Good stuff 🤜.. Wanted to add some tips to this video. .. Its more important to play the RIGHT songs, than to play songs in key back to back. At the end if the day, few listeners will appreciate mixing in key but darm near all listeners will quickly "Switch off" if you didn't play a song they liked. So in my opinion, organize your playlist with the crowd in mind first, then if you can nudge a song up or down your list to be "In key" thats cool, but don't focus the playlist mainly by key. This has been my secret to 3 million views a month here on youtube.
Yooo, much respect Naydee 🙏🏾 I couldn’t agree more! I spent many years not even caring about mixing in key at all, and songs still blended extremely well. And like you said, song selection is far more important than anything honestly. I would even say people don’t even care how great you mix or scratch if the song selection isn’t on point. Appreciate the comment!
@@DJLiftOFF so true regarding bad blends but if the songs are hot people will still love it. One of my mixes that's doing the best is a mix I feel I botched most of the blends but my playlist was killer and people are going coocoo over it lol
@@djnaydee Exactly what you just said proves the point. I’m sure your blends weren’t as botched as you think but it’s still playlist over everything lol
One useful trick for power block mixing is to make a folder of smartcrates for each key going 1-12. I’ll set the filters for smartcrate 1 to contain all tracks in keys 1A or 1B, smartcrate 2 only has 2A and 2B and so on. It makes it easy to find compatible tracks for open format mixing.
me just now: "oh, so THAAAAAT'S what the keylock button is for!" 🤣 Makes sense now, thank you! My buddy gave me his ol' Numark Mixtrack Pro and I've been playing around with it and learning a bunch. Keylock will definitely fix some awkward transitions I've been trying to get better at when there are vocals involved and I'm trying to bring the tempo up. Very cool. Thanks again! 🙏
Wut up bro? I have a content I idea for beginner DJ's possibly. We see you scratch with the faders (left & right). We also see you blend with the faders up & down. Why do you DJ that way? What is your fader cut knob position? There's more methods to why you and other DJ's do it this way that can help DJ's like myself. Thanks
I got one last week, much better layout than the SB3, and I really like that device. For an entry level controller it’s pretty awesome. Build quality is obvious it’s inexpensive (pads are clicky, but responsive). Love the added fx paddles. Great for home studio use or a solid backup unit for sure.
Love the Rev 1 so far man! I agree with Mike that the pads are little inexpensive built but the jog wheels are pretty dope. I love the battle style layout too.
Are there other ways to mix Future Bass other than drop mixing or just fading out? Songs from Illenium, Nurko, Far Out, Martin Garrix etc., aren't as consistent with the bpm and phrases as House or Bigroom.
I don’t mix future bass at all but I bet there’s various way to mix for sure! When you say aren’t as consistent with bpm, as in it can change mid song?
@@DJLiftOFF no, I mean most songs can't be grouped with similar bpms. It's almost like a random generator between 70-150, and you get odd numbers with wide gaps like 78 or 105 instead of the usual 128. And phrasing is another problem in itself since there aren't many extended mixes of future bass music as well.

Ahaha yessir!! You’re more than welcome.
Love what you do brother.
GOD bless.💪😊🕊❤🛐✌
Appreciate you!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾💯
Gotta love the REV1
Most definitely. Way better than I anticipated!
Class is in session📝.. Great breakdown. I always thought you could go 1A,2A,3A with 1B,2B,3B.(the keys next to it and behind it)
.
Yessir, you’re completely right on the keys and how you can mix them.

Yo bro. Great video suggestion. Will definitely touch on this and make a vid!! 💯
