Land Rover TRAIL DAMAGE REPAIR!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 вер 2024
- The Land Rover, which experienced some pretty brutal trail damage the last time we were off roading in Moab, finally gets a little TLC! Chris has to get the 4x4 damage repaired quickly - because we're heading out for an overloading and camping trip to Moab & Colorado, and the Land Rover needs to be ready (especially if he doesn't want to get towed off the trail again by our Jeep Wrangler!).

Chris, where did you learn all your amazing mechanical and fabricating skills? A brunette beauty who can wrench! Good to see LandRover roving again. Getting rid of drawer system makes the cargo area much more versatile. Hard Working man! LiteBriteNationCampingSoon!
😂
Chris' knowledge and prowess as a vehicle mechanic is priceless. I can only dream to be as successful as he is. So glad you make these type of videos for the viewers to learn from. Thanks for sharing.
Wish I could spend a week working with Chris just to gain knowledge on diffs and transfer cases. Great video Chris.
Chris, keep supporting Brit vehicles. Gotta be a reliable specimen on the web for people to see. Lol. Seriously, it's an awesome build. Have a great camping trip.
Everyone needs a Chris! He knows so many things and is super funny. Love your work, Chris!
So glad you were able to get your own rig up and running again! 👍
Chris is amazing, Litebrite is so lucky to have him on the team.
Agreed
Chris the wizard is at it again. Very knowledgeable information. Happy Trails to all at LBN!
I’m shocked that Kevin didn’t know the thick vs. standard vs. thin gear thing, but I guess he doesn’t nerd out over the parts/mechanic type stuff. I actually deliberately went with 4.88 thick gears and 4.10 carrier in my truck hoping that a thick ring gear would be stronger. I also tend to nerd out over every part that I purchase.
Great work there Chris, enjoyed every minute, hope the camping trip turns out awesome!
Good to see you working on Feebs! Now you need to bring her down to Texas and attend one of our huge massive Land Rover Rallys. There's two per year put on by two different people. In the spring, it's called SCARR (south central area rover rally) usually held at Barnwell Mountain. The other is in the fall, called Hill Country Rover Rally, usually held at Hidden Falls Adventure park just outside of Austin. Would be nice to see ole Feebs in person at one of these rallys so all us Rover nerds can geek out on her.
It was really cool to see how other companies make their transfer cases and differentials really like the episode
Dude the amount of work makes me watch this over and over. Wifey thought it was your past co-host. lol. Keep it up 👍🏽
Awesome skills man!!! Very inspiring.
Land rovers are coming back!! Bought myself a 99 not long ago and I’m loving it. They’re not so bad really.
Not to mention the 3.3x low range they have too. I was quite surprised the first time I put mine in low at how much reduction they have
Good to see you got some help again. 👍🏼
Keven, most websites that sell the thick cut gears will say to use the 4.10 carrier. I just picked up an ARB and 5.38 gears for my YJ, one more step to a trail ready rig! Still need a ton of welding, 14" ORI struts and some wheels and tires but It should be ready for the trails come spring!
Thanks for showing the work on your Disco Chris, I love these cars.
Great Video Chris. BTW, I saw you guys in Colorado. I was coming off of Imogene as you were about to travel over the top of Imogene. I asked Kevin and Brittany how the new suspension on the Step child was doing. Great to see you on the trail. I spent a week in the area doing all the Badge Trails and more. Keep up what you're doing.
Sweet Rig Chris !! Love to see you working on your Rig. Looking forward to seeing this Camping Trip.
awesome..glad to see you got back together to give us more content!!!
It is so good to see Phoebe get some love! I love rigs like this so much! Honesty, I'd rather see rigs like this over a bunch of jeeps 🤣😅😜
Cool change of pace, the LandRover has so much personality!
Good see you working on your Disco .looking forward to seeing how it runs for you on your trip big smiles 😃
Chris content is FIRE!
Nice simple homemade 3rd member holder.
I wish I had half of Chris' knowledge and ability
Simply Thank you Chris.
I don't care who's first I just wanted to let them know That I love the videos. Keep them coming.
Chris you make fab work look to easy but always great to watch you build
Awesome stuff Chris. I’ve never seen inside a t case with a diff. Pretty cool.
Nice job love to see her back on the trail
You made all of that stuff look and sound so easy! I bet it was a ton of work but it didn’t seem like it haha
I'm glad to see your Disco back up and running again.
Halfway through that t-case removal he was thinking damn I wish this was an early 80s Toyota lol
Kevin, you Dew is starting to look like Cosmo Kramer from Seinfeld 😂
Chris' videos are the best! Just excellent!
Thanks for the discount code! It got me a nice discount on a set of method bead lock wheels.
My favorite part is watching you work Chris it's nice to see someone else do it 😂 I mean I love working on cars and being a mechanic but it does get old but you can't live without it 💯 and we're did beck go?
Great video Chris! Happy trails, hope y'all have an awesome camping trip!!😃
We will!
Excellent I've been waiting for this Episode.. 😉
I understand the Commitments to the Lite Brite brand 😉😉😉
BUT so Good to see Your Beast getting some love finally 😉
Love from The Land Down Under 😘 😘 😘
Chris, you da man! You got skills brotha! Love watching the videos showing your work.
Love it!!! Have a 2003 d2 same color! I know a guy who has a supercharger in the box for a p38a.
chris, why dont you put a reciver slot in the bottom of that table so your dif holder doesnt need to be clamped to the top of the table and gives you more bench space?
this is the 2nd and 3rd diff i have done like this. i will be doing that at some point, as i will be going to ford 9's in the future
Chris’s interest in working on a Range Rover simply amazes me. (Opinion: Owners of Range Rovers in current times, physically look like the type of folks that would rather replace, (starting at $234,000), the RR with the latest factory model).
Finally some Land Rover footage!!!!
FYI; I have a 4.30 Dana 60. The lockers go 4.10 and down or 4.56 and up. So I found out the the number stamped on the ring gear will determine which locker is correct. mine could have gone either way but also took the 4.10 and down. So you are correct but the easiest way is to give the stamped number on the ring gear to Northridge and they can order the correct one. Keep up the good work.
Can't wait to see Phebs back at it again!
Great Content 💯and Video a little fast but your knowledge and experience 👍👌 is amazing,
Was a diesel mechanic and I could not have the patience to
Explain everything to the T
Have a Great Day 👍
Thanx for Sharing your experience and knowledge 👍
Enjoy your Camping 🏕with the Team and Family
need more of this and the camping trip
Lots of overland/camping videos to come!
There is a company in Germany called ATOM 9 that makes chromoly lockers for the landrovers if you haven't seen them.I think they also make them in bigger spline count also.
How is it you get a good-looking helper , joking , glad you're getting it back together
Unfortunately if she's not introduced, folks will ask, ___ back?
Learned all about thick cut gears when I built my 1 tons for my JKU. It was definitely a learning experience. LoL
Awesome workmanship!
Chris making it look easy!
L/B. Could we see more references to the undercarriage suspension design of Chris Payne's Land Rover D2a please ? Thinking of dual shock absorber setup on the rear axle of an old school Rangie by using the axle anti-roll bar mounts and reverse mounted dampers too ! V.
You have a little helper in the shop !!!
Good morning guys !!!
I like these grease monkey videos as much as wheeling videos. I got respect for someone who knows his trade.
Good Luck on the trails .
So glad you finally got your ride back running again. You deserve to have fun more than anyone for all you do mister. Hope you have a fantastic time and it all works as intended. Give the Step Child a run for its money out there. Lmao
Looks fantastic!
Nice to see your GF working with you.👍
Plenty of clearance, Clarence! 😂
Glad bek'$ back 💪💨💨
Getting all up in phoebe..
Great video Chris!
Amazing as always! Both thumbs up!
Thank you! Cheers!
My first thought was, that was Bec in a body bag instead of a Shiftpod Tent bag.👻
Looks like you are needing at least 2 lifts!:)
Nice looking helper
Wonder how much flex that Defender will get after it's all fixed up. 🤔 Should at least give it some flex. Lol
I had to freaking call both Revolution and ARB to confirm fitment for thick cut gears when I ordered! Almost made the same mistake
I have some armor for you to try out on your Braptor. Your answer for the rear trailing arm mount...
Please do a full suspension build on the disco!!!
Thought you’d maybe out the stepchilds old axles in this bad boy!
It almost looks like you have 4 hands sometimes 😂
Thought I seen th Disco in front of JoAnn’s in Cedar today. Chris a seamstress now? 😂
Chris you should start your own channel!
Great work Chris. Why not helicoil the fudged up threads? Well this way was better content.
I knew that but I do my own work on my shit bucket so my learning curve is acceleration beyond a shop built rig .
Is it me or the past couple of videos have a lower audio volume
i live by timkens just south of the harrison shop
I didn't know Kevin had a toupee.
What exactly broke on the stepchild elocker?? I'd like to see what broke since myself and lots of others are running elockers with no issues
We cover it in an upcoming video (uninstall and disassemble the broken locker to show it all)
Lol you Rock Chris👍
Good one,
Chris it is so nice to see a Sweet lady that can Hang with you getting grease on your hands. Chris does your lady friend know more about Vehicle then Kevin? Hehehehehehe
Chris let me ask you a question..... I have a 2015 KJ stock I have a misfire on cylinder#2 I have replaced coil pack injector spark plugs $100.00 for the set I cannot get rid of the misfire on #2 cylinder Also it does not burn oil. Do you have any suggestions? I can feal it misfire on idle but when not on idle it is smooth. Thanks in advance oh also my mechanic wants to replace the throttle body on the Jeep?????
Really didn't want to bring this question up, but I know from the video's you have a new girlfriend but I was more interested in the last ones Jeep bulid lol.... what happened to the bulid? No other explanation is necessary! Keep up the awesome work Cris you ate very talented faber. Kevin and Brittany don't suck either lol. Everyone had a spot in life 😊
Your mic was very low but the video was awesome!
I dont know that the thick cut gear is actually stronger, the teeth engagement is still the same, may just add more weight? They made them for guys that had the numerically lower carriers because one day they changed their minds and decided they wanted to gear it deeper but didnt want to have to buy a new carrier to do so......thick cut was just a fix for budget friendly builds 😎
Can you work on my Hummer H3 😁 nice job on diffs and case.... good job on the video of production.. I need a female helper also
Is that a Landover version of quadratrax?
What the fuck that’s crazy haha I’m this the first video I ever watched and I love it haha keep up the great work man
Chris. Introduce your new helper.
What wheels are you running?
northridge is a complete joke shipped us two same length jku axles and when we called for them to make it right they made it out to be our fault they sent two same length axles. Finally after a week they sent me a replacement not put together so here we are waiting on the install kit.
How does the Ashcroft atb compare to a Detroit trutrac?
