    Great profile! Running almost the same currently too. You’re right on about the toad-beaver follow up for a grind. Also my luck was like yours with 2 boxes. Other friends made out great I got a rock

      @@__senjutsu me personally agree it should be a 3 off just because of how strong swap frog engine is. To remove pure light from extra deck, recycling shifter is good and all but shifter is not enough to beat most meta decks especially if the opponent is a better player than you

    • @__senjutsu
      @__senjutsu 2 місяці тому +1

      @donnelleraeburn9207 never ran shifter, but I do run Arc Light. I find shifter to be a weird crutch for the deck and doesn't help the grind game that's already a disaster for us. I might throw in some Droplets to help rationalize it better for myself but I like the fact that it can be done without too much harm.

    Very nice list! I was trying to play both the frogs and the melffy stuff but I think you're right about cutting the melffys if your on the frogs, its a bit too much 😅
    I love how many discards for angler there are, will test you're list at locals for sure- could've used a super poly last night when i was getting comboed on against raidraptor 😌

      I'll be testing out the Melffy cards, because it's really just a question of how many going 1st cards you want to run. Could easily swap the Super Poly cards for the package, but I also want a card that's good going 1st and 2nd. I'll lyk after I test :)
      Im sure you're aware that Oceanics is on next week, so sadly, there won't be local featured matches for a bit bc people will b gone. I'll try and get some DB footage though!

    What Is It the Side pattern for Shifter? What you deside? Angler, Frog, droplet, icr barrier. Seem a lot of card that need GY

    • @Moneybagyo131
      @Moneybagyo131 2 місяці тому

      That’s why I don’t side shifter anymore In this deck.

    • @theorangegriffin7531
      @theorangegriffin7531  2 місяці тому +4

      Typically, I'd side out the 2 Ice Barrier cards and a Smashers.
      If Im siding Shifter in, it has to strictly just beat either the opponent's entire deck, or a good chunk of their engine at the very least. What I mean by this, is that against a deck like Kash Snake-Eye, it feels a bit weird to use if they open their Kash cards, because their end board is still annoying to deal with. Droplet can still be useful, and you can decide whether Shifter is good enough to use, or not. If it isn't, you can just save it for Droplet/Super Poly fodder.
      Frog can still SS itself if you discard, but you probably don't want to use the dump effect. Not having angler/Sprind does suck, but it's just a tradeoff you have to make. Shifter is also going to be used a little less now (less meta decks that die to it), but I still want to keep it in for SE/FK, Purrely, Branded or idk, any Horus deck.

    What are ur thoughts on crossout? Being a deck with soo much room for non engine and a format with a lot of handtraps, I feel like it’s a sweet addition, it’s also cool to play a dark ruler and call dark ruler lmao

    • @theorangegriffin7531
      @theorangegriffin7531  Місяць тому

      @@joseprojo975 I think it's generally a bad idea to put in crossout targets for cards that can break our board. Not only do we have to guess whether or not they're going to play the card (unless you've seen it G1/2, or you know the person), but you also have to:
      1. Draw Crossout
      2. Not draw your Crossout target
      3. Your opponent has to draw the target
      4. Make a board good enough to DRNM
      If you're using it for handtraps, it can be ok, but Spright is notoriously good at playing through 1-2 handtraps depending on the hand. I'd rather just put in other hand traps or board breakers to fill the slots. I'd also only run it if it did more than hit board breakers/hand traps (e.g. if I played SE, and it was a heavy SE meta)

    the only thing i find anoyying about swap frog is when you have both beaver and swap in hand the swap is just gonna be a follow up card for the most part unless you want to pitch it with beaver or if you have an angler that would be insane.

    • @theorangegriffin7531
      @theorangegriffin7531  2 місяці тому +2

      Tbh could even consider holding the Beaver for next turn if you open other Sprights. Situational though. Still not a big deal, kinda like drawing a Melffy in the previous builds.

    Playing with such a board break approach wouldn't be better have prosperity (it is much better using prosperity to search BBs) and/or adventure engine, even with higher card count, like 45-50 or even 60?

    What's keeping you from going all in on handtraps?

    • @theorangegriffin7531
      @theorangegriffin7531  2 місяці тому

      I quite like board breakers that are generally always useful. Droplet to me has always felt nice, especially when paired with Talents, Starter, Angler, etc. It also feels necessary to counter some of the going 1st lock decks (Centurion, Sanctifire), because sometimes a hand trap or two just doesn't do the job. The final reason is that some of them clash with Shifter when I want to side Shifter in, so I have to side more cards in to replace them (Veiler, Ogre, etc).

      Quite nice! I like having answers to decks that lock you but require niche answers (Sanctifire/Centurions). Fenrir provides you with more hand resources to discard, and Droplet can send other spells/cards in the same chain link to not neg as hard. Discarding Angler also feels very nice. I can see an argument against Super Poly though.

    Ive never understood why you play 3 swap frog. Cant you just play 1 and summon it of gigantic, the only reason i could think of, is so you can normal swamp and have toad as 3rd summon.
