I'm not trying to be an ass, but what do you like about Taxi Driver? I watched it and just didn't get the hype. It was still a good movie but I just didn't understand what made it so loved.
I love how unapologetically mainstream and blockbuster heavy Sean's list is. He's just talking about the movies he loves and enjoys without worrying about people calling him basic for not having any indie or less well known films. This is what cinema is all about, I'd much rather hear a guy lovingly talking about the movies he watches than some critic talking about depressing unknown dramas
@@CD-603 ya I see what you mean, all I'm saying is that it's refreshing to see someone who's not trying to hard to seem like a film experts by having a bunch of obscure films noone has ever seen
I can be a major film snob, but I'm actually fine with this guy's list. There are more Criterion blurays on my shelf than I can count, but I also love a well shot, well executed, entertaining big-budget extravaganza. And if that's what you like as an audience member, by all means, do you. Personally, my main problem with the list is that *Jaws* ended up being his deepest cut. This is a major problem, in my strong opinion, with too many UA-cam film channels: a (seemingly) relative lack of knowledge about- or regard for?- cinema history, I was talking to someone the other night about how I've noticed that *Jaws* seems to be a sort of cut-off point for too many film-UA-camrs. As if, beyond 1975, cinema is some kind of abstract, no-man's-land modern audiences can't identify with. And that's not remotely the case. When he picked *Jaws* early in the list I said to myself, "This will likely be as far back as he goes". I was just kind of bummed to see I was right. I'd love to send him a stack of 8 or 10 blurays, all pre-"Jaws", with a note saying simply: "Dude, enjoy". Because he probably would. He clearly loves cinema. I don't blame anyone for not being a film scholar. It's just too bad how many people- who otherwise love movies- may be unnecessarily cutting themselves off from literally decades of amazing cinema because of what they *think* it is. But anyway. That was my only real gripe.
Well I mean they are blockbusters for a reason. They wouldn’t be huge hits if they weren’t amazing. All of the films in my top 10 are blockbuster hits except for Godzilla: Final Wars and even that was a blockbuster hit in Japan.

Terminator 2: Judgement Day (a lot of action and an interesting plot, my type of movie) 3. Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (It was my favorite movie of all time until Infinity War came out) 2. Avengers Infinity War (it takes so many plots and ties them all together at the end for probably the biggest cliffhanger of all time, plus tons of action) 1. Avengers Endgame (the hype definitely paid off, it’s a sad story, a time travel story, and it’s the end of The Infinity Saga.) Honorable mentions: A new hope Return of the Jedi The Terminator The Avengers

*Excellent* list. I was just commenting elsewhere, it's unfortunate how many of the more "popular" film-UA-camrs don't seem to be all that literate about cinema, pre-"Jaws". *Or* if they are, they definitely don't talk about it much. One of the only films on your list I haven't seen is William Wyler's "The Children's Hour". A few months ago I found a ridiculously low-priced bluray of it on Amazon (produced by the BFI.) I've wanted to see it for a long time, so I blind-bought it. Can't believe I haven't watched it yet. Sometime soon. Another film you listed that I haven't seen (or even heard of) was *When Marnie Was There* so I wikipedia'd it. Looks like a pretty lovely film. I'll try to check it out soon as well.

Byron Parry yea, I watched a bunch of new movies and put them high up, I forgot about great movies like The Godfather part 2 as they slowly slid down. Love The Godfather part 2, something I will definitely fix.
Byron Parry thanks! I love the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the other two films have also slipped down the list but I’ve been careful to keep fellowship near the top!
I couldn't do a top 20 so here is my top 10 (not ranked): The Princess Bride Citizen Kane The Godfather The Dark Knight Inception Green Book Captain America: Civil War Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back Pulp Fiction Terminator 2
I think I’m the only person ever to exist that actually didn’t like citizen Kane. I can’t find anyone else that doesn’t like it. I don’t see all the hype around it. To me it was really boring and basic
Joker Whiplash The Shawshank Redemption Alien Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back Terminator 2: Judgement Day Gravity My Neighbor Totoro The Dark Knight Pulp Fiction The Shining Inception Saving Private Ryan The Dark Knight
Hands down Raid Shadow Legends the movie!! Just epic i love the way they choose the way death knights character development turned out . And the overall relatability and emotional connection you grow with the fighters through out battles, and sacrifices really shines throughout.

Guys I think we are all forgetting the master cinematography or the emoji movie here
I love how unapologetically mainstream and blockbuster heavy Sean's list is. He's just talking about the movies he loves and enjoys without worrying about people calling him basic for not having any indie or less well known films. This is what cinema is all about, I'd much rather hear a guy lovingly talking about the movies he watches than some critic talking about depressing unknown dramas
To be fair there are so many great indie films that don't get the time of day because of blockbusters and superhero films dominating which is a shame.
This is a major problem, in my strong opinion, with too many UA-cam film channels: a (seemingly) relative lack of knowledge about- or regard for?- cinema history,
I was talking to someone the other night about how I've noticed that *Jaws* seems to be a sort of cut-off point for too many film-UA-camrs.
Most favourite movies lists on the site are mainstream/blockbuster heavy.
Well I mean they are blockbusters for a reason. They wouldn’t be huge hits if they weren’t amazing. All of the films in my top 10 are blockbuster hits except for Godzilla: Final Wars and even that was a blockbuster hit in Japan.
One of my favorite movies is pirates of the Caribbean which people always forget about

There will always be people who are big film fans and would consider rear window one of the greats, however majority of audiences don't even know it exist or even care in the first place to watch Hitchcock films.
