These are oral histories and should be preserved/ supported by the NY historical society. Well done CQ. 100 years from now these will be incredibly valuable.

@@jimmyosullivan6384That’s Steve Kelly-Yorkville Legend with Colin. They know each other many years. I know Steve’s younger brother Mark (mentioned in Vid) close to 50 years now & Steve as well-
This is my first time watching Colin. I was sent to the site as I also grew up in Yorkville & although I don't know the guest personally, I know some of his family. Anyhow this was awesome. He brought back memories. He spoke more of the 60's & 70's. I am more of late 70's, 80's and 90's and like this guest I saw a side of Yorkville that the residents of today wouldn't believe. They think it came from a movie. But I'll tell ya it was the safest place growing up cause we were like one big family and everyone looked out for each other. My mom was there till her passing in 2009. Although I lived in Brooklyn, Long Island, State of Florida, Middletown, NY & for the past 17 years in Vestal, NY, never have I found the love and loyalty we had for each other in Yorkville. To this day I keep in touch with my Yorkville Street Family (which is how I look at them) & although many of our good ones have past...I know they still look over us. There never was and never will be a neighborhood like YORKVILLE again! We had block parties, helped each others parents, could walk through the projects at 2am without a care. #Yorkvilleforeverinmyheart. Thanks Colin for giving our representative time to talk about it! Very impressed with his interview. Kinda reminded me of one of my real brothers, who passed on! Peace, love & happiness to all!
Colin. This is a pure joy to watch. As an Irishman that spent 17 years in ireland, 13 in England and now nearly 10 in Australia, I just love your passion for culture and history. My only gripe is that it's 6am now and I gotta go to work! Haha. But I can't wait to see this tonight. I've never been to America but always wish I had, I watch videos of people driving the streets of NY just to get a sense of the vibes. So, 😂these vids to me are worthy of your Smithsonian. 🙏. You the man. Btw, get history hyenas back together and be on Tim dillon as often as possible.. just 2 small favors, ok bye. 😅
I was born in Yorkville in 1953 at Doctor's Hospital, across the street from the Mayor's Mansion. Thanks for touring the old neighborhood and shining a light on some interesting history that most people are not aware.
Colin, you are the ultimate New Yorker. My family all came from New York, the Irish side from Inwood, and the Italian side from Brooklyn/LSE. I love that you're doing this. It's a great way to honor the legacy of the millions of people who have called New York home throughout the centuries. I'd love to see you walk through Green-wood cemetery one day!
I love these walking history tours and your buddies' recollections. I lived in Yorkville in the 80s and 90s and love Carl Schurz Park. Keep these coming Colin!
I live in Yorkville - like so much of New York, the neighborhood of today is virtually unrecognizable compared to the scene of 50 years ago. it’s amazing to hear these stories.
So glad we're getting to hear all those stories before the memories begin to fade. "Some of the kids were semi-normal...." I can't thank your guides enough for sharing their tales. A lot of nostalgia, a lot of love but also stories of jeopardy and sometimes tragedy. Much love 🙏
Loving these videos, I could watch them all day. So interesting to hear all the personal stories and connections to the neighbourhood. Looking forward to the next one 😊
"Yeah, I've read his stuff, I kind of, uh, you know, connected w/him obviously, because, you know, I'm a ball player." that's a killer line, perfectly delivered, 10 out of 10! I could watch theses two for hours
I've been waiting for something like this since colin did the segment with vice on NYC taxi cabs. Being from Queensland Australia I love hearing these stories with quinn, quinn IS new York.
Colin, I am in my 50’s, born and raised in Brooklyn. I now live in Texas so your videos are a real treat for me. With all of the gentrification going on I just wanted to say thank you sir for preserving our history.
This is really a brilliant series -- this is a great, great idea and perfectly done. Aggravating to hear people call things "important" but these are awesome pieces of history that might otherwise be lost. Everything I love about New York, reminds me of Dubliners too. Really cool man.
I love this new series, Colin!!! I moved to NYC in January 2018 from Denver. I live on Staten Island but i enjoy visting the city every so often. Thanks so much. Great history lessons with this series. More please! ❤
I live in Yorkville (which most people here just call the Upper East Side now) so this was very cool to see. Would like to see one of these on the LES/EV
I was drawing, listening to the episode, enjoying it a lot and just wanted to say that, even more than usual, the fat NYC accents are amazing in this one! cheers, Colin.
I'm from San Jose California. Man I'm Lovin' these Colin, keep pumpin' em out. Been with You since Tough Crowd, Lovin' what You're doin' keep it up Man.
This was awesome! Thanks for sharing. I've had an apt. on 2nd Ave./96th St. in an old walkup built in 1910 for 30 years, and always wondered about this neighborhood's history. Met you once on your 1st day at SNL--I was on 17 to meet Tom Schiller (I'd been an intern in '89 and he & I'd become friends). You were very friendly (I'd recognized you from clubs and Remote Control). We both knew Juskow in common (maybe Royce and Danny Vermont too). Those guys and I were on a sketch comedy show together in college. Where has all the time gone...?? Stay well!
I will do the second part.. Steve is my oldest brother. He 66. I am 61.. Mark. And we both are till living here.. Me and Colin are friends over 40 years..🇮🇪🍀
New York history for New Yorkers. By those who lived it. Natural everything. True words. No music. Could it be any more real? Could it be any more LOVING?
I have never been to New York ( cleveland working class longshoreman here) these are amazing. I feel like i must go after watching these Thank you cheers gentlemen. If you're ever in cleveland I will return the favor and show you my neighborhood

Oral histories. Nice.

How does Colin only have 18.7k subscribers? The guy is legendary. One of the last of the old school comics left
Word!
I loved Colin for years and just learned about it on Rogan. Hell Rogan didn't even know lol. I'm subbed now!
Absolutely brilliant way to see NYC.
