It's so easy to read to people on how they really feel or how they truly are. You can mostly just feel that person's energy around you, whether good or negative. When they try too hard at trying to be someone they're not towards you is a fake feeling. I could trick a person to reveal how they truly feel about me by doing or not doing certain actions. I could tell if just because someone did a certain thing, it boosts their ego...I could tell that by their body language, tone of voice, how they act. It's so easy to read humans, they're followers, so they're predictable. The following part is the fake part, not the real part.

Yeah I always felt like I could read people as easy as a book but apparently not everyone can do that…. Studies suggest It’s a trauma response. As children with restrictions or strict parents whose mood can change often, it’s common for them to learn body language as protection. Making it easy for us to notice the “negative people” isn’t the crowds crowd, so we know who to avoid. Did you have strict parents?

certain situations and circumstances require and develop the necessary skills, body language can be learned in both cases, but what if a person is blind reading body language is excluded right?
The topic is very broad and relative, what I want to say is that a person who has empathy does not rely on externI senses.

As others have mentioned this info is basically phrenology. I was drawn to this title tho bc I’ve certainly had the experience of meeting two people who look alike or have a similar style/characteristics who ALSO have similar personalities or think alike. Sometimes the two people aren’t even the same race! I’m sure we’ve all met someone and thought “this person is like the white/Korean/Mexican/whatever version of my friend from high school”. I have a theory that there is at least one Indian and one Chinese version of everyone in the US. Also I don’t think it’s as simple as four major types, maybe hundreds with room for individual variation but still that’s not a lot in a world w more than 7 billion people. I will fully acknowledge that our brains are always seeking patterns and many times find them in places there are none so the simplest example would be two siblings who look alike and have the same mannerisms and sense of humor. This could be environmental, but what about when grandson looks like grandfather and has the same temperament even though they never met. My point is personality is (at least partly) hereditary and so is appearance so perhaps there is some link between them that is not racially motivated and much harder to discern (and probably still touchy because who wants to not feel unique). Anyone had a similar experience?

This text is 100 years old and it really shows. I find myself bemused by the people in the comments that took this phrenology pseudoscience as gospel. The notion that observing phenotypes could make it so you know a person better than their mother is precisely the mindset that our race has aspired to walk away from since those dirty hippies and counter culture beatniks liberated us from the unwritten rules of the 50s. Despite the archaic prejudice the book was founded on I thoroughly enjoyed it, I also gained insight into why my 80 year old father believes the things he does, and I have a whole new understanding of black and white cartoon characters; I was thinking about Popeye's hamburger happy pal for the whole first chapter.
What got me thinking the most though, was how ardently the authors proclaimed the validity of their hypotheses. Throughout the book they claimed their claims were irrefutable as they were based on science, providing anecdotes of cash rewards to their students to disprove them and illustrating archetypes for people to relate to. Makes me wonder, what will people think of our current paradigms over the next century? We can still relate to Shakespear, and the ancient Greek poets as if they spoke to us today because our animal instinct and emotional circuitry have not advanced in the same way that our social structure and engineering has, but we are currently in the process of a neo evolution, an external tertiary layer to our brains, the collective hive mind of the internet is still embryonic. Makes me glad to be 30 years young, I look foreward to a future with all you beautiful people.
(Thoracic, Osteous btw, if I had to choose)

No mam, I am but a lowly high school drop out with an internet connection and a lust for life, thoracic and Osteus are indeed anatomical descriptions, this whole book is the basis of phrenology, these people measured skulls to determine their behavior. Osteus referring to bones, as in osteoporosis, or osteoblasts, its said those people are rigid and inflexible, where people with a thoracic disposition, very artsy and outgoing. These two types of people are complete opposites, yet here I stand lol

Whether your skin is red black or blue, I am still a part of you, and in turn you're part of me, we all share some genealogy.

What I am trying to look for is not analyzing someones personality, but what is currently happening in their life based on clues surrounding the person such as inferring their income, recent marital status, where they went to school, and recent habits. A really good example of what I am trying to learn is in the first episode of season 1 of “Reacher”, starting at 17:27. He guesses spot on that the guy has gone to harvard, is recently divorced, and quit smoking within the last 6 months based on his attire, accesories, location relative to where he grew up in, and behavior. Whenever I try to research analyzing a person, I get mostly results about reading their character and personality, which is not what I am looking for. Is this type of analyzing the same as personality analyzing? Is there a different keyword for what I am looking for? asking for a friend, and thank you so much if you have read all of this.

I have this 'gift' . I mostly love it but it does mean I tend to over analyse everything. You don’t get just the 'good bits' from people you feel their grieving, their sadness and hopelessness and sometimes I need to be 'people free' for a few days to distance myself from others emotions. Do any of you think like this too? 🧐

Yes but eventually you have to scrap some of that empathy because it will take a toll on you

Wow I'm speechless reading this comment. I vibe off people too like if they are depressed or something wrong it sticks to me I have to get away from it. God's gift

    Dear god,
I have an enermy that won’t give up, they use all there energy and time to make sure I slip and fall to everyone I know.
Recently my enermy’s goal is to make sure I stay in bed all day and not do anything with my life.
When I get up to go see family that when they attack and do things to get me in trouble with my family. My enemy thinks there clever. All they want is to see me hopeless and alone.
Expose my enemies once and for all.
Lord find it in your heart to help me.
Lord I’m begging for your help.
Lord I beg you show me who is doing this to my life? Lord show me this individual that wants to see me doing wrong all the time. Bring me my enemies so I can speak to them face to face and ask them why?
    I need closure.
Thank so much lord for listening to my prayer and please respond in the name off jesus
    Amen

The most dangerous enemy is within. The others are none of your business.
