Hey Matt! I'm very excited to see you play Plants vs. Zombies 2, and I REALLY hope you don't give up on the game. It's my favorite game of all time, and I would love to see you make a full series on it! Also, the game will probably have you playing for a long time, as new content is released monthly, usually in the form of new plants and limited time levels.
I remember back when this game first came out, and it was the most fun I've ever had with a mobile game, hope it brings Matt the same joy it did for me.
Tip: always use the almanac on new plants you get, you always want to make sure its stats are good and better than your current plants/straight up better abilities
Mattshea just to let you know plant food doesn't stack for other levels (except for the endless levels. Not endless vase though) so don't be scared to use all your plant food on the end of a level.

In the past you got one key for beaten the gargantuan in each world, now you get them all at once. This makes progression Slightly faster. The game is currently much better than it used to be. As someone who played it since it came out and have fully beaten it I can guarantee that levels will pretty soon be insane difficulty wise. Also some of the zombie have pretty awesome gimmicks. Edit: They changed the progression system again.

It's a pretty good game overall, but it's sadly put down by the greed of EA, but I'm sure there are apps out there that are able to let you disable ads, or maybe an emulated version could take care of that. I'm unsure, but at the very least I am exited for the series to continue on! It'll be fun to see his reaction to all the new stuff and playing the more intense levels.
i got softlocked in old pvz2 once, i used up my keys on save our seeds (forgetting its impossible with only early game pvz1 plants) thankfully mummy memory saved me, i farmed mummy memory until i had 4 keys, which i can then unlock mummy memory and get the remaining two stars to ublock pirate seas. i freaked out until i realized mummy memory existed (cuz i wasted my 4 keys on impossible levels)
Tip:As you know there is multiple worlds in PvZ2 and, I wanted to give you a tip for the 3rd one, now I know you're a little behind for this tip but, I'm just gonna say: USE LIGHTNING REED: It's a plant unlocked in the third world, Can hit on three lanes and it's attack has a chance to chain through zombies (And a pretty decent one too), altough it does little damage, that can be fixed with upgrading it, that plant is probably one of the more OP free plants in PvZ 2
Two things to take note of Matt: 1: Conveyers give you less seed packets the more seeds are on it. 2: You can place seed packets by tapping on the packet, then tapping on the desired tile.
Matt you should try Project ECLISE, it’s a Pvz2 mod that has harder levels than Pvz2, there’s an easy mode and also hardcore mode (hardcore is in-game), you can obtain anything in the game by playing it (NO ADS), and the levels are also really creative, for example in the 15th level, 2-5 you can’t have more than 5 plants planted simultaneously, and as soon as you dig a plant, it becomes available for you to plant again. (the level is called The Counter, so you can guess what this level is about) There are special plants you can get early by finishing secret levels, which are harder, and available to play as you progress in the game. (the 1st one is available after the 6th level, it can be accessed in the travel log under ''challenges'', S-0 and S-1 are not that hard) The mod is a bit tricky to install, but I think it’s worth it (in Goodpea2’s UA-cam channel there’s a tutorial of how to download it on anything that runs android)
So excited to see you playing Pvz2, I agree the forced adds are a nuisance, and as far as I know there’s no way to remove them without emulating the game, that’s one of my only gripes. Supposedly the reason the music doesn’t work, is about 2 months ago the game was no longer supported by the current iOS system, so if you don’t have android, chances are you won’t get any music, just sound effects, which is a shame because some of the sound tracks in this game are absolute bangers. Keep up the good work, and happy holidays!

Anybody else remember that matching level with the Camel Zombie? I miss that. Of course, if Matt goes back and looks at ~2014 PvZ 2, there's a ton different than now. Some good, some bad. It's still an enjoyable game overall though (still minus microtransactions). I can't wait for more, Matt
Quick tip, kill the early zombies late so you have more sun for the later waves because it gets a little hard on the end stages. Just a little... Totally

Oh yeah, there’s this glitch on some platforms where the music just doesn’t exist. It has been going on for… at least a few months? EA has said and done f(___) all about it. I personally use an emulator and the music works on that.

The thing is, the game was hard but since they added the levels you can literally pass the game only with peashooters, ultimate experiencve would be, no plant upgrades Also tips!! 1- Zombies start spawning after a while, but only the first one, the other wont spawn until you hit that one, so you freeze it and plant sunflowers or what I do, put a mine in the end so he need to travel more, that give you time to get enough sun 2- In this game you can swype to collect all sun 3- Iceberg Lettuce with plant food freezes all zombies, that can be useful if you struggle 4- Boomerang plants can hit up tp 3 plants, and the boomerang wont come back till it hit all 3, so I dont recommend if not fighting hordes 5- Using a nutrient on a plant make it invincible while the effect is on, you can Use it to save a plant on emergencies 6- I want you to suffer so I wont say more, but try to stop the zombies who are a threat with the lettuce
Matt there's a mod you should try out once you're a fair way through pvz2 called pvz2: eclise (yes without the P) basically it rebalanced everything and removes microstransactions, pretty cool
tip: even though youre gonna buy the premium plants later in the game, the current event, feastivus, which is the christmas event has special plants that would only be available now, so buy them now, you dont have to use them during the levels though

Some quick tips for the beginning of the series. Use the plant food stragetically. Make sure you have the plant food metre full by the end of the round because it transfers to the next. The main plant I would recommend using plant food is on the sunflowers. Its the most efficient one.
Tips for plant food: 1: Each and every plant has their own unique plant food effect so you should always try out every single one that you find. 2: You can use plant food on the seed packs On the left of your screen that you use the plant your plants with And if it's charging up it'll automatically recharge.
Matt i got some info about the game. There a like 7-10 different time lines that you will go to in the future. In every time line you can get and find different trophies that give you more plant slots and stuff. You will also have a garden,when the plants that are in the garden are fully grown you can they get the plant food buff every time you place the plant(Only lasts for one stage,after that it dissapears in the garden and then you can plant another plant).In the future there will be tournaments in which you can get special plants,seed packets,money,diamonds... On some plants you can't use plant food.When you upgrade plants too a certain level like the peashooter its peas are super strong and fast. You can also buy plants in the shop for 100 diamonds.For some of them you need a certain amount of their seeds to get them. You'll also have a ton of special quests in which you can get diamonds,seed packets...And also try out some plants. This is all the info for now,bye.
Hey Matt, if you’re feeling like a challenge and PvZ2 seems a little bland or too easy for you then you should definitely check out the most popular mod of it called Eclise. It’s seen as the better version of PvZ2 since there is a huge difficulty ramp up, and all the plants are unlockable through beating regular stages (even the ones that would need to normally be purchased), there’s about triple the amount of levels made compared to regular PvZ2 and they’re all unique, as well as hundreds of custom mini games made that PvZ2 never had, and to top it all off every plant has had balance changes and several reworks so that each one of them are useful in their own ways to make sure the game isn’t stale. I 100% recommend checking it out since the main complaint I see from PvZ2 is that it gets un-fun because several plants are highly unbalanced, this is the mod to definitely hop onto if you need a higher difficulty. If you don’t that’s ok, it’s definitely the type of thing to check out after you’ve experienced everything from the original PvZ2 since the original game itself is still really good, thank you for taking the time to read this. 😄🙏
As a player of pv2 here are some tips: No.1 - For the starting plants bloomerang, bonk choy, and iceberg lettuce are quite pretty useful and mostly compatible in every world. Bloomerang's piercing and double damage ability can really help u out in many situation and certain circumstances for a price lower than 200 (more preferrable than any long range plants with piercing) Bonk Choy's fast melee attack rate may not be seem outstanding but a bonk a level keeps zombie away hehe like FR it can handle a whole bunch of zombies by himself just play it correctly like planting meatshields in front of them, it can also attack both front and back (and also my ace plant) And Finally Iceberg Lettuce. Is freezing a zombie ur taste? Well here it is the lettuce. It can be quite useful in early waves (for the stall strat) Its kinda hard to explain but it can really help by stalling the 1st zombie as much as possible and its also useful by freezing gargantuars and zombies with abilities like torch zombie. So if possible prioritize this plants and upgrade them as much as u can don't waste ur coins on other plants like sunflower because when u upgrade them their toughness increase by "50" and decrease their recharge time by ".5" which are both useless (for me) No. 2 - a sun is equivalent to 50 but still plant a 2 lane of sunflowers, with this don't be afraid bring a expensive plant such as coconut cannon. Oh and if u acquire the twin sunflower use them, u dont need to bring sunflower too because they are now considered as a plant not a upgrade plant. Thats all for now hehehe (sorry for my bad english lol) Love ur vids man 💖💖💖
1. Experiment with Plant Food effects. Each plant has its own effect, and some are better than others. 2. Every plant that isn't instant-use has an effect. Plants like Potato Mine and Hypno-Shroom are not insta-use. 3. Make sure to check the Almanac whenever it has an ! mark. 4. Cabbage-pults also deal identical damage to Peashooters when at the same level.
This series is going to be so good also tip for completing the first world easily is to upgrade bloomerang quite abit Atleast to level three or four Atleast under ten because it shreds through the first world
Here are some tips: it's best to plant the boomerang plant all the way in the end in front of the lawnmower. The boomerangs go farther at the end more then the ones in the front.
Tip:I think cabbage pult with plant food can help alot if there are too many zombies and if u make this a full series U should do it on a friday and call it Frightening Friday
Fun Fact: Do you know why on the 1st level of this game (in this current build) it says level 5, its beceause when the game originaly lauched the beginning was very diffrent, It would start off with 1 lane and go like the tutorial of pvz 1 until level 5 where you would have ur basic 4 plants, peashooter, wall nut, sunflower and potato mine, cabbage pult was unlocked in the egypt tutorial, another change is that the gargantuar level used to be much harder since it was at the middle of egypt not at the beginning, the last change is that originally dr zomboss didn't appear until the middle of egypt, the reason why dave and penny ended up back in time is that penny was tired of dave going back in time to eat his taco again and again so she decided to prank him and it ended with them trapped in time and you had to progress through levels to find ur way back home.
Hey matt, here's a small tip, since you have access to cabage pult from the start, you do not need to use peashooters anymore since cabage pults kill a zombie quicker! Also, thier plant food super targets all zombies on the lawn while the peashooter can only target the ones infront of it. Hope this helps!🙂
You know, a few years later when I played this game. The introduction was slow, teaching you how to place plants and what does sunflowers do. Also that you get the boomerang flower and the power ups later in the game. I’m surprise that they did not tell u any of that.
Tip : Another function of Plant Food is its ability to speed up the recharge of seed packets. When a Plant Food is dragged on top of a seed packet that is still recharging, it instantly becomes available for use. :)))))

Tips for plant food:
1: Each and every plant has their own unique plant food effect so you should always try out every single one that you find.
2: You can use plant food on the seed packs On the left of your screen that you use the plant your plants with And if it's charging up it'll automatically recharge.
U need one of the thropies for that but yes that is true (the second part that u said)
Matt i got some info about the game.
There a like 7-10 different time lines that you will go to in the future.
In every time line you can get and find different trophies that give you more plant slots and stuff.
You will also have a garden,when the plants that are in the garden are fully grown you can they get the plant food buff every time you place the plant(Only lasts for one stage,after that it dissapears in the garden and then you can plant another plant).In the future there will be tournaments in which you can get special plants,seed packets,money,diamonds...
On some plants you can't use plant food.When you upgrade plants too a certain level like the peashooter its peas are super strong and fast.
You can also buy plants in the shop for 100 diamonds.For some of them you need a certain amount of their seeds to get them.
You'll also have a ton of special quests in which you can get diamonds,seed packets...And also try out some plants.

Hey Matt, if you’re feeling like a challenge and PvZ2 seems a little bland or too easy for you then you should definitely check out the most popular mod of it called Eclise. It’s seen as the better version of PvZ2 since there is a huge difficulty ramp up, and all the plants are unlockable through beating regular stages (even the ones that would need to normally be purchased), there’s about triple the amount of levels made compared to regular PvZ2 and they’re all unique, as well as hundreds of custom mini games made that PvZ2 never had, and to top it all off every plant has had balance changes and several reworks so that each one of them are useful in their own ways to make sure the game isn’t stale. I 100% recommend checking it out since the main complaint I see from PvZ2 is that it gets un-fun because several plants are highly unbalanced, this is the mod to definitely hop onto if you need a higher difficulty. If you don’t that’s ok, it’s definitely the type of thing to check out after you’ve experienced everything from the original PvZ2 since the original game itself is still really good, thank you for taking the time to read this. 😄🙏
As a player of pv2 here are some tips:
No.1 - For the starting plants bloomerang, bonk choy, and iceberg lettuce are quite pretty useful and mostly compatible in every world.
Bloomerang's piercing and double damage ability can really help u out in many situation and certain circumstances for a price lower than 200 (more preferrable than any long range plants with piercing)
Bonk Choy's fast melee attack rate may not be seem outstanding but a bonk a level keeps zombie away hehe like FR it can handle a whole bunch of zombies by himself just play it correctly like planting meatshields in front of them, it can also attack both front and back (and also my ace plant)
And Finally Iceberg Lettuce. Is freezing a zombie ur taste? Well here it is the lettuce. It can be quite useful in early waves (for the stall strat) Its kinda hard to explain but it can really help by stalling the 1st zombie as much as possible and its also useful by freezing gargantuars and zombies with abilities like torch zombie.
So if possible prioritize this plants and upgrade them as much as u can don't waste ur coins on other plants like sunflower because when u upgrade them their toughness increase by "50" and decrease their recharge time by ".5" which are both useless (for me)
No. 2 - a sun is equivalent to 50 but still plant a 2 lane of sunflowers, with this don't be afraid bring a expensive plant such as coconut cannon. Oh and if u acquire the twin sunflower use them, u dont need to bring sunflower too because they are now considered as a plant not a upgrade plant.

1. Experiment with Plant Food effects. Each plant has its own effect, and some are better than others.
2. Every plant that isn't instant-use has an effect. Plants like Potato Mine and Hypno-Shroom are not insta-use.
3. Make sure to check the Almanac whenever it has an ! mark.
4. Cabbage-pults also deal identical damage to Peashooters when at the same level.

Tip: its best to go to every era and do the first level of every era so u get a lot of plants because u get a plant whenever u beat the first level

This series is going to be so good also tip for completing the first world easily is to upgrade bloomerang quite abit Atleast to level three or four Atleast under ten because it shreds through the first world

Here are some tips: it's best to plant the boomerang plant all the way in the end in front of the lawnmower. The boomerangs go farther at the end more then the ones in the front.

Fun Fact: Do you know why on the 1st level of this game (in this current build) it says level 5, its beceause when the game originaly lauched the beginning was very diffrent,
It would start off with 1 lane and go like the tutorial of pvz 1 until level 5 where you would have ur basic 4 plants, peashooter, wall nut, sunflower and potato mine, cabbage pult was unlocked in the egypt tutorial,
another change is that the gargantuar level used to be much harder since it was at the middle of egypt not at the beginning,
the last change is that originally dr zomboss didn't appear until the middle of egypt, the reason why dave and penny ended up back in time is that penny was tired of dave going back in time to eat his taco again and again so she decided to prank him and it ended with them trapped in time and you had to progress through levels to find ur way back home.
Hey matt, here's a small tip, since you have access to cabage pult from the start, you do not need to use peashooters anymore since cabage pults kill a zombie quicker! Also, thier plant food super targets all zombies on the lawn while the peashooter can only target the ones infront of it. Hope this helps!🙂
Yeah but it is slow
You know, a few years later when I played this game. The introduction was slow, teaching you how to place plants and what does sunflowers do. Also that you get the boomerang flower and the power ups later in the game. I’m surprise that they did not tell u any of that.
Tip : Another function of Plant Food is its ability to speed up the recharge of seed packets. When a Plant Food is dragged on top of a seed packet that is still recharging, it instantly becomes available for use. :)))))
