How to Catch MORE Catfish During the Dreaded SPAWN

The beginning of summer marks the most difficult time to be a catfish angler. Catfish begin spawn when the water temps rise into the 70 degree range and boy can they be finicky during this time. Controlled drifting main channel ledges with the freshest bait possible is one of the best ways to pick up some fish during the summer doldrums. Fish good structure at the right time and you too will catch some nice fish, even if the odds are stacked against you.

Trot lines plain need to go. If you’re using them you ARE ridiculous. Catfish should be considered gamefish and get protected like Bass and trout.
