@@MrVukojeB You totally missed the point. Just like the smartphone made by China. They claim that they developed the technology while the core is actually based on western technology. Chinese tech firm is responsible for the applications of those technologies. Not developing them.
How about in Antarctic waters? And a safety cable is still an idea. Are you sending a team of these, that come with a tow line in each, like part of a built in rescue/med kit?
@Dori Tos this is only the beginning, more like a test and it works really well, the technology used is novel and has never worked at deep sea levels before.
Each step we take towards God's creation, people 'oooh' and 'aahh' over the technological advances. Like this fancy soft robot in 2021 While the ant, the moth, the bird, the cat, the fish or the human body is all around us brimming with advanced and genius design our whole lives
This seems to be one of the best technologies for future robot expeditions to the very deep oceans of moons like Europa and Enceladus.
Mom: "Come on hunny, smile for the camera".
Me: 1:57
1:50 that is super cool.
Looks like prey for the deep sea dudes
Hey, so long as you can get the data back, right?
It's a Flying Toaster in a 1990's screensaver! Great work :)
Next step? Longer duration and improved cameras? I'll be very interested.
I have a soft spot for soft robots 😍
It would be fair to say it's Chinese technology.
nope it's not
yeah, it is
@@raythink see at 4:19 "robot footage", and than explore a while. You'll see. :)

If it's published on Nature I'm pretty sure it's a novel technology. It's one of the most prestigious scientific journals in the world.
Where was this tested? Where can you find this paper?
At that size is it at risk of predators attempting to eat it?
Sorry, what is size? My birth language is not english and I don't understand that but I'd like to know that. Can you help? Thank you!
@@josecortez1268 By its size, he means how big or small the soft robot is! Also, your grammar is really good lol
@@josecortez1268 size es tamaño
@@vishank7, thank's!
@@unknowntosociety01, em português "tamanho". Gracias!
Any bets on how long it's going to take for that thing to get eaten?
Very very long considering vertebrates can't survive on the very bottom, it's bacteria and amphipods mostly.
This may be good for high pressure planets like Venus as well
How about in Antarctic waters?

Breathtaking!
Well this is my favourite one of 21st century.
Do they glow in the dark or is the color for our benefit?
I read 'deep-ass soft robots' at first glance.
Thanks guys
Really fascinating
are they biodegradable?
Who cares
why dafuq, is youtube posting interlaced videos.....?!
Nature is beautiful. Be happy about it.
Do as the Romans do. Robots behave like real deep sea creatures! High in the sky is one thing, deep under water is another! Never boring.
Mining companies will exploit this technology.
Chinese technology.

Looks edible!
Cameraman: Am I a joke to you??
The narrator sounds awfully familiar...
Why not make an enormous one to fit in HD cameras, batteries that can last for weeks and other sensors? Why so small?
This is just the beginning, just wait a few years, maybe it'll be able to do that but at an even smaller size
I wonder where we can go with the technology... !
We can go to Earth
Even science cannot escape geopolitical prejudice! Just say it; ''the little blighter is designed by Chinese Scientist''. Wasn't so hard was it?
👍👍👍👍👍
Aww! 💕
so the abyss movie creature will be real..
Is that Thoughty2 narrating this vid? Sounds just like him
Absolutely!
Just a random brit
I thought so too!!
Hi
Omfg brilliant
Just make a robot out of legos. EZ
Yes, legos are water proof, nothing shall make the mistake of attempting to eat it twice and it would be cool
