If people are wondering, the answer is "No, we Filipinos don't usually keep tarantulas as pets."
Thankfully I am not their neighbor!
Very true, but the "dipper" was spot on! (LOL!!!)
Poor snake having to live in such a tiny enclosure ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️
this is really more of the upper middle class rentals so it just captures a small segment of how apartments look like in Manila.
Exactly, it's expensive for rent but If it's a mortgage then It can be reasonable
Hi
I wish they’d do a low, middle, and high income apartments
It's actually pretty ordinary for young professionals to have this kind of rental or home
Most of those featured in this series are those of the middle class, especially the upper middle class.
Love it when they show one apartment at a time....really not a fun of the "mash-ups", quite confusing
Same!
Same! I didnt watch those mash ups apartmemt videos
I'm amazed at how much stuff Sid was able to fit in her place
For anyone wondering why they show condominiums rather than the regular apartments it's because no one wants to look at ugly living areas.
I, myself would like to see the more realistic renting areas. Not the few and far between rent that most people cant afford.
Normally young Filipinos live with their roommates---literally! By "roommates", we 2-6 people who are sharing your room. Not your apartment, your room!
😦
Really 6? I thought 4 is the max for a unit. How much then? I'm from a nearby province by the way (but we don't depend on metro manila for jobs, etc....).
Damn
This depends on their income level. A person can be young but has his/her own apartment- either parents are rich or they are successful at a young age.
Rip
Zhaun's apartment is very neat and i love how he organized the stuff 🔥 especially the living area
Thanks Rayzel! I try to keep it tidy because I have limited space and it gets cramped quickly.
The tarantulas also pay rent?
I love Filipino people! I have not had a bad experience with ONE. I know you cant generalize but I think they are truly lovely people. Every person interviewed felt so genuine and inviting :)
Aaaw. Thank you!!
I understand this. I was in the Navy in San Diego, and worked with lots of people from the Philippines. In general they are very family oriented, friendly and welcoming. And I love The food! Of course this is a generalization. But it does describe their culture, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Different cultures have different characteristics. It’s what makes the world a great place to live!
Me who lives in England, not weird at all that the washing machine is in the kitchen😄
Haha good to know!
Also not weird in Korea.
Great to know I’m not alone! Haha
@Adrian good to know! Haha it’s pretty odd here. We usually have an outdoor laundry area because we hang dry.
I know I thought that it was only the Americans that have a whole room dedicated to washing machine and dryers 😅
OMG they called it "daster" too in Philippines! I thought it's an only Indonesian thing 😂
Tagalog and Indonesian/Malay are related Austronesian languages but this specific use may be related to American English where it is traditionally called a "duster" (but this is I think really old and not in common use any more). Not sure of the etymology.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_dress
tl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daster
We also call it duster here in kenya. We use it for cleaning floor etc.Unless if you meant something else.
Benar kak. Tapi di Filipina pakai itu sering perempuang yang tua. Tapi di indonesia Saya observasi walaupun petempuan mudah pakai itu. Wkwkwk
Same here in India
Really?! So cool
You should do Amman, Jordan sometime!
Everyone thumb up this comment so they can see it love from iceland
@@scorpioqueen9633 I love Iceland! Hope to visit one day :). Love from Australia.
@@Capernicus19 Love right back too you bebe, you can rent a room here for around 568$ but for an apartment anywhere from 780$ for 35-45 sqm hole and up.
@@scorpioqueen9633 thank you 😁, I thought that would be the case, sounds cosy 😆, good for minimalistic living 🤷♀️. Will just encourage me to explore the beautiful country more, but have to save up for that trip ☺️
Hi
i love how zhauns stuff really reflect his personality
Aaaw. That’s so sweet! Thank you
I wonder what they do for a living and how they are able to afford the monthly rent. Most Filipinos not even earn more than 25k/month unless you’re a supervisor or a manager or has a big job as a boss. Most millennials live with their parents.
Hey Francince! I’m part of the training team of our company. 😀
Si idol sid is a musician.dalawa condo niya isa lang yan sa mga bahay nya
Trainers/managers at BPOs tend to earn higher than normal. Salaries also tend to be higher in Metro Manila vs elsewhere in the country.
I've also known people who were fluent in 2-3 other languages (Spanish or Mandarin for example) and a secretary can earn 100k just because they can act as translator.
@@mmmgoes heard that too. Maybe I should look into BPOs. Haha
@@zhaunortega3047 honestly tempting to just find work when it's tough being an entrpreneur during the pandemic lol
WOWWWWW PROUD OF YOUU SIDDIE! ^_^ LOVE YOU! MISS YOU!
Hope you can make a San Diego version!! Would love to be a part of it 😊 I’m such a huge BuzzFeed fan!
I watched the Indian episode yesterday and thought it is VERY similar to Filipino rent houses I guess then I watched this now and I think this is upper middle class side. I think not majority of Filipinos can live in condos/apartments.
Yes, you're right. That's not how majority of Filipino apartments look like. However, depending on the location, you can actually get a more affordable apartments with the same quality in a different area in Metro Manila. The apartments shown here are located in business districts.
Oh my Gosh! Sid Buan is here!!! ❤️❤️❤️
"We already started the Christmas season in the Philippines" lol this is so funny 😂
Haha it’s true! September marks the start of the Christmas season here. 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
2 months and counting! ahaha!
I am from the Philippines. These people are from upper class, which do not represent a lot of us.
?????college student ka ba bro??? Apartments lang bro, wala naka sabi bahay.
high class? High class people live in Forbes, Alabang, Dasma, etc.
I'm not from the Philippines. I live in the USA. But am from Vietnam. The way I gauge 'high class' is level of English. They speak fluent English. Only high class rich people speak on that level. Maybe they're not super rich...but that kind of English means very high level education and connection.
@@swicheroo1 English is an official language in the Philippines. These people are not upper class. The upper class are Chinese and Spanish and they live in mansions. Upper class people wouldn’t be living in a tiny apartment
@@minim6981 the series is apartments all over the world not mansions. Bobo
props to Sid Buan
Ang cool talaga ni mahal sid
I’m realising that people who live in apartments normally have cats and record players.
And i’m here wishing i had cats 🤣🤣
😆
I love sid buan so much
Loved this episode! 😍
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Sid’s house is so cool! A lot of cool stuff and animals, but very organized. My apartment is like that too :) seems like a really nice girl :D
Shes the best!
This one is so interesting!
I love her apartment, not a fan of her spiders but hay she's like them :)
Thank you 😊
Did she have a stove ?
I don’t really mind the spiders, but I don’t think snakes should be kept as pets. That’s just my opinion, but of the snakes I’ve seen people have, they usually get crazy. I don’t think the tarantula cares that he lives in a box, but I think the snakes do. And I really do love snakes. They’re fascinating. But not as pets.
Wowwww
Very Very Nice
When I saw the Miriam College Innovation Center sign, the "Blue and Gold of Miriam" started to play inside my head. I'm thankful that I'm a Maryknoll student. :DD
Sid, your hobby area is so good!!!
I misssss u!
See you soonest! 😍😁😁
They are more known as condos here in Manila. Though I live in a house.
I am surprised she can have so many pets like wow.
Those apartments are too small, reminds me of the apartments in the Tokyo episode. Sid got the best deal out of the three.
You can get a lot more for less if you live outside Manila.
@@dezza2001 or just the cities beside them, like in CAMANAVA area, still Manila but not the business center of
@@dezza2001 that is true but you'll end up paying for more for transpo or having to travel longer.
@@reignkimberly CBD neighborhoods tend to be pricey. Those near schools are cheaper.
The featured locations are popular economic and/or education centers. If you move away from those areas or choose a non-condo property, it could be cheaper, but not always.
How do we all have the same mother lol. My mom is always coming over, scoffing at how unclean I am (even if I think it’s clean), deep cleaning, and leaving me instructions on how to do better 🤣❤️
My mom has never been to my apartment. 😅😅😅 i wish she could visit soon and leave me notes
Please do one in Cebu City too!
Yasss daster finally something in this video that i could relate to lmao
Oh my god I never realised how expensive Manila is ! So tiny apartments for so much money!
Lol buzzfeed showcased the most expensive areas to live in. I live in the area where Sid lives and you can rent a condo at a much cheaper price
Sid😍
Hii, i'm from Sumatera, indonesia, ooh God it's amazing travelling❤️ , i hope i can get there to make my own travelling video too, please give me advice to make a perfect video like you. ❤️❤️
The price is almost the same at Ho Chi Minh city, my brother used to rent a middle class condo when his house was built and the rent is about 10m Vnd ( about 500 usd ) a month , and not include any furniture except the electricity stove, if you rent a upper class apartment, the price can up to 1000 to 1500 usd
It was great that She said that "daster" is a natioanl night gown. Like every Southeast asian grown woman will use that night gown eventually.
Im from cambodia i love your videos
Its interesting to see washer dryers in apartments around the world because in NY they make the apts really expensive just to offer it
Everyone needs a rice cooker! I almost got rid of mine once, because I was trying to minimalize, and you can make rice on the stove in a pot, but I just couldn’t do it!
Come to Canada!
Do Singapore or Malaysia!
Why does it say lives alone yet throughout the tour all you hear is this is our!!!
She's probably including her snakes, spiders, fish, cat, etc.
@@sdo55699 yes I think you are right.
maybe the partner stays with them sometimes but doesn't live there full time
How can we volunteer to showcase our apartment? I live in Portland OR USA, I think people would enjoy seeing my apartment!
Snakes spiders and cats 😀😀😀❤️❤️❤️
Malaysia next. Malaysia 's apartments still in lower prices even though in USD. Me, my sister and brother currently living in apartments that look luxury (normal class people and family that living there actually) with 3 bedrooms, swimming pool, gym and your own car park lot. It's cost only USD300 per month in southern area next to Singapore border!
That’s true! Malaysia apartments are super nice! And reasonably priced too. Especially in KK.
@@zhaunortega3047I read a few comments actually. I have neighbours from Philippines who married with local guys. She's super nice too! Your people are so hardworking, cultural and friendly. But you know like us too, politicians are really messed up with our lives.
Haha I try not think about politics but yeah. Malaysian are awesome! Also unpopular opinion: I love the food at Jalan Alor. Haha
Sid: small apartmwnt and a lot of stuff
Also Sid: Look at this stuff, isn't it neat! Wouldn't you say my collection isn't complete
Would love for you to do this with Hong Kong except the apartments here are basically shoeboxes 😭
It would be the greatest if apartments allowed snakes since they're easy to maintain if you know how.
It is! They're the best ❤
Omg tarantulas and snakes as pets 😱😱
may ref si Sid

Drop the twitch link Sid!
Canada or turkey next plzz
TABO!!!
Do namibia
Choosing Makati, BGC and QC is big middle class energy
I’d love to visit some day
MrSincerity88 it’s awesome here! Always sunny and people are friendly
haha pilipino talaga mahilig sa anik anik

Did anyone else see that trex crossing sign?
I live that spot lol
I meant *love hahaha sorry. It leads to a child’s museum.
@@zhaunortega3047 OHHHHH THAT MAKES SENSE WHY ITS THERE!! Thanks for the info 🤩
The gentleman didn't really show his apartment, he showed his knickknack.
what happens when the cat eats the fish and the snake eats the cat? SOMEONE PLEASE RESCUE THESE ANIMALS!!!
Wow 20 kiyaw 😅 ang mahal po
I don’t know why everyone thinks it’s weird to have a washer and dryer in the kitchen. Lots of places have them in the kitchen in the USA. They usually have doors in front of them so you can close them off though.
In the Philippines we usually have an outdoor laundry area because we hang-dry most of the time.
What's the dipper for?
Getting water, pouring water. It is usually paired with a pail. Helps save from your water consumption. Alternative to using a shower and toilet paper if you do not have a bidet.
All 3 of them.have a very good english accent and probably earn good money.....and have a very good lifestyle but i know majority of people there do not live so much luxurious life.
those are mostly upper middle class apartments
Their rents are bigger than my monthly salary! And I thought I'm decent to be considered as middle class. People in the cities are built different.
Really that’s only 20k , I lived in Manila and I never found apartment at that price .
4:02 why is there a T-Rex?
Lol it leads to a child’s museum 🤣🤣
@@zhaunortega3047 oh lol
omg, snake ?
Anyone paused to read mom's instructions? No? Just me. Okay.
You could have shown at least one bigger house
Halfway through watching, and I just noticed Zhaun wearing his shoes indoors. I thought no Asian does this. Is this common in the Philippines?
I wear shoes or slippers indoors. Haha.
No its not. We usually wear house slippers.
Check also houses of middle to low income pinoys🤔😁
Last girl's apartment was way too meesy.
Tarantulas, fish, cat and snake ... HOW ON EARTH is this legally allowed in any home of ANY SIZE let alone a tiny studio?!?!?
25000php a month? I'm done!
Most of these are most likely a professional who earns P50,000 and above. It's not uncommon especially if you live near downtown and has a job in the most in-demand fields like BPOs, Advertising, Marketing, etc. Actually, as someone from Makati, these types of apartments are common, and there are also affordable apartments like the ones near the border of BGC and the ones share with roommates.
I assume you're not from Makati?
Why buzzfeed always covers only upper middle class and luxury apartments, wide spectrum of people live everywhere
The costs seem very high to me . I live 60 Km outside Toronto, Canada in a much better place for $600 USD / $750 CAND. I've seen lots of bigger, more beautiful homes for rent in the Philippines for under $500 USD a month. The majority of the people showcase in this series are young or students... and value living in trendy, bustling locations more than cost. Plus we have better healthcare. The Philippines are beautiful people and place... but the Western Style condos are both bland an a lousy value. If I can live cheaper near Toronto than Manilla... something is very wrong. I would still love to visit!
They live smack in the city center you can't compare it to outskirts of Toronto. Outside city center the rents would be cheaper too. I bet Toronto rents are higher in the city center.
Pros: really beautiful woman
Cons: likes deadly spiders and snakes
😩😂
Maybe the snake likes to escape because it’s kept in a tiny box home?
Hey buzzfeed, If you guys are interested in more apartments around Manila - hit me up! My 30k pesos condo, 1000 sq ft, wrap around balcony, with 50+ Plants, in Makati CBD. LOL
MY GOSSSHHH... QC? BGC? Makati? It's funny... But this is already Upper social class in the Philippines... 😅🤣😂 Can we show at least Middle Class? Lols!
I like the last segment! It closely depicts what it's like to live in Manila. Honest and real!

Believe it or not, this is the Middle class of Manila. Upper Class Manila families do not live in studio apartments. They live in posh 3 bedroom apartments and big mansions.
When the girl says "daster" & "batik, traditional clothes from Philippine" I imagine the comment would be Indonesians being angry batik claimed by other countries 😀
They’re showing the upper class appartments/condos because no one wants to see show what the rentals in manila really look like. Old, outdated and semi finished. I live in a $100/month apartment and its just a bit smaller than where sid lives
*Don't you think those poor animals would be better off in their natural habitat instead of in that tiny enclosure?* 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️😠😠😠
It makes me so sad to see animals in tiny cages. They do not make happy animals, not surprisingly
Why the f**k does she need that many tarantulas? I would not trust them in my house lol
Nice manipulation
Jeez these are fucking tiny
Why were they all studios? Poor ranging. Manila is pricier than I would have thought, though only by a bit.
