[84] Asus Transformer (T100TA) - Motherboard replacement

The keyboard docking port malfunctioned on this Asus Transformer, so we replaced the motherboard and transferred the customer's data.

HI, great video with good clear images, I have damaged the black,hold down strip which holds the hinge on both the power FPC cable and the digitize. ( in the video, it's at 13.03 showing MB TOP and 11.55, MB TOP, Do you know how many pins these connectors have in order to purchase

can you connect the keyboard to the tablet using one of the USB ports available ? I would have tried that first , instead of replacing the motherboard if the docking port was faulty

In this case, the customer wanted it to work as intended from the factory, so I replaced the board. You could use it as a tablet or use a USB keyboard, if needed.

Would it be possible to replace that cpu thermal pad with a thermal paste and some copper plates to bridge the gap better?

Yes, probably. I do think CPU throttling would make this PC pretty slow if you tried to do much with it.

@@ComputerHelpNI not that it can do much anyways lol, maybe I'll buy some 0.8mm. Since I had 1.2mm and they didn't work on the RAM. I'm afraid to put too much pressure on the CPU and crack it lol.

No, I didn't see anywhere you could add RAM.

windows 10 installs but only 32 bit, even though it has 64 bit processor,,,,,, go figure ?????
