Awesome Rig! I been wanting to get my foot in the door welding on pipe but so many things have come my way in life and now I'm home taking care of my children because my wife passed on and have nobody to get them on the bus etc. but I do have my own 2nd Gen Rig with a Pipeliner Bed.
Whats the details on the speakers in the headliner? I wanna see how that was done! If your a big second gen fan you’d drool over mine! ‘02 24v HO 6 speed manual, long bed club cab, only 100k miles on it. Just turned over a few weeks ago! Its mint inside and out. Cherry unicorn mint. I had a ‘92 first gen 12v cummins 5 speed getrag. Reg cab, i had a nice b&m flatbed w/ headache rack on it. It was a nice truck. I built it. Was a clean straight first gen with no rust. Trucks don’t rust in colorado heh. But i sold it to a guy when I was down in phx AZ. I had drove it down to phx from colorado and sold it down there in phx. But i sold it to a guy that was a pipe welder. I don’t recall exactly where he said he was going but it was somewhere up around the texas/ Oklahoma borders. In the oil feilds out there. He also got my 35” muds from my mega cab, so i know he lifted it, or just made ‘em fit in the front with a sawzall heh. I hope he didn’t cut the fenders, that truck was way to clean and straight to wack the fenders out for 35’s! I wish i could find that first gen again. I would know it if i saw it! Had a big ranch hand from a ford superduty on it that i cut and welded up to fit perfectly like it was ment for it. So i know i could pick it out for sure. How come dude with custom welding beds on their nice $100k trucks dont have the bed painted or bedlinered?? Everyone you see is just left to rust over. Like they spent all that time Making the bed look so custom and sweet. The neatest beds out there, but then they dont finish it? Just always wondered did they like get it put on the truck and then just didn’t want to take it back Off to have it bed liner sprayed again? Didnt have the time for the ‘down time’ while it was getting painted it bed liner sprayed? Id could understand that, but they spent all that time building it, finish or for Christ sake! Bedliner can be color matched to. It dont have to be black. Make sure its done right to, none of that cheap raptor crap. The stuff is bullet proof, and the cool thing is, when it gets nicked or gouged, you can just have it touched up or re sprayed! Theres the rattle cans of it you can buy for touch ups. I dunno i just always wondered why dudes always just left them bare metal. And on a brand new expensive like $100,000 brand new ford or whatever, theres a rusty old homemade flat bed on there.
Hate to say it but welding is why I subscribed way back glad to see you back at it and hopefully your glad to be back to it as well
