Great video! There is one scenario you could include that is commonly overlooked. Using dice from first assault to equal the defense of an enemy unit that exceeds 5.
i .e. If a Enemy only has 1 health left at a defense of 7, and you roll a 4, 2, 3, 1. Then you can sacrifice 3 die on your first assault to bring that 4 to a seven!
Rules:
2.B.3
“Among the remaining dice, the attacker can discard as many dice as they want to get bonuses for the other dice. Each discarded die adds +1 to the result of another die. The new value of the remaining dice is equal to their result increased by the number of dice discarded to give them bonuses.
At each step, as soon as the value of a die equals or exceeds the effective defence of the target, the die is immediately placed on the attacker’s dashboard or troop card to signify that they have inflicted a wound on the target.”

Very informative video - played the game a couple of times and I think, I always forgot, that I can use the left-over dice from the first assault in the second. Also, the comment of @cfosburg is very eye opening to me. I honestly always thought, you can only increase the result in the first assault to 5. But after studying the rules open minded, there is no rule for that!

The thing I learned that I missed, is that the dice rolled in the second assault (that are not blank) can also be used as a +1 die. I had always played that the +1 dice had to be leftovers from the first assault only. So in your example at 5:57, the two 2s and a 1, I would have treated as misses and not used the 1 & 2 to bump up the other 2 to a 4 and a third hit. I am not sure how I got that rule messed up in my head, so thank you and I hope this made sense.
I think it was like that in very early playthroughs. I played the same myself when MBP 1.0 fulfilled.

It actually has always been that way, it’s just an easy to overlook rule 😜.
So I looked and you are correct that the original rules seem to also be written this way. I assume it was a video play through, one of the early ones that got it stuck in my head this way. Thanks.

@@foyble as funny as this may sound, I had the original ks, got the 1.5 upgrade and all the expansions. Waiting to get ragnarok with the expansions I missed on the first KS. I yet to play one game!!! To many games!

Pantheon is my wife's favorite game but I have to re-explain the dice every time. This gave me terms to better explain it. Thanks. Hopefully Ragnarok comes soon for me.
