Good question. In my experience, the roots are not too vigorous and are probably not destructive. My plants are 10 years old now and next to the house. No damage has been observed.
Thanks for the kind words... Ours will eventually reach full sun, so this is great to hear. Recently, we've had some mealy bugs attack one of our specimens... I was surprised to see them on a fern. A nice spray of neem oil took care of them. Have a great day!
I live in San Diego (inland) and it can get over 100 degrees in the summer. As long as it isn't in full sun and under a canopy, it should do fine in zones 9-10.
It actually grows up to 50 feet and lives over a 100 years old 👍
Thanks for the clarfication
can they damage pavers, patio or concrete flooring?

I found this at Lowes or Home Depot in San Diego County around a decade ago... Good luck!
Good work on the ID many get it wrong, thanks. Just for your info these tree ferns will take full sun provided sufficient water is available

Are tree ferns pioneer species when it comes to succession?
I'd say yes?
How hot is it where you live? I have mine indoors and its fine but i would love to put it outdoors, but it gets to 100° where i live.
