- Want to breathe more life into your singing voice, speaking voice, physicality, and on-stage presence while being more focused and alert?
This simple acting technique - BRIGHT, CURIOUS EYES - is another useful addition to any actor's "toolbox". It is as much as state of mind as it is physical, and it benefits both the actor and the audience.
Some actors discover this tip intuitively, but we break down the physicality and psychology behind it so we can apply it with intention.
"I see you but im not stalking.. don't say that to someone in public" 😂👍
Glad you found it amusing!
I wish you would make a whole series on this subject! Right now I am thinking of a friend of mine who is a performer. I feel like she has a lot of stage presence and I would say she always seems like she''s off in another world. It's like her eyes are almost opaque but it's mezmerizing. A lot of performers I think are interesting can seem like they are off somewhere and I would be curious to hear what you think of this. I for one also could use a whole lot of improvement in this area.
I appreciate your enthusiasm, and yes, the eyes are a crucial part of a performer's craft. Yes, I will be doing more videos about stagecraft. I cannot say whether they will exclusively focus on eyes, but if you found this idea intriguing, look up my STAGECRAFT playlist - you might find my Three Point Technique (directing eyes and attention in specific places) and Judy Technique (coordinating gesture and dialogue) useful for boosting stage presence.
Crazy how you don't have more subscribers yet. Awesome tip and production!
Thanks for your kind comments. I appreciate you being here.
As a singer for a bonjovi tribute band here in England called fromjoviuk, i really appreciate all of your advice, i do get very nervous before i sing.
The funny thing about looking confident on stage is that it is not about how we feel, but how we appear to the audience. I don't like the phrase, "Fake it 'till you make it!", as it suggests insincerity, but there is an element of truth to it. Strategies like this make us appear more confident, so the audience treats us like we're confident, and in turn, we feel more confident.
Glad you found this one useful. Go out there in a Blaze Of Glory!
@@ScottCameronInsideMusicals cheers buddy, thankyou for replying 👍.
Great tips, and thank you for an in-depth explanation of bright curious eyes. Makes alot of practical sense now.
Thanks Hannah. I can't wait to hear how it works for you.
Phenomenal, clear explanations here! Love this ✨
Thanks Robin for your support. This idea is only the tip of the iceberg of course, but I hope it help people make clearer choices to give the performance they want.
The information in the video is purely golden. Thanks to the algorithms for recommending me this
Thank you. Glad you found it useful. Every actor builds an arsenal of skills - I hope this is one you can add to your "toolbox".
This is excellent.. advice.. I'm shocked that it hasn't a million views.. as a performer I'm very thankful for this man is pro !
I am glad you found it useful. Thanks for sharing your enthusiastic response.
Your stop motion was great. Much smoother than my first attempt.
Thank you Hannah. This small attempt at stop motion gives me great appreciation for the patience and artistry of those people who make full-length movies. My little wooden man looks like he's shivering in this video, but I hope my next attempt is smoother
Another great video!!!
Thanks Eden. I appreciate your ongoing support.
