Korg 03R/W Sound Possibilities Part 1 [2019]

- Here are a wide range of sounds from the Korg 03R/W that are not included with the default bank, to help give a better idea of its sound possibilities. This was recorded dry, all sounds are directly from the dual stereo outputs from the 03R/W and directly to sound card. No other synthesizers or effects were used.
Just imagine those sounds with the effects engaged :) It's basically the A3 & A2 inside
Thnx! Cool ambient demo
we are waiting for Part 2!!!!
love it, great.
@Ales Shishlo @Dr Glied I got these from Midi Quest 12 software, they have a patch bank browser with sounds for most synthesizers, new and old.
Wish Korg would release a VST version of these
Tolle Demo! Wann kommt "part 2"?
Nice patches! Love my 03rw today! Do you know where I can find patches for dl?
Maybe, by any chance, you can share these patches?
that sounds really nice! do you think I could get similar results with a M3R?
I had the Korg X3. Is there a difference between Korg X3R rack and 03R/W rack? :)
Would u mind sharing these patches?
4:22 DreamWorld, Scooter - This Is A Monstertune starts from this patch.
Is this all from stock waveforms? No external cards?
I had one of these and the back wheel fell off
are these sounds from an expansion card? Or what do you mean by 'not included in the default bank'. Thanks!
These sounds are from the MIDIQuest sound manager software. They are all created with the standard waveforms included in the 03RW ✌️
@@vocoded5290 cheers for the info! Did you load them onto a rom card then? Are they all patches you made? kudos if so, sounding great!
@@OceanTemple thanks! I think I made a couple of the patches, but the majority of them I downloaded from the midi quest software, which has a patch browser where you can look through sounds of most 80s and 90s synthesizers. I got sounds there for my JV 1080, Wavestation A/D, and TG-77 also ✌️
@@vocoded5290 awesome, thanks. I just got hold of a 03R and the cards seem near impossible to find so am looking for lush pad presets! I'll check out midi quest then :) What are you using to connect your Korg to your computer?
@@OceanTemple midi quest connect to synths with midi and using sysex, it also gives you an interface to program your synths with the computer
Thanks for the video, what would be the equivalent keyboard for this module??? Since there is (M1 r = M1) and (01R =Korg 01W) etc etc
These are 01w sounds on the 03 RW ✌️
Good question! I aquired this back in 1996 as a module version of my 01/Wfd as the 01R/W were not imported, but the 03R/W were many. However, they are not compatible by data. I'd say the 03R/W comes in between the 01/W series and the X2 /X3 keyboard workstations
Sounds like a korg O5rw.great.
Yes but with slightly better audio quality. It is more close to a 01/w.
nada que ver al 05R/W este tiene los sonidos del 01/W y el 05R/W es como un KORG X3
Does this one includes sounds from Korg 01\W ? Beautyful pads for example.
Yes all the "O" series korg sounds are similar. :)
@@vocoded5290 There are similarities...but the waveform ROM is not excactly the same. The 01/W has 48 Mbit which equals 6 MB, while the 03R/W has 40 Mbit...with 5 ROM-Chips of 8 Mbit each (you can check the service manual or the original brochure if you like). The 03R/W was General Midi compatible right from the start...and therefore had different "priorities" in his ROM to match that standard. But some of the internal waveforms are the same. And I'm pretty sure that the waveforms on the optional wave card sets are similiar for both machines. In addition the 01/w has a feature called wave shaping synthesis which is not included in the 03R/W.
@@sauermusicDE Wave Shaping was the only bit of the 01 engine left out of the following mid and low-end "0" synths Korg released. As far as the PCM sample set, it's roughly 90%+ identical, from a comparison I did years ago of the 01, the X-series, and the various racks versions
I notice that lots of patches are exactly the ones on my little 1/2 rack 05R/w.
So, if You can't find the one of this video, look for the little brother.
All the "0" series synths share the same basic Ai2 synth engine and PCM sample set made famous by the 01W so... Korg really went crazy back in the day with that engine, think it was used in ~12 different synths
@@looneyburgmusic
Yep! And for a 64 notes polyphony also suggest the X serie. Same sounds, more flexibility!
@@littlebritain64 The X5DR module is probably the one to get, as far as bang-for-buck. I paid just under $200 for mine, versus the several hundreds that the keyboard versions might cost. And it has what looks to be nearly all the 01 PCM sample set, I was able to convert nearly every 01W patch I use to the 'DR with zero problems.
@@looneyburgmusic
Of course, I decideded years ago to buy the X5DR as well! Fully satisfied and even better option if You have to upload the freeware good old Frank Carvalho Hammond set, 64 poly voices is a must!😊
Only, I don't remember if the keyboard has a sequencer or an arpeggiator....🤔
@@vocoded5290 Please, make a tutorial how to load sounds from midi quest :)
Mam wrażenie, że jest to instrument do muzyki filmowej. Ha ha ,No i GM.
Everything is clipping 😮💨
