I thought it was a joke but they said that some MCNs do take a cut from memberships and I never believe it until now. No UA-camr should have to be in an MCN, agencies can do brand deals without handling all your UA-cam money it’s insane they’re still around
People like H3h3 hasn't grown out of the early 2010's youtube environment and keep MCNs alive. I can get if you're directly employed by the MCN that it'd make sense that they got multiple independent channels that were connected to one "hub" so to speak but otherwise if you got zero real business ties it's just idiocy.
depending on the mcn and the quality of the work they do its worth it to be a part of it, for a variety of reasons. Brand deals are a big one especially if they are a proactive company, but when you get to the level of fame and wealth as channels like h3h3 its universally better to just hire your own in house team of people to do those things for you.

So that is how he could get paid. - After coming back from Israel to America, he could not change that because you can not just change payment accounts like that. - He had hired an accountant to do the financial work for him but they did a shitty job and did not notice all the stolen money. - Since Ethan's video, many other UA-camrs have come up and said the same thinking happening to them, and they didn't notice it before. - Ethan has taken a mortgage on his office and has 12 full time working employees. - He has stopped the revenue on his channels because the money still goes to them instead of him. Which means not being paid for potentially, months. Thank you Pyro for covering this "huge" drama lol This time it really is huge. He didnt read the contract he signed. his contract explictly states the Kleins keep all of the revenue generated by their uploaded videos, and the MCN keeps 70% of other Google income. He should lose this. Doing good in the past doesnt mean you can weasel out of contracts.

The ambiguous writing of the clause would make it difficult to be ruled as acceptable in court. Perhaps, if it was accepted as per the stipulation of a "case by case" basis, however it sounds as if this was never something that was agreed upon by both parties. I also doubt it would be something that he would have read alone without consulting a lawyer before signing. No doubt Legal Eagle will make a video on this, and it will be interesting to see his take.
