An Experiment to Slow down the Melting of ice cube

A simple experiment for students to follow and conduct their own experiments at home.
The objective is to find ways to slow down the melting of an ice cube.
This idea can then be transferred and applied to keep cold drinks cold for as long as possible.
Students are free to select any materials and design to achieve the objective.

Why has nobody ever tried vacuuming sealed ice I bet it would work for a while 😅

Vacuum seal in a plastic bag does not help as heat is still able to be conducted through the plastic due to the full contact with ice.
However, if you put the ice in a metal vacuum bottle like a thermo flask, it will work very well as there will be much less air molecules to conduct heat.
