I'm a professional drag queen and have been looking for little ways to make my performances better. I know i fake sing but the emotion and nuance is all there. Thanks for the great tips.
@@jordana4936it’s a performing art, whether you like it or not. And if someone makes a living doing shows, why can’t they call themselves professionals? Just be a little open minded, thanks.

Excuse me Miss... you’re tips are phenomenal! 🙌🏾 thank u so much for ur help. I’m a singer and have been performing live for about a year now, but I am extremely shy and still struggle with my confidence on stage. But you reminded me that I just have to relax and own it! 💯
This may be kinda crazy to read. But I'm 6'5 , I love singing and dancing & I play guitar. I've studied Artist like Chris brown , Micheal Jackson, James brown , Prince , Beyonce etc. They're stage presence is unmatched. My thing is "Who wants to see a 6'5 ,200+ pound man dance & sing to r&b". Yea I know that sounds crazy but that's how I feel.
Satril X then use exactly that as what you do best. The guys you mentioned are all either small in stature or weight and that makes it easier to dance. You dont have to do flips to have stage presence, just use your tall nature to instill a strong presence to show the audience that you’re there. Thats what makes you different.
It's not really fair to compare yourself to them. There's only one you. Instead, channel their vibe and make it your own. It doesn't matter what you look like or what size you are. If you're confident and you're enjoying yourself, that's what counts. Who know's? You could create your own style and that's what you become known for. Just do you! Set yourself free.
Satril X you literally explained me but just a couple inches taller! 200+ lb, 6’3 guy who loves singing and dancing, and studied Chris Brown, MJ, James Brown, prince, Beyoncé etc. my mind is blown rn lol I don’t play guitar tho I really want to start

Ahhhhh this helped a ton! I just started singing on the worship team and ugh the anxiety and low self confidence I have defeats me and i just wanna feel loose and not worry. 07/15/20 edit: it's been a year since i commented and let me tell y'all!!! Singing is like second nature now! I still have some groeing to do on stags ofc but i am no longer anxious!
Im actually here today because this sunday im one of the lead singers on my worship team and last time i went up i had a panic attack so im here to learn from this video and others! 🖤🖤
It's amazing not only cause the tips are good (I was taught them all before) but also because she describes very well how we actually feel and shows that it's ok but there are ways to go through it.😊
Thanks for this wonderful video! I'll be showing this at our youth music group tonight at church. Almost all of your advice applies in the church too! Even playing/singing for God requires a visual presence.
I have been singing since I was 6 (on stages) and I gotta say, some of the tips you gave are tips my Dad gave me way back when I started and they are so true. But even though I've been at it so long I still get shy and struggle sometimes with performance anxiety. It's not really that uncommon for anyone whose performing to get that anxiety. But these tips are gold. So to any newbies,I definitely suggest listening to this lady and her tips.
I don’t sing in the band but I do karaoke and I love it. I’ve been doing it for several years and I always try to get the audience involved. I try to always learn my lyrics and get physical on stage. I try to put my heart into it on every song and the audience loves it 😊
You did a GREAT job of explaining the WHY for your first tip. SO important to be able to be objective about yourself. And not just on stage, but for life. That's the only way to grow.
Seeing a lot of people in the comments with the same problem as me, is extremely cool. Good luck for everyone ❤ i love your videos, kisses from brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
You're a delight to watch! You have such an infectious energy and attitude! I'm not a singer, but as a guitarist in a gigging band, you've still given some very good advice on how to just be a good performer outside of singing!
Great tips! I‘m super nervous to stand on the stage with a professional Band in 2 Weeks (last time was 5 years ago in school and just for fun) Just watching this made me so confident! Thank you soo much!!
I'm doing The Voice auditions in less than 2 weeks.. this helps a lot. I will say, I don't really know what to do if it's for an acapella. There's no music, just me singing... idk the song just yet. Either Piano Man or... something.
These are incredible tips. I have had a terror of singing live. I had thrown myself into musical theatre as my voice felt average. Recently , I have had some significant breakthroughs after years of training. One thing that has never left me, however, is this fear of performing live. Thankfully, there are apps like Smule available where one may slowly grow more confident. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still terrifying, 😂 but at least I can showcase my talent and it reaches an audience. Baby steps, right? Thank you so much for this excellent video. It will greatly help with some performance struggles I’ve had.
I'am here because I love singing I dreamed of performing on stage when I was a kid.But I just enjoyed singing on karaoke but never before a big crowd. For countless times, people would ask/request mo to sing for special celebrations but I could feel that there is still something lacking and upon watching this video, I realized all the things that I should improve
I’ve only played a couple of shows and I wasn’t confident for 2 of my shows but now I just get adrenaline rush and I just get into the music and I’m fine 😂
I cant tell you how much I appreciate this. I LOVE YOU YOUR ATTITUDE AND EVERYTHING AGHHHH. I have my first performance tomorrow and I'm so scared this is a huge help.
Thank you for the tips. I'm here because i have the voice but not a good stage presence which ruins everything. I am not confident on the stage, worse when there are judges. There was 1 time i got so nervous i couldn't even sing well coz i was trembling inside. I've joined 2 singing competitions, but didn't win. People who didn't really sing well could also score higher than me because they were confident. I want that too.😭
That is so true about that microphone and the stand. I had a problem where my mic would make a noise if I took it off the stand. So, I rarely touch the mic. But sometimes I would and I would get a reminder. These are some great tips even as a reminder for experience singers. Thank you You have a nice blouse that goes well with your finger nail polish.
Great, and from such a beautiful woman! Gave me needed support for my development of a busking rig, wireless guitar and wireless mic on a coathanger holder around my neck which leaves the face visible. I did this to smile and dance! Becoming bilingual in Spanish revealed high levels of repression the USA, due to WASP "Pilgrims" outlawing song and dance. Lucky that, after exterminating 60 Million brown skinned original inhabitants, they imported dark skinned people who still remembered song and dance. I hope every performing musician watches your great video!

Thankyou for the great video! I had a really long break (about 10 years now) since my last performance and need to get back into it again, and you reminded me of all the important things to think about when you're on stage and already took a big part of that stage fright away that's been building up in my head. :) Thanks again, and greetings from Berlin! 🙏🏻
