One of the best short films I have ever seen. My explanation of the ending: His wife left him for Varun along with their son. He is shown checking his car twice on wet road & both times the car does not slip. He imagines a scenario in his mind that the car slipped on wet road and his wife & son both died. The police scenario is imagined in his mind because later he looks from his balcony & there is no police car waiting. Moral of the story: friction in relationships can cause unimaginable loss & sorrow.
Sanjay Kapoor is dynamic actor and still underrated..He deserves a lot of success....He is versatile actor and grounded human being ....Give support to him he really deserves ....
From a very light mood, look and feel to an intense yet subtle tension brewing between the husband n wife, the director brings out the friction and builds the anticipation, which leaves one on the edge of their seats. Brilliantly done! 👏🏻
Kudos to the director for such a fantastic story. Family as they say is everything. Sanjay Kapoor used to be my fav once upon a time but those days he used to only get chocolate hero roles. Now to see him doing so many amazing stories makes me happy. Shweta kawatra is a bundle of talent.
End chahe aap jo bhi imagine kar len...sabaq ye milti hai k family har haal me bohat important hoti hai....usse bachane k liye ego khatam karna hota hai...jisse pyar karte hain usse dil khol kar boldo!
Multiple endings can be imagined. My version- He has already lost his family members and has recreated the scenario in his mind one night after heavy drinking. He even takes car out and brakes in water slippery roadroads to check if the car could stop or not. His mind is lost by losing his loved ones. He tried to do things differently, but all end up with him seeing no one.
Dude this is really shty story. You can get tyres replaced just over a call. He is earning a lot and even she both can place a call. Story is pathetic and impractical. And yes also invest in some sound engineer to mute those irritating water sounds.
Excellent.. Acting ,concept and message. Cheers to the Team....Sanjay Kapoor a hidden talent...... in Industry.. a grounded human and Versatile actor. ...Love to see Sanjay and Anil together now...
Intensified story, Sanjay's acting was bravo, his wife did superb job. These are usual relationship problems couples suffer as happened in this fictional story.... Giving time to each other is very important, and also understanding each other is a crucial part of beautiful relationship at every phase of life. Wonderful story!! Maza aagya! Till the end I was like... What!! 😲, Shit 😟, oh nohhh😐, Oh Acha😁... Interesting 😍
Possibility 1: He took them for granted. Whatever problem happened he never thought anything bad can happen. Although his wife and son met with an accident his mind was still showing him everything was alright. At the end roski wasnt home and even his son was not near the mailbox. Possibility 2: He was actually concerned about them and may have seen everything since he was drunk. Because there was no police car at the end which came after him. I feel like the story is a bit open ended.
Love it with little suspense & day to day kahasuni between husband & wife, their relationship & some sort of negligence & misunderstanding among them, over all it's damn good short & sweet story.
Wonderful film... couldn't sleep at night....it was so gripping and the film stayed with me unlike Gutterwood films which you forget the moment it is over.... Congratulations team
Kudos to the makers. But I felt happy reading the comments. India is growing in a Cinema literate audience. One thing I noticed, If you want a Marathi Cop, Cast a Marathi guy. Not some guy talking Marathi in an accent.
Super short film 🎥..I like theses films sweet n short n message oriented films Everyone has to know the responsibilities ..I want to show film this to my husband
Notice when Rishi's grandmother called saying why Rishi's mom was asking for her car that means they were actually in a party in her grandmother's car so the accident never happened..the father was drunk he made all these scenarios in his head he never actually left the house when he woke up he straight went to the terrace as there was no police car which was following him ..
But while he was drinking, Roski called him that's why he went and reach out to them! That was seem true... End was full of hallucinations of his mind.... What was the end then... I'm still confused?? 😁😁
Great acting by sanjay kapoor and shweta Kawatra. But frankly speaking I couldn't understand the end of it. Where did the policeman go? Was it a complete hallucination or partial one when he sees his wife snd son?
Did Rahul die or wat ?cuz Roski was driving Maruti & Rahul checked the tire of Scorpio & his spirit was reliving his last moments ? I don't know.. so open ended... i wish there is part 2 to explain us !! Anyways god job all the actors & team
This short film, "Friction," brilliantly explores the darker side of personal conflicts and their potential impact on our lives. Sumit Suresh Kumar has crafted a compelling narrative that feels both real and relatable. It's a powerful reminder of how important it is to address issues before they escalate. Don't miss this impactful watch!
Amazing short film. Kudos to the team, especially the writer. The story is amazingly written and superbly directed/acted. Like many of you, I too came down to the comment section post watching the short film to understand what others had to say about the ending. So, to understand the ending better I rewatched it for the second time and noted down the following things (which might help you coming to your conclusion): i) when he left his house after receiving the call, he did close the door after taking the keys. We are not shown the house door getting closed properly as the scene of car door getting shut is overlapped ii)the video game clash of gods had already arrived in the morning (in the scene when she was calling them for lunch and she said guys, "I need to close the kitchen, video game has just arrived today. It's not going anywhere") So the scene where we see Rishi going down to the mailbox to collect Clash of God is untrue as it had already arrived 2-3 days back. Rahul is hallucinating, trying to convince himself that everything is fine. He sees Koski and Rishi too. They weren't actually there. I feel the hallucination stopped when he enters the house at 19:28. The scene between police guy coming behind his car till 19:28 is hallucination. As I said, he actually closed the door before leaving (though not shown closing the door properly). You see the door is properly closed at 19:28 when he entered the house, He receives a call from Koskis phone no. again, which he ignores and runs to the balcony. I feel the police guy would have called him. We can't see his black car because he didn't leave the car outside. He drove it inside the compound and left inside. Police car is also not visible because police car is also inside the compound behind Rishi's car. The police was waiting down for Rahul to come down but he was taking too long so he calls from Koskis phone which he ignores and runs to the balcony. White car shown from top can be Roskis car or some random car. We see bit of some white car when Rahul rushes outside the compound in the beginning. Roski had taken her mom car and they met with an accident.
The movie is just to explain the various possible consequences of friction in relationship that may lead to extramarital affairs or interest in someone else and Consequences of carelessness or irresponsibility that may lead to serious accident.director want to reveal both aspects that's why ending is not clear.
Looks like the souls of wife & son have come to him to remind him of his big Blunder with which he can suffer the rest of his life! Every scene was so intense👍✌ After re-watching, I noted some of my observations > Her mom said that Roski asked for her car, not that she took her car > On her call roski mentioned she was on Juhu rd, the same spot, the caller informed Sanjay > At the end, the white car seen to indicate the reason which caused their death And when we are in Denial, we tend to become Hallucinated😵
“Friction" is an intense and thought-provoking short film that delves deep into the complexities of relationships. Directed by Sumit Suresh Kumar, it beautifully captures how everyday disagreements can escalate into decisions with long-lasting consequences. The nuanced storytelling and strong performances make it a must-watch. Highly recommend checking it out!

Like many of you, I too came down to the comment section post watching the short film to understand what others had to say about the ending.
So, to understand the ending better I rewatched it for the second time and noted down the following things (which might help you coming to your conclusion):
i) when he left his house after receiving the call, he did close the door after taking the keys. We are not shown the house door getting closed properly as the scene of car door getting shut is overlapped
ii)the video game clash of gods had already arrived in the morning (in the scene when she was calling them for lunch and she said guys, "I need to close the kitchen, video game has just arrived today. It's not going anywhere")
So the scene where we see Rishi going down to the mailbox to collect Clash of God is untrue as it had already arrived 2-3 days back.
