  • In this video Burris Optics walks you through the process of mounting, sighting in, and teaching the Oracle 2 your bow's arrow trajectory. We also discuss storing multiple arrow profiles and how to create a more accurate arrow trajectory profile for longer distance shooting.
    Burris Optics is proud to introduce the new and improved Oracle 2 Rangefinding Bow Sight. The Oracle 2’s design is based on all the customer feedback we got from the original Oracle and includes: Improved Auto-Brightness Detection, Improved Manual Brightness Control (lower levels), Improved Set-Up (micro-adjustments on LRF), better waterproofing and more accurate arrow drop calculations. The function is still the same... range your target at full draw with the push of a button. The Oracle 2 instantly provides the distance to your target and an exact aiming point that factors in the angle of your shot.
    No more guessing distance, fumbling with rangefinders, dialing sights or aiming between pins. Most importantly no more watching the trophy of a lifetime walk away because you didn’t have time to range him and shoot or worse yet, tried to range him and spooked him from the movement!
    Don’t leave your shot of a lifetime to chance. Get the Oracle 2 from Burris. Find what matters!
    Expected to be available in June at select Burris Dealers with an estimated price of $799.

    Seems pretty awesome! Is there a manual option available? As in saving different distances and selecting which distance or “pin” to use like an old school pin sight where the pins are set for 10-50 yds?

      Hello David,
      No, but there is a default LED tree in 10 yard increments if you cant get a range. You can also simply range the ground at you feet to display that feature also.

    Over the past two days I got my new Oracle 2 sighted in. Absolutely incredible!
    My question is around the up and down arrows(for Sr1 and Sr2.) I got a tight group of three arrows all within a quarter to a half an inch of one another. All three euros after a couple rounds are directly in the center of the circle I’m aiming at but right at 12 o’clock on the target circle. So because I want the arrows to be a little bit lower than the Bullseye, do I press the arrow up to bring the grouping down a hair? Since I already saved the SR one and SR two am I gonna have to re-cite in the SR one and SR two or are you able to click on SR one and just press the arrow one or two to bring the group down a bit as I mentioned above?
    Thanks so much for top notch product !!!!!

      Hello,
      Please contact our technical support team on this inquiry. customerservice@burrisoptics.com.
      To be honest for what you are saying, you will effect you overall curve at distance by having the arrows hit below center. It is extremely important to have the impact dead center at 20 yards to get the best ballistic curve out of your SR1, and SR2.

    Great video, I really appreciate you guys going through the details. I just ordered my BO2 from Cabelas, it will be here next week. The only concern I have is that I am shooting 740grains out of a Hoyt Ventum 33 @ 28.5DL 70lbs. It’s a fast bow, until you send logs through it. Will the sight still be able to function as intended shooting 740 grains out of a 2021 bow?

    I'm really looking into one of.these sights,what I'm not understanding is setting the sight for 3 different yardages,is the 3 different yardage what gives the sight the Intel for how your bow is set up and the speed of your shots,after sighting in is this what tells the sight how to automatically adjust with the range finder??

    • @BurrisOpticsCompany
      @BurrisOpticsCompany  Рік тому

      The truing points help the scope build the proper curve based on real feedback. So you don't need to worry about the speed or how the bow is set up, since you're going off of actual fired feedback.

    Will the oracle 2 compensate for uphill/downhill shooting? Is there a calibration for the uphill/downhill compensation? How long is the range compensating pin lit after letting off the trigger (PTT)? If shooting at moving game such as pheasant or rabbit how fast does the range compensation pin respond to the changing range?

    • @BurrisOpticsCompany
      @BurrisOpticsCompany  2 роки тому +2

      The range is displayed almost instantly after depressing the range button, and will stay illuminated for 90 seconds. The Oracle 2 will compensate for shooting up or down hills.

    Both videos were well done! Does using multiple point increase the accuracy of the laser "over all". 20, 30, 40 ,50.. does it help to shoot better at 80 and 90 yards or should you 20 40 60 80 to help it calibrate better to laser 20-80? OR does it matter the set distances and once the Oracle 2 has four ref distances?

    • @BurrisOpticsCompany
      @BurrisOpticsCompany  2 роки тому +1

      Hello Martin,
      Using multiple points with have no bearing on laser accuracy. However, it will build a more accurate ballistic curve for you arrow.
      I would always recommend using 4 point of reference to provide the shooter the most effective shot possible.
      If you will be shooting distances outside (further) of where you have set your initial ballistic curve, I would definitely recommend changing at least one of your data points to a further distance. This will help make sure that the curve has been created appropriately for those longer distance shots.

      Understand, but what distance will be more beneficial to achieve maximum accuracy 20-80?

    • @BurrisOpticsCompany
      @BurrisOpticsCompany  2 роки тому +1

      I would set my curve at 40, 50, 70, and 80. for best accuracy.
      Most bows these days have slim to no change in arrow arch from 20 to 30, and 20 is the base line for your curve since it is zero.

    • @BurrisOpticsCompany

      The physical pin is both an aiming point for getting the sight setup AND a failsafe in case of battery failure. It works almost as well as a fiber optic pin from a conventional bow sight.

    • @BurrisOpticsCompany

      Hi there! Once you set your desired ranges, it will give you a range for everything in between, and beyond until it determines there is not enough holdover in the reticle to shoot that far. Let's say you choose ranges of 30 and 70...that will give you a REALLY good curve from 20-70+. You don't have to set more than that as the scope will figure it out for you. I hope that helps!

      Yes! I'm glad you asked. The procedure works like an old school Mortal Kombat fatality.
      From normal operating mode, press the following buttons in order each within 2 seconds of each other or the unit will time out:
      Set, UP, DOWN, Menu, Trigger (PTT)
      After pressing the trigger the software will reset and you'll see the startup layout. It can be helpful to do this after a "range fault" displays because you'll see a layout change from the "ballistic dot" to the "startup state" with just the 20 yard LRF aiming dot lit.

    Question. I shoot a 2022 PSE Levitate. It's 85lbs and I'm shooting a 550gn arrow about 307fps. Is that going to be out of the general recommended specs for initial sighting? Because you said it gives a general aiming point based on average 70lbs bows. This levitate is Screaming fast. Just wondering if I should aim a little lower to compensate for the speed and lack of trajectory curve????

    • @BurrisOpticsCompany
      @BurrisOpticsCompany  3 роки тому

      The 20 yard pin is fixed and is the first of several points the Oracle uses to calculate the trajectory of your arrows. The maximum range of the laser is 200 yards on non-reflective, deer sized targets though your ability to stay in the sight is entirely dependent on the drop of your arrows.

      You are not shooting anything at 200yds.
      As far as I know most archery hunts are within maybe 60yds?
      I know only a handfull of people in my area who can hit something repeatedly at 110yds (with a compoundbow) and even that is just hitting a mansized targed. Not giving the animal a clean shot.
      Olympians shoot at 76-76yds.
      If you want to test out the limits of archery, that's cool, but then this sight is maybe not the right thing.
