Hello Bearded FishBilly and welcome aboard! Keep planning and dreaming of the loop and one day it will happen. We boated on small boats with our kids for years and eventually we were able to start the loop. There are even families with young children doing the loop this year! Hello this is a fantastic video. I live in Fenelon Falls and work in Orillia so I quite enjoyed the perspective from the boat instead of the car. I have been on some of these waters but not all of them - you are very fortunate to be able to live on your boat and travel around the country in this manner. Hi Bryan, thanks for your comment. Our airdraft is 16'-9" with the radar, but if we lower the radar, the airdraft is 15'-9".

I enjoy your videos very much. What was the depth in those areas where you showed the rocks? My draft is 5ft with a 17 1/2 ft beam. I’m just wondering if I’d fit in some of those areas.
As far as the change in the marker sides, I’ve seen a gadget that really helps in that area. It’s a board with two green markers side by side. On top is a smaller section with a green marker on it. In one position it shows Red on right and Green on left. Slide the top piece over and now Red is left and green is right. Really helps keep track of the changes in marker bouts. Just one less thing to remember.
Hi Roger, thanks for your kind comment. The depth in those areas is at least 12 feet. The water is so clear that you can see the colour of the rock. There are many boats larger than ours and with a larger draft that navigate these waters, so you should be fine. I’ve seen those marker reminder boards.. great idea! For more information about boat requirements you can search “Great Loop boat requirements”. Also check out the website AGLCA.org (for draft, and bridge height restrictions). There are several catamarans doing the loop which are equal to, or wider than 17 feet. Hope this helps!
