I appreciate that you're bringing awareness to the plastic in food and the link to cancer and plastic. I changed out my cutting boards to wood thanks to your suggestion. ❤😊
I've been doing the last one with the tomato paste for years. It does work. You can cut the can along the outer edge instead of inner edge and the paste slides right out. ❤
Hi❤ the plastic bag with sauce actually works with grated garlic as well. You can use it anytime and the garlic still tastes fresh and nice . Just a little tip 😊 I would love some more videos with your sister or some Q&A videos 😊❤
here’s what i made and it worked Mug pizza stir together 1/2 cup flour 1/4 tsp baking powder 1/4 tspbaking soda 1/2 teaspoon olive oil 3-4 tablespoons milk put on top marinara sauce cheese and other toppings microwave in 30 second intervals
I just came across your content a couple of days ago & love it! The tomato paste hack has been around since the 1960’s and works great as long as your can has a lip on both sides. I’ve been using it for 20+ years & never had a problem with it.
About your suggestion about what to do next, I loved all your nerdy nummie videos as a kid, maybe just go back to the time where you taught us how to bake a cake with a unique design, theme, or ingredient, and have us follow along with you, seeing your funny personality throughout all your desserts! You love to bake, just do that! 😊❤😊
I use a silicone muffin pan to freeze measured "pucks" of stuff, like quarter cups of half and half for cooking or scoops of beans. I have to get creative cooking for one. When stuff is frozen you pop it out and put it in a labeled bag in the freezer. I even do that with food for my pets- I have some that eat veggies and making a mix then freezing it is so useful.
I do this too! I have a couple of silicone "trays" that are specifically for this that are 1/2 cup size and 1 cup size. Makes saving leftovers or meal prep components (like stock) so easy - and I love that they are individually portioned. It's so awesome!
I love how you are conscious about things being unhygienic - like 5min crafts are spreading these videos that are harmful because food hygiene is so important
Rosanna wearing her cute outfit is giving Courteney Cox vibes, really love her lilac hint of lavender top paired with corduroy jeans is so iconic & nothing can ever go wrong with denim ❤❤
SO MANY of those knife hacks feel like "nervous/scared to work with knives? Here's how to feel better (but actually make it even EASIER to injure yourself)!", and I get it, sharp things can be scary, but you'd be better off getting a sharp knife (dull knives aren't safer, don't make that mistake) and a stable cutting board (board sliding around when you cut? put it on top of a damp towel, boom! stable as heck) and just going slowly and paying close attention as you go (know where your fingers are, know where the knife will go down, make sure they never meet; if you pay attention to that and go slow that's fewer injuries while you practice and build your confidence cutting things). Heck, maybe there's local cooking classes or something that can help teach you technique if you never learned how to work with one.
Some cans don't work very well with the cutting the bottom off the top. If you have one that the bottom looks the same as the top of the can (the way it is sealed) then it is a good one to try it with. It is super helpful for super thick food items like refried beans.
With the apple juice hack it works because when you freeze the apple the cells in the the apple expand so when you let it thaw it gets mushy so it is easier to juice.
@@RosannaPansino i started a huge fan of you ever since you started nerdy nummies you did mario cake I watched all your nerdy nummies episodes all the time and gaming videos and music videos vlogs you my favorite UA-camr I can’t find you in glee you’re so beautiful talented actress 🥰🫶🏻❤️
Most of these were ridiculous, besides that mug pizza, which looks delicious. The tomato paste one at the end actually works if you get the can with the pop-top as originally shown because it is shaped a little bit different on the bottom (i.e. less of a lifted edge). It also works on almost any can with an electric can opener too!
The title lol😂😂😂 "please send help" the first hack actually works but I'm old school, I tap it like how you'd make your egg & take the skin off in 1 peel, really loving these fun hacks series, she's so cute & funny 😄😀 I love you Ro
Love this! But I noticed you were using the can opener wrong. You had the can opener to the side of the can, but you’re supposed to put it directly on top. And then the top isn’t jagged and comes off easily.
23:37 A quick suggestion, instead of placing the angled roller blade on top of the can, place the flat roller blade on top of the can, this will remove the entire top of the can, no need to pull out the cap of the can 👍
Maybe the kiwi hack would be good if you wanted to get a young kid involved in the kitchen? Because peelers and knifes aren’t safe for them to use. I bet you can get unflavored floss picks too.
Ro! At 23:20 you can put your can opener horizontal, it cuts the entire top of the can off! that way you don't struggle trying to cut the bottom of the can off, it works on any can, top or bottom!
I’m sort of surprised that the onion thing didn’t work, I’ve seen the hack where you take two mixing bowls and you put a bunch of garlic where you’ve chopped off the stem and you throw it in there and then you shake that around, and while the peels don’t just pop off, your hands get less dirty, and it does seem to help a lot. It’s not perfect or magic, but it definitely loosens them and makes it far easier. You do end up with two mixing bowls to clean, but it does seem better.
The tomato paste can by opening it on the opposite end does work. 1. You didn’t have the can opener on the can correctly or 2. It was a bad can opener.
The avocado one we actually use for making guac at costa vida. We cut it in half, take the pit out, scoop it out with a spoon, then press it through the cookie rack to squish it, then mix it with the other ingredients
So when I get asparagus at the store, it comes with rubber bands on the top and bottom, so basically I just move the bottom rubber band to where I would cut the bottom off, and then cut just above the rubber band, the bottom bits stay together, I then drop the bundle into the trash after taking off the rubber band and saving it.
I know channels and content need to grow, mature and change with the times but I miss the “Nerdy Nummies” before she got the Uber fame…. But I still enjoy most of her content now….
Agreed. I have been subscribed since about 2012-2013 but by now I barely enjoy her videos anymore. Happy for everyone who does, but it's not my cup of tea anymore.
a handy tip for removing the opened can lid that’s fallen into the can- use a magnet to pull it out! i use a fridge magnet; works perfectly and saves my fingers from accidents
Ro, hack for cooking eggs. tap the bottom of the egg so it cracks just a bit then put it into water but in the water put a bit of white vinegar and some salt and boil for as long as you usually do and then once they're cooled a bit they peel so easily.
22:00 -- here in Québec, we have a drink called « Le cidre de glace » (Iced Hard Apple Cider). It's a hard cider made it from apples that froze during the winter. The freezing makes the juice very sweet and smooth (as you tasted here), so it's really only served like a dessert wine in small cordial cups. It's super good, but I usually only drink one or two cordial cups at most because it's so sweet.
I feel like you've have fun making "pita pizzas": - You just get some store-bought pita breads. (Yes fancier pita is probably better, but this is a cheap recipe, not an extravagant one.) - Some pizza sauce (store bought works, but you're a chef, you can probably make your own) - Whatever cheese you want to use, shredded or sliced if you have to. (I prefer Muenster, most people prefer Mozzarella, but it also works with any cheese, even non-dairy melty-cheese-like products) - And an array of standard pizza toppings. (meats should be pre-cooked, for safety... I'm usually content with chicken, mushroom, and olives, but you can put anything out you think your guests would want) - Grab a pita, don't open it, just leave it as is. - Put how much sauce you want on it. Leaving some pita to crisp into a crust. - Put how much cheese you want, - and pick and choose what toppings to put on there too. (gets harder to get right, anywhere past 3 toppings, but it can work) - Then pop it in an oven (300-375 degrees, not an exact science, if the cheese is melty, it's probably fine), a toaster oven (don't own one, you'll have to figure it out yourself), or even a microwave (still don't own one, but also wouldn't really recommend), - and cook it until the cheese gets melty. - serve up and Enjoy. Careful sometimes it needs to cool just a little. Very customizable, easy to let people pick out their own pizzas instead of as a group, and kind of fun too. I've made them at random kids parties, teenager's graduation parties, big sports-game home gatherings, and even just some older friends that consider themselves foodies, and wanna have some fun messing around with their food too.
the tomato paste one actually works and is not messy. I usually just lift mine up to get my opener secured on it and then lower it into my bowl/mixture and then push the lid through... definitely not as messy and you get all of the paste from the can.
There were so many bad ones here, I was right along with Ro being excited when the couple good ones worked. (I love the sauce portions!) My family has done the butter bread to butter corn on the cob for years. So much less messy than trying to put the butter on directly with a knife.
