Ok, let's talk about the $100 million CGI budget. Oh, wait! It didn't have a CGI budget. Ok, let's talk about the globe trotting locations and spectacular vistas. Oh, wait! It was all filmed on a single location and set. Ok, let's talk about the 15 A-List stars and the $20 million salaries each demanded. Oh, wait! The movie only had 6 characters and I'm betting the whole film didn't cost $20 million to make. So, what's left to talk about? Well, it was small budget, well written, well acted "Western." It had White hats and Black hats and it demonstrated why they are really all Grey hats. It had a fine shoot out and a redemption arch. It had a life lesson conveyed and learned. But above all else it made you feel something. And what else could you ask from a GOOD WESTERN?

Tim Blake Nelson should have got an oscar. You can see the regret n pain his eyes. The weariness but also the cold look. Brilliant

I noticed all the little things in the film pointing to the twist. It was very satisfying to watch.
The buildup made the ending soo satisfying.
Great twist. I had no expectations of this movie and it turned out pretty damn good.
This and Bone Tomahawk should be the model of the 21st century western, both excellent movies.
Loved every minute of OLD HENRY , understood it right from the first frame , Billy The Kid all the way !!!
One of the best Westerns they have made since the 60s.

Jimmy you need to fire the blonde hair guy with you doing reactions. I tried watching this video a few weeks ago & it was a turn off watching him & I just gave up on it. People that give off so much negative energy is bad for doing reviews. Your reaction was good cause you were at least paying attention. I don't mind people not liking a movie but seeming uninterested is the worst.

Nice little addition to the list of modern Westerns (or "new Westerns" maybe ? "Modern Western" sometimes meaning a modern setting with Western conventions, like e.g. 'Justified').
Suspected all along but _knew_ from the wife's grave - "McCarty" was the giveaway (read a lot about Billy the Kid after watching "Young Guns" 1 & 2 back in the day :) - though it didn't really hurt the movie IMO.

excellent movie, i knew from the start he isn't a normal farmer. From the scne he is hiding then gets away from the villians on a horse early in the movie. He was just too smooth to be a regular farmer

damn you guys are either too high or just heavily sedated because during the reveal scene I fucking flipped, the movie went from being a 7 to a 10

pls watch (the duelists) a masterpice of a movie.
It is, pre-Alien Ridley Scott. The Last Valley is an underrated move of similar genre. It wasn't as successful since the 30 year war isn't understood outside of Europe.

You both seem like heartless men yes was the wounded guy a bad guy yes but it was clear that Henry after living life for his son an his family wasn’t able to just let the man die
And for blue shirt to say I don’t know him what if he was shot and someone came upon him they don’t know him either but wouldn’t you want them to help you it’s clear these men are not good guys in the way they think

Check out The Good Girl. It's good. It hasJohn C Reilly and this Uncle Henry actor. It's pretty good and it's a dark humor. It also has Jennifer Aniston and Jake Gyllenhaal.
