Would love to see a video on the HWMC. I just purchased while on sale, and wanted it since it came out, but haven't actually tried it yet, not sure my 2010 cheesegrater can handle it. But I know I will want to use it in future.
Something else I've enjoyed is Newfangled Audio Elevate. Really unique control of transients, eq, clipping and limiting. I have had great and powerful results using this single plugin in the past than using multiple plugins I knew better at the time.

NOt to burst your bubble, but I got a transparently better sound using two instances of AA Coffee with AA ASH with slight lower LUFS (I didn't want to clip it too had I guess?)

lesson learned. I don't know where you find the time to know your stuff work out and make music but very chad, bro.
Stopped using multiband compression as such and now use Sonible Smart compressor in spectral mode, astoundingly transparent, even on high ratios for pseudo limiting,which I’ve never heard anybody talking about, check it out, was a game changer for me for surgical compression

it can sound drastic, but one of my go to on my master is Wavesfactory Spectre, love ading top end with it, its much different than Saturn for example

That AA HWMC is a beast. I use Gullfoss, Fabfilter Saturn 2, AA Rust, AA Pensado EQ2, AA Erin, Leapwing DynOne 3, Sonible Smart Limiter, and Ozone 9 ( might upgrade to Ozone 10)

Two levels of saturation...and I still use that with JAM the new Acustica Audio Saturator 3 dimentions of saturation. Y, x, and z-axes my G.

MD4 from TC Electronic.
It’s a great plug-in and was built with the same algorithm of TC 6000.
If you don’t know it, it’s worth it to check it out.

Honorable mention....Newfangled Audio Elevate = MAGIC!
ATR-102 (default preset but don't hit to hard (maybe change the tape formula))
Elevate (default preset and turn up the Spectral Clipper to around 1-2 dB then the Clipper Shape to taste )
Ozone (run Master assistant then turn off the the Maximizer )
Oxford Limiter (get level then Enhance Curve to taste )
yes, your opinion on HWMC would be very good, I'm confused with Acustica Audio,... I compared Coffe with Chandler from Softube and, ultimately, I'm far away from Softube,... How about Elysia? I tried plug-in emulation and they wasn’t bad at all. Now I’m planning to build a 500 series stereo channel based on their units (eq, exciter, compressor), for using on master channel as well. Does worth it? Thank you.
The only plugins that are available also in 500 series is Karacter which is one of my least favorite hw from them, the plugin will be of course below that and the Mpressor which is again not really meant for 2bus, that would be the Xpressor or the Alpha (not in 500 series). The Xpressor is a good unit, I have it, the Xfliter has very little headroom, def not for 2bus for me and the Karacter I said already.

They are similar, not exactly the same in functions, as far as the sound, of course there's a difference between them, a very substantial difference 😄

how much ram does your computer have? and is there any formular to roughly calculate how many specific vst plugins and audiotracks your computer can handle? i want to upgrade to a new computer but i'm not sure if the affordable options right now are really worthy and if they will give me the performance boost i need to handle big projects
plugins don't weight on RAM they weight on CPU. VSTs weight on RAM. So pick specs according to what you need most
@@mixbustv thanx...i guess with VSTs you mean vst instruments with samples ...i know that higher sample content needs more ram but that means with a i9-12900 cpu and 8gb ram i can use as much vst effect plugins as with 32gb ram?

If I may add to this: in audio world, if you have done stuff for a long time and you have old (or not even that old) plugins that you like to use, or some other legacy piece of software, you CAN always get them to work on a Windows machine, usually without breaking a sweat. Them Apples are (in)famous for their incompatibility issues with legacy software; when you update the OS and/or hardware (M1, duhh) you may have to wave goodbye to your old favourite VSTs, and in worst case scenario, take a long break from working at all, until software manufacturers catch up with updates. I used to work on a Mac, and I always avoided any OS updates as long as I could, so I wouldn't run into some issues. Although, at some point your OS will get too old for the latest software to work, so you are forced to upgrade - and hope for the best ;)

Well in fact i think i understand when asking you the question ...
That s why my sound was different . Cut the Low Freq with the Mid Filter : you still have the Low on the sides... That' s logic.
The Focusrite Fast-Limiter is more transparent than Smart:Limit. That is scary in itself, given Smart:Limit is the most recognized Limiter Plugin. It blew me away after comparing them side-by-side. Both Sonible under-the-hood.
You're right but when smart:limit is slapped onto the master bus with at least one to three Acustica Audio mastering plugins, you just CANNOT go wrong with that chain.
@E. IRIZARRY It all depends on what is needed when maintaining the mix's frequency spectrum. Since every plug-in has its unique sound, knowing your toolbox helps tremendously in deciding what is applied to the signal chain that makes the most common sense. That is why relying on your ears outweighs more than using the same signal chain combination on everything you come across.

Hello ! I have a little question, when we compress with a sidechain around 150 hz, does it compress the bass or only above ? I have the feeling that the bass pop up and become louder !

Everything above the frequency you select for your side chain is compressed. In this example everything above the 150hz is compressed. Hope that helps! #VibeResponsibly
Internal sidechain will take away everything from the corner frequency down form the compressor detector. Meaning that part of the audio, in your case below 150, will not TRIGGER the compressor. The compressor is still a wideband and it will compress the entire spectrum, but it will not REACT to the bass content.

@@CrispyAkiyama Absolutely NOT. Please refer to answer if you're not knoledgeable enough. You can watch my videos on internal sidechain and how it works. The eq, in this case filter, of the internal sidechain does NOT turn a wideband compressor into a either multiband or band selective one. It simply removes the low end FROM THE DETECTOR, which means every time the compressor compresses the signal, it compresses the ENTIRE signal. 20Hz to 20K. The low end will not TRIGGER the compressor, but the compressor will till compress it when it compresses. Big difference and something I've been explaining for a long time, it confuses people a lot.

Elevate is a multiband limiter, there are very few situations in which you'd use that instead of a wideband, it's funny to me that people use it as default
