Amazing sites that we all need to get out and see. I love that everyone cooks and works together. I hope Caroline is enjoying her indepent time. I respect you all for supporting her in taking this time. When I was in college I wanted to do a spring break in Florida with girl friends. My gruff Dad told me no. My older brother told me not to ask but advice him I was going. The next thing I knew he was getting our second car all ready for a long road trip. He wanted us to be safe. This adventure is on my bucket list. I'd like to drive to Fort George, QC via the Labrador Hwy from Newfoundland, and then venture out to Governor Island, Qikiqtaaluk Region, NU so I can set foot in Nunavut. Guessing I'll have to win the Loto in order to pay for fuel & food though.
That would be a wonderful trip.

I'm also a fan of "shoulder" season, I traveled the Dempster in late august and didn't see another Overlander until the arctic sign! Cool evenings definitely provide respite from the bugs 😂.

Yeah up there you either deal with black flies and mosquitos , or you deal with the cold , add wind and rain - snow , I'm not sure whitch is the less evil lol . When I was there it was summer and the bugs were out , but the temp was pleasant with nice sunshine , bug repellent sprays and lotions , and a thermacell helped ward off the insects. Either way your trip is bringing back fond memories , I was up there twice over the past couple of years and yeah the rivers and scenery are impressive and so beautifully remote . This is definitely getting me even more excited about my trip to Tuk , and making me want to go again , up to the James Bay shore and all the friendly communities up there , and do the Trans Taiga again .

Awesome video! I have travelled this road for work but my travels were limited to Wemindji being the farthest I have gone on the James-Bay road. My future plans are to make it to Chisasibi and complete the Trans-Taiga.

I was wondering if you guys did any long-term reviews on your jeeps. There is a bit of controversy in the off-road/overlanding community regarding the reliability of the jeep wrangler/gladiators. It seems that consumer reports hate Jeeps and have consistently given them poor ratings. Yet, they are among the most popular rigs for Overlanding.

A 70 year old rookie here, I’m a bit undecided between the Gladiator & the Wrangler.
Another thing, I’ve driving a Semi for 30+ year aka: a diesel
On your Wranglers are they gas powered? I’m kind of leaning in the direction of a diesel in whichever I decide to go with, do you have an opinion gas or diesel?
and Wranglers have enough room to add a auxiliary fuel tank?
Hi there. Both are jeeps are gas powered and both have auxiliary fuel tanks. We’ve heard good things about the diesel engines as well though. Keep on adventuring!

Thankfully, our Jeeps have been very reliable so far. We’ve had a few minor issues, but no real engine problems at all.

There’s no cell coverage between Matagami and Radisson. There is a fuel station halfway up that has Wi-Fi though. 👍🏻
