how often he pushes aside any kind of humanity and individuality for the sake of focusing on numbers and brand prestige. If there's a dip in terms of numbers and recognition, or if there's any kind of divide in the community, Sunny will always frame it in a bad light.

I think the problem with Sunny's video is that he treats the relationship between Jimmy and Chris like it's completely transactional and not, like, an actual friendship between two real human beings. Chris doesn't exist as part of MrBeast's channel, he's literally just a person who happens to be a regular on MrBeast. It felt like he wasn't actually treating like Chris as a individual person, which felt really weird even disregarding anything to do with Chris' gender. If a member of a YT group started taking ADHD medication and mellowed out because of it, it'd be seen as fucked to call them out for "changing" because they're doing it for their own mental wellbeing, not for a UA-cam audience

Thats pretty much the only issue with the video, the majority of it is really more of a recap of everything that happened up until Chris came out. I like how the internet blew this out of proportion it essentially became the next "Kardashians type of nonsensical drama" for them. Literally nobody gave a fk(or even knew, like me for example) about Chris's kid until this and now everyone acts like they know whats best for a child who literally knows and has nothing to do with all this, like(again) the Kardashians.

I've said it before and i'll say it again, concern trolls saying "what about dem kids" are just pretending to care for the kid when they actively want to display their transphobia. Not a single one of them has made the point that having a "father figure" literally doesn't make life better or worse. @@Revan058 I basically came out fine without my father in my life. Not that he left us or anything, he physically just couldn't be there for me. My schedule was 7am-8pm as a kid, he was working 6-10 then after changing jobs, 12-6am. So often times I would never see him or have any support from him.

As a mother, a daughter and wife I can definitely say that you can’t be a good parent or spouse when you have untreated mental illness, their marriage would have broken down regardless of Chris’ transition and it’s better to get divorced while your child is young.
It’s better to have a trans parent than one who suppresses their soul so deep that they’re emotionally unavailable.

Also, my main concern with the Chris situation was if the kid would still have a second parent in their life, because that's a very important part of a child's development. If Chris was divorcing because they felt unfit to be with their spouse, but was still willing to be a part of their child's life, then I have no qualms about it.

I'm going to try and construct this comment as I watch your video to try and articulate each point because I feel like it's worth going into this video with a bit of scrutiny. As a recently cracked transwoman, everything that is happening surrounding Chris right now is embarrassing. I can fully agree with the notion that SunnyV2 was simply trying to work in accordance with the algorithm, but such an approach is almost inherently flawed for getting out information in stories like this. In addition to mistakes being pushed through in favor of clicks, it does not allow Sunny any time to check any biases he or his sources may have, which could lead to him pushing transphobic ideas that he may not even be fully aware he has. I know I personally had to do a lot of work to break from what I learned growing up about gender identity and trans people, things that caused then and still cause now a host of issues that prevent me from finding comfort in my person on the day to day. If Sunny and as you mentioned other big UA-camrs are in the race of "get it out right now" there's no room for nuance on the subject, it allows preconceived notions to seep through in an attempt to grab the bag, and can push ideas that are genuinely harmful to plenty of trans people. Talking about those mistakes and deconstructing them like this is good, of course, but the first impression given by Sunny's video has already been made, at this point its too little too late. The narrative of Chris's marriage coming to an end over their transition feels pretty disingenuous, as it seems to put the umbrage on Chris for coming out and "ruining the relationship" yet says nothing of their wife who seems to be separating from Chris *because* of their transition. It feels pretty presumptuous to me to make the claim that this is Chris's fault when the story isn't known to the public, and while it doesn't seem like Sunny outright states that, the video seems to run with the notion and never challenges it, which is a huge red flag, basically conflating trans people with a collapse of the family unit and with debauchery, both of which are common anti-trans dogwhistles. You can see just how common these dogwhistles ate in your own comments. Members of your chat are spouting anti-trans filth, and while you call them out and fight that, and that is admirable it's a symptom of the saturation of trans hate into so much of modern internet discourse that Sunny's own video is involuntarily playing into. If the information about Chris talking to other trans creators was so prevalent, why did Sunny not mention? Why not refute the points made against Chris instead if letting them ride? He seems to counter the claims made that Chris is abandoning their child and tearing apart a family by showing Chris talking openly about supporting and being their for his child, but then goes right back into those same comments without any other argument, dragging the whole discussion back to a perceived wrongdoing. If this is a result of just chasing clicks, its actively disparaging a trans person by recycling poisonous rhetoric, and that should be addressed. This all builds up to what seems to be Sunny's thesis: Chris's transition is going to cause a problem for Mr. Beast's career, a statement that is not just incredibly insulting by brushing aside the struggles of a trans person to instead talk about how much their friend is being hurt, but one that also, again, frames Chris in the negative. The negativity is coming from the transphobes that are in Mr. Beast's community, THEY are the problem, not Chris, and posing this issue from this perspective implies that the issue is because of Chris and not the bigots attacking Chris for perceived wrongdoing. That's a huge issue. You refute the "Mr. Beast looks uncomfortable around Chris" cope very well, why them could Sunny not do that himself? If his aim was to discuss how Chris's transition was affecting Mr. Beast's channel, wouldn't that be a valid point to bring up? Sunny so consistently tries to reach for the conclusion that Mr. Beast is uncomfortable around Chris and Chris's jokes, seemingly unaware of this facet of e-celebrity, that being the contrast of person and persona, that has been understood for well over a decade, and it feels more like he's trying to find where his conclusion is than use the available information to make a good conclusion in the first place. It's not challenging his viewpoints it's just reaffirming them. You mention Sunny's take about Chris losing old or adopting new personality traits, and how bad that is, so I'll refrain from going too in depth on that, but I will say it does seem to me to reinforce the idea that Sunny has biases regarding this topic that he didn't check or was unable to given the time frame, neither of which are good things. Between that and the disregard for Chris as a person and not an asset, it feels like Sunny's motivation for making this video in general was to milk a trending topic for views instead of giving a person he's covering the proper due diligence in regards to their treatment. It feels like a cynical cash grab. Sunny effectively treats Chris as a character and less a person, and that's disgusting to me, even if he was unintentional. Chris is not a shallow Disney puppet for brownie points, they're a trans person going through a transition, there's a WORLD of difference between the two. Again, he keeps positing the "effect on Mr. Beast's career" as if the problem is Chris transitioning, when the problem is bigots being unable to accept the identity of trans people and burrowing into communities like tickets. Sunny's entire point is predicated an the trans person being the problem, not the ones lobbing the hate at them. I don't believe Sunny is transphobic at all, but I believe he has unconscious biases that were left unchecked when he made this video that err on the side of transphobia entirely without his own consideration. These things are incredibly common as a result of how vilified trans people are by society, and while Sunny may not believe any of that, some bit of deep social programming slips into almost everyone without intention. I think going forward he needs to consider how he frames his videos and arguments so as not to other people like Chris, because this shit sucks to watch as a fellow trans person.

Funny how you said someone can have a family and come out as gay when they're 40. That EXACT thing happened with my ex's dad. Had a wife and two daughters in their teens. Then one day my ex just says "so it turns out my dad is gay and my parents are getting a divorce...". She wasn't too upset by it but it definitely seems to blindside the family.

As someone who has wanted to transition for a long time, yeah, it just doesn't happen overnight. This is something that you deal with in your head for years and years, it's a constant thought, just looking in the mirror is a stark reminder.

Something that I've noticed is that Sunny will present his opinion indirectly by reading people's comments and tweets that all agree with a certain point. Whether intentional or not, it shows that Sunny is not as unbiased on topics as he presents himself.
Its like how Ricegum would release videos that basically said nothing, but pin comments that defended him. It allows people to imply something that would be a bad look to say directly.
He shows a common point being made, if there are 2 groups and one is purely positive, you really don't include the positive one in a video called "____ Drama"

The thing with Sunny's video is that the framing is extremely telling. Just think about it, the right can't outright say that being trans is "bad" because it doesn't resonate. For them it's best to paint Chris as a villain in this situation. Also notice how he paints this as a drama even though he exclusively talks about Chris and random comments. He cherry picks comments to make it seem like everyone is reacting negatively. The majority of comments don't even have any likes so it's obvious that he cherry picked them by purpose.
They have to convey their message through subtle framing like this, otherwise people would realize what they're doing. I know this might seem a little conspiratorial but this is legitimately how it works. They want people to think "huh maybe he's onto something" and then the UA-cam algorithm recommends more opinionated content.

Surely as the majority of people do, employees of bigcorp love and appreciate those close to them; but what is absolutely true is that it becomes much easier to lose sight of how decisions would affect people, when you don't see them. If they knew that choosing the cheaper chemical would make their kids sick, obviously they wouldn't; but when the motive is profit and the downside is "maybe this isn't as tolerable for people" it becomes more fuzzy, and there's even more factors, such as a publicly traded company being obliged to "act in the best interest of their shareholders" (and shareholders can take legal actions, but it's different from "legally obliged to maximize profits").
What is absolutely right however is that Sunny just didn't cover any other views in his video, making it callous and not offering any other interpretations..
