I don't know why people thought Terra just breaking free was ridiculous. His armor animated itself based on pure hatred for Xehanort and fights ten times more fierce than Terra does.

Lingering Will is as strong as Terra in the end of BBS, since his level is not reseted when it transfered to the armor, not like Sora in the end of every game ...
Lingering Will and Terra have the same strength, but in terms of goals, all the LW cares about is taking down Xehanort; as for Terra, he just wants to be reunited with his friends and see the end of what's to come.

Sure for we can use Ultimate Cannon and Keyblade-Bike, also that prism-thingy that lock Sora's magic is the reference of what Terra use in Command Board game from BBS ... And the fact LW has a bunch of health bar because Terra's health bar was ridiculously high ... But still, LW has, arguably, more stat and skill set than Terra ...
@@ManusiaKagakRusuh Oh yeah, for sure. But if there's one thing Xehanort learned in THIS moment in particular, it's to not take him lightly. He literally took back his body by force.
I was surprised Terra was the heartless guardian. Makes me realise you weren't just fighting Ansem in Kingdom hearts 1 but Terra as well
In the words of Xemnas WRRONG what you where actual fighting is the heart of xehanort Aka xehanort reduced to just a heart as said a couple of times through out DDD and KINGDOM Hearts 3 Ansem is xehanort with foreshadowing property dispute that he spoke of in blank point and honest it really wasn’t that hard to see looking at Ansem and xehanort himself I kinda figured this since BBS

So yes the fact that apprentice xehanort summons xehanort keyblade shows xehanort was the one calling himself Ansem sod oh and let’s not forget the time travel back to his young self.
I know right? And that definitely adds in a heartbreaking aspect to the Ansem fights.
-The guardian is first used against Aqua in Radiant Garden, where despite her best efforts with the dual limit reaction command, she succeeds in getting Terra to stab Xehanort in the heart. Unfortunately, she sends his body up to the realm of light where Xehanort would then bring about the chaos for the next 10 years.
-Terra-Guardian is summoned again for the Ansem fight in KH 1, now seeing a young man with the keyblade that isn't the successor that he chose, forced into a situation much larger than him. While we don't know if he would've remembered the other boy on Destiny Islands, it likely fills him with sadness that he can't fight back, shackled to assist the SOD against his will, and is fused with him into the world of chaos, which inevitably blows up.
-Flash forward to DDD where it's used against Riku, the successor that he did choose and has to be knocked out by Donald and Goofy, perhaps on some level Terra felt relief knowing that his choice gained much strength over the years.
-Then KH 3, Terra is finally liberated from the ghastly form, and back into his old body. This is further solidified as when you fight Ansem, Young Xehanort and Xemnas, the former doesn't use the guardian, he CAN'T use Terra anymore.
I was actually the first person on the planet to call it. I always had a hunch. But the scene in DDD where Riku holds his keyblade up to the Guardian and then Guardian backs down sealed the deal for me.

After so many years, Terra finally breaks free and regains control again!!!!!! I was so shocked when I found out the guardian was Terra the entire time, and he just overpowers Terranort and reclaims his body again!!!!!

When Xehanort extracted Terra's heart then the guardian disintegrated. To me it hinted that terra's heart was imprisoned in the guardian heartless. ( that how i interpreted it.)

I waited 9 years for that moment, and seeing the Wayfinder trio together again.
It was one of the greatest moments in the entire series and Terra absolutely earned it.

So many theorists were probably squelling with enjoyment when watching this scene
Omg this music , I love when it repeats the key theme towards the end, it really lays out how much terra has been waiting for his chance to take his body back...he just needed his best friends there to light his way ...
You said it! He protected himself from Xehanort several times over, five times in fact.
1: Taking down Xehanort as the Lingering Will
2: Seperating himself from Xehanort into a seperate Guardian
3: Stopping Xehanort from knowing the location of where Ven was
4: Protecting the guardians of light from Xehanort
5: Having full control of the Guardian he seperated himself INTO from the start, saving his friends and taking his body back
If there's one thing Xehanort learned, it's to not take Terra lightly. It's just like Aqua said to Eraqus in BBS: he wasn't as weak as he thought.
Lots of people hate terra because he’s dumb apparently for trusting Xehanort. Xehanort was trusted by Eraques and is his best friend so of course his pupils will trust Xehanort. When Xehanort killed Eraques terra knew that Xehanort wasn’t who he thought he was and switched sides instantaneously. So he isn’t dumb. Also this cutscene shows how amazing terras character is.
He is not dumb. He saved his friends. He is the most powerful out of the trio in terms of damage. He was the first keyblade wielder to cast his mind to his armour which is known as the Lingering Will.

Considering I've seen players who didn't immediately connect Master Xehanort's name to the central antagonist of Sora's struggles when starting Birth By Sleep, and didn't catch on to the fact that he was a bad guy until they saw him open a corridor of darkness, I wonder what exactly these people expected of Terra. The fact is Xehanort spoke nothing but truths when he advised Terra on a balance of light and darkness. He was making himself out to be a possible mentor figure of far greater merit than Eraqus, who you have to admit Xehanort was not wrong about being blinded by his own light. Speaking of, I can't help but wonder how things might have turned out if Terra wasn't just a means to an end, if Xehanort actually mentored Terra, and followed through with his philosophy of balance.
I know he only really got genuinely duped by Hook, but he manages to use that to his advantage to trick the captain into letting him free Tinker Bell. So...he's actually more clever than he first appears.
@@devonm042690 As for this, Xehanort's talk about starting a purge to restart the universe got me thinking that he didn't see any other way to fix everything. So, everything in the universe - even Terra - was inconsequential compared to those ends.

Yoko nailed it when it came to overall feel of Terra finally overpowering the Xehanort inside of him to protect his friends!

I remember the moment this happened. My sister and I who have been with this series since the beginning just going mouth wide open in shock. The song starting and it hadn't fully clicked yet. I thought maybe Terra was using the guardian to fight back but the moment he broke the bandages on his mouth and spoke we screamed. All this time... he was right there... if we had just known sooner we could've saved him sooner but man oh man... he got the moment he deserved!

IMO, Terra's theme always felt incomplete until this version came out. And it's a damn shame this theme wasn't on the official soundtrack.

I counter with my trap card “fulfilled promise” , negating your dark ties of friendship, it also allows me to take control of one of your monsters , I choose your guardian and force it to attack you directly

I saw the Guardian betray Terranort and I just had a huge smile on my face.
Terra: "One day...i will set....this right. One day I will....set this right. I will return to this land, AND PROTECT MY FRIENDS!!! (Terra gets ready to expel Xehanort from his body, and Sora gets his Keyblade.) Sora: "TERRA, NOW!!! (Terra's heart shoots out of the Dark Future's body and enters Terra-Xehanort's body as Sora shoots a beam of light at Terra-Xehanort.

Seeing the Guardian save Aqua and Ven, and hearing the first few notes of this theme made me so happy. Yes, Terra’s incompetence had a hand is the misfortune of the Wayfinder trio. But Goddamnit My Boy Is Back!!!!!!
I was immediately scream his name ... TEERRRRAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAA ...
I saw this and I was so happy. This was my reaction.
"Hold up. No, you're kidding. Since when did the Guardian get a mind of its own?! No, wait. That HAS to be Terra, right? PLEASE tell me that's him!"
He wasn't incompetent. His biggest flaw aside from his temper was that he was too trusting, and I'm not talking about Xehanort. Terra had no reason to distrust Xehanort, who Eraqus called his friend. When I think of him being too trusting, my thoughts go to his visit to Neverland. Even then, he's earnest and quick to correct himself when he realizes he's made the wrong decision.
Got you xehanort.

There were literally five times where Xehanort underestimated Terra's sheer force of strength in his mind and heart. First when he took over Terra's body and reformed as the Lingering Will, the second overpowering Xehanort's control and releasing his heart, Terra showing up to stop Terra-Xehanort from getting answers from Aqua, Lingering Will AGAIN saving the guardians from Terra-Xehanort and the last having full control of Terra-Xehanort's Guardian and saving his friends PLUS reclaiming his body. Boy, oh boy, should Xehanort NOT take Terra lightly!

Can we count that when Master Xehanort finally defeated by Sora in the end of KH3, and MX think he still has a chance ... Than from within Terra, Eraqus comes out and stop MX from trying, as 6th time Terra screwing MX ? ... Or should not ? ...

I think i may have a theory that sounds doable?
We see Lingering Will fight off against Terranort. Yet here we are, fighting Terranort. So i think that perhaps the Lingering Will lost, and his Will, went inside the guardian since it is most likely possible that Terranort used the guardian against LW. with defeating Lingering Will, As i said, Terra's will went into the guardian who Xehanort tried to keep subdued. which is why the guardian attacks us, and as Ven said he kept his promise, that might've shook off Xehanort's control of the guardian which caused the guardian to save Ven, Aqua and Sora and the guardian then turned against Xehanort, showing that Terra's heart is in the process of winning it's battle against Xehanort and has control of the guardian.
that and instead of sora have riku there... they really need a decent reunion since bbs

Yes, I so agree with this ... The only reason Terra, as Guardian, obey his master obediently because his strongest will was somewhere else ... So when LW got destroyed, that will return to Terra's heart within the Guardian, and now Terra's heart finally has the will that strong enough to fight back ...
But kinda disappointed of how the LW got destroyed just like that ...

LW literally didn't even know who Sora was, hence why he didn't do anything until Terranort nearly blasted Sora straight to the face. He really didn't even know Sora was trying to help him until he saw that they are both on the same side. Just comes to show even with that undying will to reclaim and rid of the evil in his body, he gave up his will to rid the xehanort of terra to protect Sora.

The biggest sin in this game to me was how we weren’t able to play as the LW or Terra for some revenge… but this will forever be one of the greatest moments in the series.
I get what you're saying, but a far bigger sin is that with so much plot to wrap up it was all saved for the final few hours. I think it would have served the game's story better to at least have an initial climax at the midpoint like 2 did
@@devonm042690Oh absolutely. KH3 felt disrespectful as a whole. It felt like Nomura was bored of the most interesting and long awaited payoff to one of the most anticipated finales in gaming so he just thought “Let’s rush it all in about 3 hours!”

I wish I liked this more. I was just left super unsatisfied with the Terra-nort and vanitas confrontation but at least the soundtracks are still to die for

I wonder if Ansem ever had problems caused by the Guardian trying to rebel off. Like trying to beat him because he was Xehanort's Heartless and Terra had a great hateed towards Xehanort.

Honestly, I thought this demise of Xehanort was the most well done and satisfying out all all his incarnations, including Master Xehanort himself (though the death blow in the final showdown was pretty amazing).
For me, this was the Xehanort I remember the most; the one Ansem and Xemnas both spawn from, the one to betray Ansem the Wise, steal his name and research, and destroy his kingdom and world, deceive the other apprentices, abduct children and others to perform experiments on and mass produce the heartless and nobodies to begin destroying the other worlds, all the while confining the previous host of his stolen body to a tortured existence as his slave chained to darkness.
Yes, this was simply Master Xehanort in Terra's body, but there was something so downright evil about him, devoid of the justifications in his other forms. Even in this game alone, how he intended to just kill everyone and rip their hearts from their body (and actually succeeding before the time loop), using the image of a former friend and comrade to lure them in, was so messed up. This incarnation to me was just the pure, raw evil and hatred of Xehanort.
Terra's anger activating just as Xehanort began to say "darkness," the callback to Terra's final words in BBS and the scene in "A Fragmentary Passage" and Xehanort's struggle and disbelief before being completely destroyed was just perfect.
In a way, I hope we get to relive some part of this again in the DLC, so that the final image I have of Xehanort is this demise because it was perfect. He went out struggling and without surrendering; no parting words, surges of emotion, or ambiguous warnings, just his destruction. That's the demise I always wanted from Xehanort.
I understand Nomura wanted to add some complexity to his character, and I don't mind that, but having this as Xehanort's last demise to be shown in the DLC, in some way, would be a nice way to close off the character. We know his motivations and the good in him, but still get that satisfying villain death absent from the final boss.

It still shocking that someone early on, I believe after BBS released crafted a theory, that the Guardian, Terra-Xehanort uses was Terra and that turned out to be true. Whoever that person is definitely has a massive IQ.

(The guardian grabs hold of Black Lady, preventing her from speaking any further, rips off the bandages around it's mouth, coughs once, then takes a deep breath, and speaks with Chibiusa's voice)
Chibiusa: One day... I... will... set... this... right.
(She holds Black Lady towards Sora)
Chibiusa: One day... I will set... this right... I will return to this land. And protect... my family!
(Sora readies his Keyblade)
Sora: Chibiusa! NOW!
(Sora fires a beam of light at Black Lady, and the hole in the shape of a heart glows bright gold, which signifies Chibiusa's heart returning to it's rightful home, as well as purging the real Chibiusa's body of Wiseman's darkness forever. The future daughter of Usagi and Mamoru has at last returned, back to the same little girl she used to be.)
