Nagraj - Indian superhero, not based on an American superhero. He had control over snakes, and his body was filled with venom.
Chacha Chaudhary - Indian comic hero - no superpower except that he is very intelligent. "Chacha" means paternal uncle in Hindi. "Chaudhary" is a family name.
Shaktimaan - is not based on Superman in this sketch specially. The actual superhero character himself is heavily based on Superman(though the makers do not openly acknowledge that :P), and they are referring to that in this sketch. It's kind of like a dig on Shaktimaan.
Seriously Jaby, if you need an Indian with you to help understand these videos, get someone who has actually lived and grown up in India. There were so many jokes in this video that you missed out, and by the looks of it Ravina did, too.(No offence to anyone)

Not every one is fan of American muscle cars, but they still are an American thing. And people who are interested in it will consider it important part of their identity. And implying that it has nothing to do with American-ness is outright stupid. Similar is with comics. Nagraj, Shaktiman, Chacha Chaudhary aur Sabu, Captain Vyom, Bikram Betal are Indian COMIC BOOK HEROES. They are an INDIAN product so it has very much an Indian identity.

actually that joker was a mix up of batman's joker and shaktiman's joker too and a little bit of mera naam joker.

Nice reaction video! and the characters you didn't know in the video were actually Comic books from 90's. Kids were crazy about them and they made TV shows made after them as well.
Also, in this video, Shaktiman is like Superman because they basically have the same supernatural abilities. Though, Shaktiman isn't from other planet; he got his powers through spiritual advancement and there was a very famous show by this name in the 90's and the video takes references from that show as well.

Shaktiman has powers of the 5 elements (Indian ones ;)) which is why he travels as a tornado (wind). It is true that his story line and some of his powers are similar to that of Superman. Shaktiman used to be a TV show which was pretty hit since it was the only child friendly and 'authentically' Indian show which kids could relate to. It was later released as comic books as well.
Nagraj belongs to Raj publication which is the major comics publishing houses of India. Nagraj translates to king of the snakes. Wierd as it may sound, He has millions of shape shifting snakes in his blood stream which he can call upon to act as his spies or to make a rope for him to swing (like Spiderman) apart from that he has powers of his own like ability to disintegrate into microscopic particles and re-integrate back to human form, ability to produce really toxic venom (compared to the regular snake venom) etc. A lot of mystical snakes living in his blood which he acquired as rewards from his teachers or other powerful mystical beings. They have very special powers of different kinds like freezing, super strength, special venoms etc. He is a skilled martial artist, and lives a regular life of a press reporter.
Chacha Chaudhary belongs to Pran Publications and was created by Pran (credited to have created the first comic book of India). Chacha (Uncle) Chaudhary's skill is that he is really intelligent and 'wise'. He has a protege called Sabu who is a giant alien from Jupiter. Chacha Chaudhary uses his Intelligence and Sabu's Super Strength to help people and to solve their everyday and not so regular problems.
There were other Indian Super Heroes as well in the video. The guy with the big golden V on his chest/belly is Captain Vyom (who might be a ripoff from the Star-Trek Franchise ala Captain Kirk) and the guy who's asked to get thanks is Super Commando Dhruv (Raj Publication action Hero) Dhruv is an orphan who was adopted by the commissioner of the fictional city of Mahanagar. He doesn't have any mystical or superhuman strength but is very skilled in martial arts and acrobatics. He fights the undercover Mafia of Mahanagar with his team. He reminds me of Robin from batman.

Jaby, it's almost impossible for any non-Indian to actually get all those jokes and references. Screenpatti has done a fantastic job in mashing up many of the "Indian" superhero/comic characters and cliches together in this ridiculously funny video. And not just that they've tried these funny cross-overs with American Superhero references.. Haha.. had a good time watching it!!

I m getting the vibes like Ravina knows these characters (atleast shaktiman & Choudary) and she is ashamed to admit it, as some Indians are. I dont know much about Chacha Choudary as I am from the south india, but I heard a bit about him when I was a kid.
Jaby , no one has issues with Ravina.. The problem is she was with u for DDLJ and Andaz Apna apna reaction, which are classics and should have been explained much better . Even in this video most of the things could have been explained better. Ravina is clueless about most things which make most indians nostalgic or emotional. She isn't the right choice to explain reactions to you. It instead makes the viewers dissatisfied. Hope u understand.

they are all character from manoj comics ;the old 90s comics publications in India; if I remember correctly accept for shaktiman and krish.

Sakitiman is a complete copy of Super Man. superman's weakness krypton light- saktiman weakness paap mani, super man can fly- saktiman can fly, super man has vision power saktiman also have. They both use specs to hide there face and both are reporter. superman's hair is strong enough to lift 4 quintal same case with saktiman too. That's why every time saktiman fly or do flash steps he revolve the same way so that character doesn't look like superman. even the name are same super man in hindi is saktimaan. What is different is Superman is alien from a very tough planet but saktimaan is a human who gain knowledge and power by studying 5 elements.
the other characters like dhruv, nagraj, are from 90's Raj comics.
Naag raj- means king of Cobra his power is just like bug ninjas but in his case he can store and nurture different kind of snakes inside his body.
Chacha Chaudhary- he is a comic character of diamond comics, he was a boxer and very intelligent. other member of his family are chachi (chacha's wife) a dog name rocket and a tall and strong guy name sabu, he is an alien from jupiter.
Captain vyom- he is a universal soldier and captain of his spaceship.

Nagraj - snake king. Was a comics character. Who controls all types of snakes. Snakes which can transform into human being. It is said that after 100 years of life snakes can transform in any form. Nagraj was a snake too with so many powers. I read lot of comics in childhood. Chacha chaudhri and sabu. Another two comic characters. Chacha chaudhri is kind of intellectual spy who solves problems. He does not have any powers other tha sharp brain. Sabu is a giant size man who assist chacha chaudhari. He is quite powerful physically.
Chacha Chaudhry's specialty is that he has a razor sharp mind. (In comics they quote it like this "Chacha Chaudhry's mind works faster than a computer". So he solves mysteries and helps people. He's basically the Indian Sherlock Holmes.
Hey Jaby! Here's the answer to most of your questions regarding this video.
Most of the characters you see here other than the obvious marvel/DC ones are Indian superheros.
Dhruv, Capt. Vyom, Nagraj and Shaktiman are some of them. Chacha Chowdhry on the other hand, is not a superhero, but a beloved children's comic character.
The whole Nagraj tripping on snakebite was a reference to the comics, where Nagraj's superpower makes him a shapeshifter with telepathic powers who contains snake venom in his blood which he uses to defeat his enemies.
Shaktiman on the other hand, is a direct Indian reincarnation of superman. His powers are very similar to that of superman and so is his background story (like Shaktiman too, is a news reporter etc). Hence the whole thatman v Shaktiman faceoff (like batman v superman)
Also the whole getting thandai thing was kinda like getting booze for the party which is what thatman was sent to buy and in the absence of that what-a-woman found the party "lame" and chose to leave instead.
