    The lake we hunted last year, the birds left by 730. We would start to pack up at 11, and start seeing the birds come back around 12. So we changed up and stayed until 130. That helped. Watch the time patterns!

    I plan on putting in more effort this coming season. I got a new hunting buddy to go with this year so I will be a little more motivated to get out there more since I won’t be solo all the time.

    Tip: if you're hunting Arkansas public hunt until you start hearing other people leaving. Give up right then.
    What you do is go find three holes minimum. Then go to camp.
    If you hunt then find three new holes daily. Eventually you have your GPS full of spots and you never ever stress about a spot again. There are hundreds of holes where I hunt.
    Hundreds!
    If all fails I'll hunt in a boat lane and kill ducks. The ducks tend to land where trails branch off the main run. They ain't stupid

    Who wants to go home? I'm out all day, every day. If I'm lucky enough to limit early, I spend the rest of the day bird watching, scouting, and spending time with my dog...

      Thats the type of person i am. You put so much effort into getting to the spot setting up a spread for 3 hrs of hunting lol not me. I like to stay till sunset even if i take a nap in the bush for an hr or so i stay put. Lol the guys I hunt with always wanna go back by 10 o'clock lol and for me hell no then at 3 o'clock the wanna come back till sunset lol so technically they do the trip 4 times in a day lol and im the youngest by the time they get back they are beat up and im well rested for the later ducks. Unless it pouring rain i stay put

    In my life, I’ve probably walked at least one mile per every mallard I’ve killed! But I don’t regret a single one!!!

    • @ChasingGreen
      @ChasingGreen  3 роки тому +2

      😂 unfortunately me as well. I dont regret it either. Makes it much more rewarding when it does go down.

      @@ChasingGreen it was a lot easier when I was 25 than it is at 45, but I will still do it if I think there’s even a sliver of a chance! I’m not quite so ambitious about deer, turkeys, squirrels, or rabbits anymore.......but I’d go to just about any legal length if it meant shooting a green head!!! Duck desire just don’t wash out of me as easy as other stuff does!!!

    • @ChasingGreen
      @ChasingGreen  3 роки тому +1

      Thats a fact. Im not near as apt to chase after the other stuff as i am a greenhead for sure. Like phil said, what a man will do for a duck lol
