Toyota Crown Platinum: Fast & Weird
Вставка
- Опубліковано 31 тра 2024
- We tested the 2023 Toyota Crown Platinum. It's large sedan or SUV/Crossover depending on your perspective. It's as long a Highlander, but still looks like a sedan. Our tester had the Hybrid Max 2.4L turbo hybrid powertrain mated to a 6 speed auto. We're still trying to figure out what it's all about, but we know it's quick and it's quirky.

340 combined horsepower. Not 320.
Your are correct sir. Too much work, not enough checking. My bad.
@@revmatchtv apologize to the 20 horses
This really sounds like a hugely improved perfect Avalon/Japanese Lincoln Town Car. That's what the original Crown is. Reliable, comfortable, economical, (fast is a new thing for Crown), solid feeling no hassle car. Can drive across the country with the same ease of around town.
Great review Revmach🤘
I bought the Crown Platinum because it is cheaper than the Lexus 500h but also has the same engine, trans and adaptive suspension to the 500h.
How’s the ride quality? Because I am planning to buy one but I am confused between this and Lexus 500h. I really wanted to buy 500h but it’s way too expensive. Please suggest
@@manasreddy1249 It is hard for me to say. I never test drove the 500h. I just saw the components are the same with a few exceptions. When i bought the Crown .. salespeople were not familiar with the vehicle. Advance parking threw them off. The Crown should really have a demo show as there are lotngs of features but I am like you, regarding more bang for the buck. It does have 6 drive modes which i do not see with the 500h. But 500h has rear steering.
I got 35.4 mpg with the last tank of gas. Mostly highways going 7 mph over. I am very happy with the performance passing on the back roads .
This is on the Platinum trim?
Yes. This is on my platinum trim with 91 premium gasoline.
Rolling hills In Wisconsin.
Looks Similar To The 8th Gen Nissan Maxima To Me , But Bigger And Stronger If You Go For The Platnium .
nice looking on the outside and very practical and clean interior layout. To bad the interior materials used in the Crown feel way too cheap.
retirement comm...... dude I am an Xer who loves my Avalon Touring .... its a wonderful car . as some one with some disabilities it also allows me enough room and mobility and features as well as kick in sport mode when I want to have a little fun not too much .
I'm a millennial and I love my Avalon. I have the hybrid limited, it's practical and powerful.
I like it, it’s different sedan look and not sporty looking
340 horsepower
My next car….or should I say…my gift to my wife😊
The toyota avalon was really quick it had 301hp much less for that vehicle at have more power to replace it
Shoulda been a hatch back
👍
Love the idea of the car, and on paper its terrific, but I just cannot get behind the styling.
It's a strange mix of ideas, with some SUV looking bits thrown in here and there and the weirdly tall look. If this was more clean and stately, like previous Crowns, it's be the perfect daily!
Fast?😂
It isn’t even faster than a v6 Camry
0-60 the V6 Camry is quicker, but this has vastly more torque and once you're moving it really hauls.
It is faster than the v6 Camry on paper and in real world.
@@jshashwat93 isn’t the crown a lot heavier than the Camry? 4200lbs vs 3600?
It’s the same weight difference going from a v6 Camry to a rav4 prime
@@naveenthemachine what's wrong with having the heavier and bigger car again?
There are Lexus features in the Platinum Crown that the Camry lacks. It would be more realistic to compare the Platinum Crown to the Lexus 500h.
