I've never held a Strider, much less owned one, but this vid was quite informative. I know what to look for if I ever do purchase an SNG or SMG. I'm gonna have to come over someday and play with your knives :) Great vid, Randy!
Lots of great information. I had the same knife as you, but with stonewashed blade and sold it. Strider makes a great knife, but unlike Hinderer and Chris Reeve, he tends to ignore the "little things". On my SNG DGG, I could not stand the heavy pocket wear. I now have a Startac Unmumzaan that also has extremely grippy TI scales. The difference: Chris Reeve keeps the TI smooth under the clip to greatly reduce pocket wear. I wish Strider would improve this and other small design "flaws".
@mindsmirror Thanks, I hope these two videos will help somebody. I know when I was new to the SnG I would of liked a FAQ video, Strider really does not give anything along with the knife. No instructions, no warranty stuff/card... Nothing. Just a knife in a ziplock bag, Thanks for watching :)
Great info man! Been around long enough to know all of it, but it will serve as an EXCELLENT video for those looking for these exact questions! Great stuff and glad to see you on here again! Always enjoy the eye candy. lol
Great vid with real life use info here instead of the usual "review." Ive been thinking about trading my L micarta sebbie for a DGG SnG since I already have a few sebbies. Ive owned a couple legos in the past and I really do love the ergos and action on the SnGs. Tough choice.
Awesome, never have been a big strider fan but now I know what the double gunner grip is! I always thought it was the shape of the handles or something.
@SolosKnifeReviews LOL, and I thought you were in Sonora, CA. I was just a wee bit off. I will do just that. I'd never pass up an opportunity for some bottle cuttin'!
on the issue of the hinderer lock stop, i think they are confusing the newer lock stops like the ones on the lionspy's, lionsteel's SR-1, and a few other i can remember that actually turn and lock down the frame lock, similar to the auto lawks on CRKT
Now Randy, I have been thinking about starting a small savings so I may purchase a large seb. or a Strider. I like the look of the Strider but I have heard people have issues with them and their customer service while, from what I can find, there are very few who have had any issues with CRK. That said, I love the look of the Seb. and I think that, in the decades to come, I think the classic looks of the sebenza will overrule the coolness of the Strider. Your take?
@SolosKnifeReviews I didnt, This was my first cr knife, I wasnt aware I could send it in, after several emails to Heather she replied to me, maybe with a bit of hard work i could sell it on forums....I told them it was uncomfortable for me to open and everything, they let me down big time and ill never give them another dime, I bought it new from onestopknifeshop, and it had a date of production of nearly 2yrs old lol....
can you wave it out of your pocket with the thumbstuds? one dude i think bbabear. im not sure anymore. but the dude stated he carried a strider for self defense and another guy taught him how to wave it with the studs and then when he got an emerson he had to relearn the different kind of wave.
@godse7en They never told me to send it in... this was along time ago, I liked the knife alot, i wasnt going to use it as is tho it was to hard to open and I didnt trust it...I have never heard that from a company tho, tellin you to sell it on forums rather then send it in, so I dont support cr anymore.
@gamlingcs
I think your right! The Hinderer stop does not screw down and "lock" the lockbar, some people may get that confused.
Thanks for watching :)

Striders are not for everyone, I like the looks just as I like the looks of most Spydercos
Thanks for watching :)
Very informative video man! Cant wait for the 2nd part!
@Sanitarium462

Both are great, lighter carry.. SnG! Better cutter and longer cutting edge? Umnumzaan...
Awesome, never have been a big strider fan but now I know what the double gunner grip is!
I always thought it was the shape of the handles or something.
Ended up picking up an SnG DGG RG SW on USN. I'm loving it so far!
@SolosKnifeReviews
LOL, and I thought you were in Sonora, CA. I was just a wee bit off.
I will do just that. I'd never pass up an opportunity for some bottle cuttin'!
@Halfmoon67

Thanks for watching :)

All of my Striders come from China. I had no idea Strider was in China.
Really awesome video man! You make me want one of these, but I gotta be careful with my moolah! Hahah
this is one of the first helpful and extremely intelligent and informational strider videos I've seen, great job and keep it up
My fav Strider video on the 'tube. That's one well-used SnG!
@Halfmoon67 & SolosKnifeReviews
Ditto Randy. Really interesting account of your experiences. Thanks for sharing.
Should i get a strider sng Lego or a DGG. It will go trought hard cuting task and it seem the lego is build heavier.
My strider SMF DGG doesn’t have the milled groves in the lock bard

Good video mate! Should be helpful for those looking at Striders.
@gundude73
Hahaha....
No!!!!!
Does my DGG not have “finger groves” because it’s a different gen ?
@SolosKnifeReviews I didnt, This was my first cr knife, I wasnt aware I could send it in, after several emails to Heather she replied to me, maybe with a bit of hard work i could sell it on forums....I told them it was uncomfortable for me to open and everything, they let me down big time and ill never give them another dime, I bought it new from onestopknifeshop, and it had a date of production of nearly 2yrs old lol....
@Sanitarium462 umnums suck they fold up when spine tapped on the back of ur hand... least my new one did,

@26point2madness
Lots of truth in your post! I would love to see the sharpening notch go bye bye!
Thanks for watching :)
Those aren't lanyard holes but wire striper holes for donation cord.
I'm having a really hard time deciding Umnum or SNG...
@traderjoes
Haha, keep on rocking that Reeve!!
Grab a used SnG or SMF when you can, at least try one for a bit! :)
