Unfortunately these have escaped from cultivation in Hawaii to become yet another exotic / invasive plant.

Australian tree fern encompasses several families. These belong to cyathea, leaf scars. Dickinsonias retain part of the frond, but yes, recently this specific one has been moved to a seperate, 3rd family since then.

You are a good neighbour. My neighbour cuts the fronds from my tree ferns when they go over the fence. Looks terrible. I'll be moving them to a safe location soon

I have 6 in a clump Dicksonians at 55°N (North East Uk). They tolerate -4/-5°C fairly well with some frostburn on the leaves. Straw in the crown keeps the knuckles alive over our winters👍

Grew up with a beautiful one in Walnut Creek in the 80s. Would usually get a little leaf burn in the summer, but gorgeous most of the year with a little winter protection out there.

I just got one and it got droopy and brown. Might be underwatering as the original pot has bark for soil! So mad !

In Daly City and hoping this tree will work underneath my Ray Hartman tree. It's in the eastern part of yard with shade till about noon. So I hope it does well.

Okay well 12 ft wide and 30 ft tall I think wouldn't be good spot. Thanks!
