I'm not sure the purpose of cutting off the second vine, is it for less but bigger fruit, for more but smaller fruits, or plants health ??? 🤔 I want the one that will give me more food.😊🎉❤
My guess is the same reas9ns it is recommended to put a fan on your plants when growing your seedlings, to make & keep the stems strong, and another here 8s to help move out the hot air. He said it was over 90° in that frame
Its been soooo hard to find info on pumpkin anatomy. Why do you push so hard for opposing leaves? Do you run high nitrogen early or balanced or what fertilizer schedule are you on? Awesome stuff thank you
The natural anatomy of a plant is to grow leaves and vines on both sides it creates air flow and with them alternating it allows enough room for each least to get sun light without block the others. As far as fertilizer everyone does something a little different. You must start with good amended soil. After that a ballance fertilizer to start, leaning slightly towards nitrogen. Then switch to a flower and bloom at fruit set and finish wit a ballance fertilizer slightly heavier in potassium. Good luck
@growinggiantswithscott Will high temperatures cause the flowers not to make/have plants of pollen? I am new to growing pumpkins and squash, and have had a lot of problems with them. But they did do better when planted from my own saved seeds.
Something in extreme cases flowers may have development issues with temperature but more often low pollen or deformed flowers are a sign of nutrient deficiency or imbalance.
I have a few plants that are not growing in vine length, they are about the size of these here. They are growing all the normal leaves, just all bunched together unfortunately. Is there a way to fix it?
@@growinggiantswithscott watching a lot more of your videos have helped me describe this more. The node to node length is very short. Like 1" or less, then it keeps making another leaf
Thank you for explaining this! I wouldn't have noticed anything being wrong. I need to go check my plant now, lol.
Your welcome!
Thanks for explaining everything and going into great detail. Very helpful great video
No problem Cody, thanks for watching. Hope it helps
Looks like the healthy one had a vine cut off already?
Thank you sooooo much for this info!🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thanks for watching, follow and subscribe for more
Hi, I just found your site.
Awesome video.
Can I ask, where did you get the solar powered fan from?
Thankyou
I actually made that one from a battery operated fan and an old solar panel for running a small pond fountain
@@growinggiantswithscott awesome. Thankyou

Do you have a video on mak8ng the fan?
@hands2hearts-seeds2feedamu83 no you just need a small solar panel that hooks up to the DC terminals where the batteries would normally go in the fan
Thanks or the video. What are the genetics of that double-vined plant?
Its my 2376, but I have 3 other 2376 plants with no issue. Could be due to cool spring weather especially at night

what's all the little green things? did you plant a cover crop inside of your hoop houses?
Best cover crop is the one you don't need to plant, means soil is healthy
Didn’t catch what you put on the wounds?
Captan powder, its a fungicide
What is the purpose of the fan ? thanks for the information ,on my way to check on my plants
Keep air movement and help to push plant over in the direction I want it to grow in
My pumpkin male flowers are showing a lack of pollen or non at all ….. WHY 😭
Sorry to hear that, could be from a deficiency of nutrients or the plant could be sterile.

Hard to tell without seeing them, but usually, calcium nitrate and lots of water helps them to grow out of it
